Birch was all sold out of this really cute dress Adelaide had wanted- Tawny had said it would look absolutely great on her and maybe make people notice her more if she wore it around, maybe help her get used to attention! And the next retailer was all the way in Bass! She had wanted to buy it online and just call it a day, but Bayleef, upon seeing her dejected expression, had other plans.
Maybe that's how she found herself, helmet on and padded to the nines with knee guards and arm guards clinging desperately to her Bayleef's neck as she determinedly sprinted her way down route one. They were going to get Addy that cute dress, if it was the last thing they did!

Prim was going so fast- her hair kept flipping right into her face which obviously made it super hard to see past. She kept coughing and sputtering, however couldn't do more than frantically whip her head from side to side in hopes the locks of hair stopped attacking- she was so distracted in fact that she barely had time to register Bayleef veering to a stop, a concerned whine leaving her lips.
What?! Addy paused, pushing her hair finally out of her face, using the stability of Primrose's stop to get a better look at why she'd stopped- only to find a Grotle besides the duo, cooing softly and stamping on the floor! Addy wasn't sure why he looked... so happy? The girl looked at Primrose, then the Grotle.
"...Uhm..." She slid off her mon for a second and moved closer, gently running a hand over the Grotle's shell, "Y-You're... y-you're actually r-really cute!" She attempted a smile, spitting out hair while she did so, "Did y-you like seeing Prim run reeeally fast?"
There was a coo in response, and Addy giggled, fishing around in her bag for a pokeball, "H-Here, you can see plenty more if you join me?"

Grotle didn't wanna join her at all! Infact, as soon as Addy had stopped patting him an offered the ball he got scared, letting out a series of frightened noises before batting the ball away with his nose and running off without another word. A soft, confused noise left Adelaide's throat but she shook her head- this was fine! Back to it, they had a store to get to before closing time!
She took a deep breath before swinging back onto Prim, who let out a series of gentle hums to ensure Addy didn't freak out about the fail at a catch, and then broke into a run, Adelaide tightening her grip on Prim and letting out a soft squeak in response.

Primrose for the most part wasn't going at a super fast pace, she knew Adelaide would probably start screaming if she did, so thankfully she kept her trots steady. Adelaide was holding on to Prim incredibly tight, she hadn't done too much riding on her in the past, and every jolt caused her to shriek or squirm- surely this was uncomfortable for Prim, right?
The began veering away from the seaside and towards the forest now, and what her luck that the first obstaclethat Prim hadn't noticed was a low-hanging tree! Addy tried to duck away from it, however a branch managed to get caught in her hair! A confused shriek caused Prim to quickly pull to a stop as the girl moved to wrangle the branch from her already messy locks- only to find the branch had a tiny Apricorn attached-
Both luck and unlucky at the same time... figures. Pocketing it and throwingthe branch away Addy managed out: "I-It's out- let's continue, P-Prim!"

Continuing was easier said than done, Prim had to pick up the pace again and be cautious of trees and shrubbery! This was a lot for a huge mon like her, but she wanted to keep Addy safe and make sure that she got that dress that she saw earlier! It was a great, brave mission! Continuing forward, Addy's grip loosened as she began to get used to the pace, trusting Prim more.
Everything was fi- She let out a yelp and clinged tightly to Prim at something fell from above and hit her head, only to get hit once more by another object. What?! Prim quickly pulled to a stop again and Adelaide all but slid off, confused- only to find two Repeat Balls on the ground- were this.... they- they hit her and fell from the trees?!
She looked up, only to see the tail of a retreating pokemon- it most have stolen the balls off somebody and thrown then at her! A confused noise left Addy's lips, but she pocketed the balls too and hopped back on.

Prim was fed up with all this stooping, they had a job to do! Get a cute dress, and... oh they'd probably have to get a hotel up in Bass for the night, it's not like she had an apartment or anything, either... though- she'd have to pay double for two hotels- since the one in Birch had all her stuff! Addy's head hurt, that was... so much money, Tawny wasn't going to be impressed.
She was so caught up in her thoughts she didn't hear a trainer yell out to her as she ran past, something about a battle?! Prim did though, but she wasn't about to slow down or let Adelaide stop- full speed to Bass! They were almost at Cedar too, so close...

So close... and yet before Addy had time to blink Prim was veering to a stop! Adelaide was utterly confused, at least until she noticed a stranger carrying a guitar in her path, "You're not playin' fair lil miss-" She stranger called up at her, a smirk on his lips- he... he was trying to stop her in her trip! Addy let out a soft squeak, eyes wide, "N-No, sorry... i-i'm in a rush you see... a-and... and..." Hands tightened and untightened, would they think she was entitled?! A butt?!
Before she could do anything Prim let out a loud cry, right in the strangers face as a means to intimidate and scare him off before quickly dodging around him and going on her way. Adelaide let out a soft mumble of a thanks and leaned closer into her pokemon, who let out a gentle, calming coo in response.

Chill surrounding Adelaide as Prim continued forward, Cedar was basically in their view at this point! Just a little more forward and... "STOP!" A kid ran out infront of Primrose, looking completely agitated. Primrose tried her best to avoid him but he kept trying to run infront of her, stamping his feet. Adelaide let out a confused noise, peering up at him- only to see him holding up a pokeball. "You can't get outta here without having a battle- I saw you- dodging around those other peopl-"
Addy gently patted Prim's side and she took it as an opportunity to rush around the boy, to freedom! To cedar! One route left now- let's just hope the boy didn't get a good enough look at her face to tell local reporters that Adelaide Gladstone was a coward.
