A cool breeze blew Gwendolyn's hair to the side, strands whipping her face as she tried fruitlessly to keep her face clear as she walked up the path toward Birch City Lab. It wasn't exactly a perfect morning to go to the lab and obtain the starter pokemon she required to begin her journey, but it was little more than a minor annoyance. She wouldn't have traveled this far to start a pokemon journey if she expected clear skies and sunshine every day.

Still, it was relief when she finally reached the door, where she knocked gently before turning the handle and coming inside. She ran both hands over her scalp, brushing the hair back into acceptable condition, even if it might not have been entirely perfect. "Hello?" Gwen called into the lab. "My name is Gwendolyn Nocturne, and I'm here for my starter pokemon."

One of the lab assistants was the first to notice Gwen and was quick to tell her to wait while they went to get Professor Holly. They retreated into the back right after. Shortly after, Holly came out from the back portion of the lab, a Pokeball case in tow. “Hello Gwendolyn, I have your Pokemon options here,” she stated calmly opening said case and fishing out the three Pokeballs. In a flash of light, each appeared.
