Marcus is not one to rush over *unknown* unstable and potentially dangerous ground, when he could instead have *known* unstable and potentially dangerous ground. He turns to flee back the way they came, calling Orbit (who is, unsurprisingly) flagging after extended combat to return as he does, and instead sends out his Riolu, Perigee, to help protect him. The agile fighting-type is able to fight on the move more effectively than many of his Pokemon, which helps them detach from the pack relatively easily. Meanwhile, Marcus is internally moaning that his precognition didn't give him any warning of this, let alone useful advice. He'd had a vision this morning, but all it did was forecast his lunch (a couple of trail-bars that seems a very long time ago now), not the bit where he was running for his life.
