Elise was a helper by nature, and she had more compassion than she knew what to do with. Still, even she had to admit that taking a bicycle down Route 2 in the freezing weather was perhaps not the brightest idea she’d ever had. Granted, it wasn’t even her idea. A panicked young man had entered the cat café and asked anyone, anyone at all, could help, and she’d answered yes without even knowing what she was getting into. Now, she kind of regretted it, but oh well! She just had to power on! She couldn’t give up now no matter how cold it actually was! It would all be ok!
Freezing wind blew by her hair not tied and threatened to pull the stocking cap she had on her head clean off. Every few minutes, she’d reach up and make sure that it was still there. Ok, good, yep it was. The jacket she had buttoned all the way up was shaken loose a few buttons but was holding her frame for the most part. It was only really her legs that were cold, and they were doing the most work here powering down the pavement towards an unknown destination, the person they were trying to catch up with to to deliver the much needed letter.
An Elusive Recipient An urgent letter needs delivering to a traveling trainer, but they haven't come back into town in quite some while. Since you're traveling, too, perhaps you can go look for them? In fact, take this bicycle to help you search faster.

For as cold as it is, the path through Route 2 seems to be mercifully clear of rocks, ice, and other things that would obstruct the path. Unfortunately, nobody is in sight at the moment. Maybe you just missed them?
Elise frowned as she looked around. There didn’t appear to be anyone in sight, but she wouldn’t give up yet! That just meant the traveler she were looking for had to be ahead of her, right? Right! She couldn’t, wouldn’t, consider the option that said traveler had gone down a different route entirely and was headed in the wrong direction which would make this entire chase void— No that was silly to consider! She had to stay positive!
Uhm, maybe two sets of eyes were better than one. Stopping briefly, Elise fiddled in her coat for her Pokeballs, enlarged one, and released a Ribombee. “Shimmer would you keep an eye out for anyone up ahead or around?” she asked. “I know it’s cold, but if you could look briefly and just let me know, that’d be great.” The Rbombee twirled about and nodded before flying up and searching around. For now, Elise would bike forward and wait.
Shimmer does not see any humans around, but Pokemon? There's a large group of Clobbopus up ahead. They seem to be having quite the disagreement and unfortunately are in the road having this problem. You will probably need to find a different route around them.
Shimmer twisted around three hundred sixty degrees very slowly. She didn’t see any humans for miles, but she did see a conglomerate of feisty Pokemon up the trail. Oh dear. She didn’t want Ellie pummeled just for riding by or something. She had to find an alternate route! Hmmmmm…. Hmmmmm…. Well, that lower path looked a little more snowy but was definitely away from the Clobbopus group! A cry escaped from her to catch Elise’s attention before she made a directional point down the lower snowier trail.
Elise, meanwhile, wasn’t sure what Shimmer had seen but was willing to take her directions for whatever they were worth. Looking at the not-quite fork in the road (what with one clear and the other snow filled), she bit her lower lip slowly. Uh… uhm…. Well. It couldn’t be that bad going that way, right? And if that was where Shimmer had seen humans or something, that was the way they needed to go. Taking in a deep breath and righting herself, Elise biked on through the snowy section now. Oh, this was a little harder and she was finding the peddles harder to pump and the chain sticking. Please mellow out, please mellow out…. If not, this ride was going to be a struggle.
Elise’s breath caught hard and fast the minute she felt the bike start to sink. A squeak escaped from her, and she was quick to stop and get off. Her own feet, though, were quick to sink into the snow as well. This portion was deep. They needed to turn back and get back on the road instead. This wasn’t safe.
Purple eyes flicked up to Shimmer again who was still looking about, searching for a safe way to travel. As she felt Elise’s eyes, Shimmer glanced down again and shook her head. The pack of Pokemon she had spotted on the road was still there, and she didn’t see any other human in sight for a while. What were they going to do? A small cry escaped from Shimmer.
Ok, ok, no they had to calm down. It would be ok. They just had to figure this out. Elise shook her head to clear it. They’d have to get up to the high road first, and then once she was sure the ground was stable again, they’d go from there. Starting through the snow again, she managed to get back to the path before starting on her bike again. No matter what they couldn’t give up!
It was Shimmer who noticed the flock of Pidgey up ahead. A cry escaped from her to alert Elise, and she made a quick point when the girl looked up to her. On seeing the flock of Pidgey, Elise took in a breath. The only way forward right then was through them. “Shimmer use Fairy Wind! Try and keep them at bay!” she called before peddling as fast as she could on down below the Pidgey group.
Shimmer did just that but then attracted the Pidgey to herself. Yelping in surprise, she went darting down into the trees to avoid their beaks and claws. Twisting one way and then the next, she was raked a couple of times before using a Moonblast of her own accord and bashing the Pidgey off her tail. Once that was done, she was quick to fly after Elise again and find how far the girl had gotten. Still no sign of the traveling person- but thanfully no sign of the other dangerous Pokemon they’d seen earlier.
Things seemed to go well enough for a little while, but eventually you see a strange group of pokemon up ahead. It's a cast of very tiny Krabby standing in the middle of the road for some reason? And one of them has... a knife? Oh dear.
Still no sign of the traveler anywhere? Elise didn’t want to feel too discouraged, but she was starting to. No! no no no! I can do this! She shook her head a couple of times to clear it and kept peddling. Shimmer, meanwhile, squeaked out a cry that caught her attention briefly. Looking around and seeing the… very tiny Krabby, she almost ‘daw’d’ at it until seeing one with a—
Elise squeezed on the breaks and slowed to a stop momentarily to be sure she was seeing was real but… but yep one of those Krabby had a knife for some reason. She watched it swing it around and cry out at the others, but she had no idea what it was doing. When the group noticed she was gawking, however, the one with the knife raised it up and uttered a battle cry. A squeak escaped from Elise, and very quickly she started peddling again hoping to put as much distance between her and the weird horde as possible.

You hear a noise from the lead Krabby with the knife. You don't speak Krab, but it sounds suspiciously like "CHARGE!"
You pedal for your life. The horde of Krabby stampede after you, a sea of red amid brown and green. You don't know how long it is before the sounds of the horde start to fade, and eventually go completely quiet. When you turn your head, there is no one there.
A few minutes later, you cycle through the outer borders of Cedar Town.
Elise’s legs were burning from the ferocity of her pedaling down the pathways. Shimmer cussed out the Krabby horde a couple of times and even shot off a couple of Pollen Puffs just to keep them at bay. After a while, they cleared it. They pedaled on for a while, and Elise was wheezing just a little from the strain now. Soon, though, she could see the outskirts of Cedar on the horizon and… a suspiciously well packed traveler walking on by.
“Sir!” She squeaked out causing him to stop and turn. Elise peddled quickly over to him. “Are you—“ She gave a name, and to her delight, it was in fact the traveling trainer she was looking for! Almost all the way to Cedar, but still! They had made it! Handing over the letter, she smiled exhaustedly but proudly. Thereafter, she would turn and make the long trek back towards Bass again. Goodness she was never doing this again!
