How many goddamned fossils can one dig-site have before it's classified as a tomb? Senara wasn't sure what the classification was, but finding three fossils one one general area of the mines probably qualified as something noteworthy. Whatever it meant, she now had a pretty good reason to visit Ivy Town and get them revived. But would she take the ferry like a normal person? Spend several hours on a boat unable to escape the crowds on board? Hah, hell no, she was going to take Crepe out for a ride.
And this time she was actually dressed for it instead of risking getting all her clothes wet again. With a proper water-proof bag, a full-body wet-suit--it was too damn cold for anything else one way or another, and her hair tied up in the tightest, neatest bun she could manage. It was getting kinda long, maybe she should cut it soon. The ferry wasn't back for some time, and she wasn't going to wait around for anything.
Just a couple more adjustments with the "seat" she'd attached to Crepe's back for comfort and they would be good to go. It was set for two, though, because his size was so big she hadn't been able to get a one-seater that fit him. Poor, poor big boy.
No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no Groudon No! Juni paced from one end of the ferry landing point to the other. How had she had last week’s ferry schedule logged in her phone rather than the actual proper one for this week? How had she been not four or five minutes late but thirty? Sure, the ferry would be back in a few hours or so, but she had things to do back home, and she really did not want to wait that long!
Breaking her pacing to walk up the wooden path to the various smaller piers and landing points, Juni found herself looking around for anyone out and about. A boatman would be enough, or maybe a fisherman even if he got in close to Ivy Town. A— A woman on a huge Mantine??? Uh… Well, beggars can’t be choosers, and she hadn’t even said yes yet. “Ah! Hello??? Hi yes, my name is Dr. Juniper Savage— I was wondering if you could help me back to Ivy Town? My ferry schedule was off somehow, that is if you were heading to Ivy. I mean it seemed you were headed off on the water in that direction but—“ Juni shut up and took in a cool, deep, shaky breath. Calm down, calllllm down.

Senara had gotten the last strap strapped correctly when she heard somebody making noise in her general direction. At first, she ignored it, because it wasn't a voice she knew and why would somebody be calling her out that she didn't know? But sure enough the stranger came right up to her on the whole wide beach and without further ado began to introduce herself to Senara. She blinked. And squinted. Juniper Savage...hm, she had heard that name somewhere. Thinking...thinking...wait. "Uh, do you have any papers published with your name on them? Like, peer-reviewed stuff?" She tried to meld her casual valley-girl shtick with what she was saying but it felt weird. She had no other reason to know this woman's name, and she was going by "doctor". It might be right.
She took a careful step off the back of Crepe, who was sitting partially beached for the getting-a-saddle-on procedure, and looked the woman over some more. It was at this distance, Juniper could probably see something odd about Senara: she didn't seem to have a left eye. Well, no, she did, there was something there in the socket, but it was certainly not an eye. It didn't even look like a fake eye. It was almost completely clear, tinted just a little towards blue, and shined almost like a marble. A quite expensive, but quite fun addition to Senara's usual attire. It suited her strange style well--and it made her head hurt much less when she could "see" auras with both eyes instead of just one.
Hers is kinda pretty. Like beach at dawn...or at dusk? Neat.
"If I'm right, which, like, I think I totally am?" She giggled, still keeping her cheerful smile in tact. Ivy was a town of scholars, it only seemed right that this would be the correct woman. "Then sure! I owe a few passing grades to your work, Dr. Savage! I don't have a spare wet-suit though, but...if you wanna, I can put your stuff in the water-proof bag?"
W-what? Juni’s lips parted, sealed, and parted again. “Yes??” she ask-stated back. “Five of them, one in Oakland Physics?” That one was her biggest article, one that had such a high rating that she was almost somehow embarrassed to admit to. Juni coughed and then cleared her throat. “Have you read any of them or—“ What were the odds that someone going to Ivy Town, the town of researchers, had read any of her publications? Higher than normal I guess… But still.
She was… nervous but not fidgety, somehow. Her hands found her pockets to grip into, and her fingers drummed against her jeans as she waited for some sort of response. Her gaze bounced around from the pink haired woman to the massive Mantine and back a couple of times. She wouldn’t even register the strangeness of the item in the other woman’s ‘eye’. Her thoughts were too jumbled on other things.
Senara’s giggle, fake or not, had Juni breathing a little easier, but only for a moment. “A few passing grades--?-“ W-…Oh so then. Oh. Oh wow. Equal parts embarrassed and proud, she forced a smile thereafter. “That’d be great…” she answered shifting the backpack off her shoulder abet awkwardly. “There’s nothing super important in here but…” But she’d appreciate non-soggy notebooks when she got home.
Just as it had come, adrenaline started to leave Juni, and she reached up to adjust her glasses and then ruffle her hair. “Thanks….” she started only to stop. “I…uh didn’t catch your name?” she realized right after.

Aha, right on the money! She couldn't remember what the exact paper had been on, but she knew she'd recognized that name! A last name like "Savage" was cool enough to get stuck in the head for a few years afterwards. Senara giggled softly at the reaction her question got--hah, did she not look like the type to have gone to university?...well, that was kind of the point of the bright pink hair--to be disarming--but she wasn't even in her preppy "work" clothes or her actual work clothes. Maybe she should have gone for more of a surfer archetype. Sup bro. "Yep! I must've read a couple of them! I got a une maîtrise--oops, Master's degree--in geology! Reading kinda comes with the territory!"
Senara nodded and motioned towards the little plastic-looking bag attached to the back of Crepe's saddle. "Sure sure, set it on in. I'll move over my things for yours!" Stepping over the sand she knelt down partially on the beach, partially on Crepe's back, to open the bag and rummage about inside. Within it, carefully preserved in special containers not too dissimilar to egg incubators, were the four fossils she had collected in the mines over the last few months: a Helix fossil, a Plume fossil, a Jaw fossil, and a Sail fossil. The containers kept moisture out just fine on their own, but she also had them wrapped around in bubble wrap and taped to be sure. Crepe wasn't the fastest and the water wasn't especially bumpy from here to Ivy, but it never hurt to be safe.
"Senara Spargo, at your service. I'm a Mineralogist working in Pine Town, but I came up to bring these beauties into the lab! I'm super excited to see what comes from them~"
She’s got a Masters degree in Geology? Red eyes lit with surprise, and a wide smile flashed across Juni’s face. It wasn’t every day one came across someone even tangentially related to her field— even in Ivy Town. “Really? That’s awesome!”
For a brief moment, Juni had forgotten her plight and concerns, but as the bag was opened, she was back to reality again. Walking over and folding some of her bigger papers carefully around the smaller ones to make a one-size fits all mesh, she paused momentarily to look over the fossils also in the bag.
That was… quite a collection, and they all seemed intact too which was even rarer. Juni’s attention flicked to Senara as she started to introduce herself. She didn’t recognize her name in turn but would repeat it over a couple of times in the back of her mind to assure it stuck. “Ah so you plan to revive them?” she surmised easily. “You’ll have a lot of new Pokemon on your hands baring everything goes well.” Out of habit, she reached up and adjusted her glasses. “One of my colleagues works at the lab, so I could show you were it is if you don’t already know.” It was… the least she could do giving the circumstances.
Speaking of circumstances, they should probably get going now yeah.

Senara giggled again, and this time it was genuinely out of delight. She had fun in Pine working in the mines, but rarely got to meet other people with her level of expertise. She really should visit Ivy more often but it was so far away without a Flying Pokemon, and, well, Neigeux was in theory good for that but he was a bit of a nimrod. Maybe once she got him properly trained it would be another story. For now, she was land-locked. Unless Crepe was involved, then she was still on the slow-travel route, but with more sea. With Juni's bag safely stored she gave the woman a chance to look over her fossils before zipping back up. "I know right?? Sooo many! I found the Helix one a month ago or so, but wasn't sure if I should take it in by itself...then I found three in one dig! I think Arceus is trying to tell me something, hahah~" In truth she'd just been too busy with the heist to think about going to Ivy Town--and every time she mentioned going there over that period of time, she got looks, so she'd stopped bringing it up. So now it was.
"I'm a little bit bummed I didn't find an Armor fossil. I love Steel-types. Dinoclier would have been such a good addition to the party--err, Shieldon," she corrected herself with the more common name, "But I'll still take good care of 'em! And that would be great!"
With bags packed and saddles secured, Senara gestured for Juni to take the seat on the right side. "So you fasten these two, kinda like a car. I had to get the double-wide one 'cause the others didn't fit Crepe! Heehee, des ennuis d'être un grand garçon, hein?" Senara grinned down at Crepe, who planted his face in the sand and made little low embarrassed noises. Aw, silly pancake. She climbed over him to get to the left-side seat. With how it was set up she wound up in a bit of a paddle-boat-like sitting position, with her body in the seat the soles of her feet against Polochon's bare back, to steer.
Once Juni was similarly strapped in, she'd give Crepe a pat on the back. "Allons-y! Vous n'avez pas besoin de vous précipiter, mais essayez de garder un rythme régulier, d'accord?" With big, heavy wing-like fins Crepe pushed himself backwards from the beach like a very large sea-turtle, until they were right on the water itself. The saddle kept their chairs out of the water even with Crepe semi-submerged. "Here we go~"
Three fossils in one go? Groudon was definitely saying something if Arceus wasn’t. Juni couldn’t help but grin a little. “You must have come across an old sinkhole or tar pit,” she commented. “They tend to fossilize things a lot better than other ground masses.” Maybe she should make her way down to Pine Town sometime to check it o— Oh. She actually just remembered her last time down the route from Birch to it. Uh, heh. Maybe she wouldn’t go alone next time.
A curious look came and went from Juni’s features as Senara proclaimed to love Steel-type Pokemon. She had a few of those, a Steelix and two Metang, but none of them were with her then so she held off on stating that. But actually she kind of recognized that foreign name. It wasn’t Orreish it was— “Kalosian?” she ask-stated after a moment.
That thought was put away for now as she hesitantly climbed on and sat down into the right seat. Oh huh, it was a full seat actually wasn’t it? Juni shifted a little listening to Senara before finding the seat belt and snapping it on. It reminded her of a motorboat almost. Yeahhh that’s definitely Kalosian— “Eeep!” Juni reached up and slapped a hand over her mouth as the surprise of the Mantine moving broke like a wave over her. She knew it was coming. She swore she did, but it surprised her none the less.
At least as they got out on the water, things started to move a little smoother. “So you said you were from Pine Town?” Juni backtracked and reflected a little. “I haven’t had the opportunity to head out there yet. Lab research got busy the moment I arrived.”That was an understatement. A small laugh came and went from her.

"Ah, yes, that was my suspicion, too! I made sure to mark it down for future digs--I hope I find even more in that area," Senara felt pretty good talking to somebody else with the knowledge she did, even if only for a little while. "I probably don't need so many for my own use, though, unless I find new ones. I'll probably donate them instead...is that an option in Ivy? Do you know?" She tapped her feet gently on Crepe's back, a subtle sign for him to start moving out onto the open sea. His fins "beat" against the water slowly, heavy like, well, like a twelve-foot-wingspan was expected to be, but despite the speed he still went relatively quickly over the water. The wingspan probably helped with that.
Senara giggled just a little when Juni yelped, but rather than tease her for it, she chose to confirm her earlier question. "Mmhm! Lived there all my life, until I decided that Arciel had more archaeological secrets for me to uncover~" A half-truth. "Pine's a bit hard to get adjusted to--the people there are a little stone-faced, if you'll pardon that joke! But the tunnels are so rich in minerals and stones and, well, fossils! I've had more luck here than I think I would anywhere in Kalos. It's much less crowded, too, here than there."
"What have you been studying in Ivy? I totally should have come up here sooner, given, like, the whole mineralogist thing. But it's so much more convenient to do my work from home, 'stead of travelling all the way up here. Oh well! Guess we're both swamped!"
Juni Savage WC: 292 Shall we mod call and catch some Pokemans?
Hmmm well. “There’s a museum that will take them,” Juni recalled. “And some labs do take them pre-or-post-revival….” She knew of at least a few who specialized their research in fossil Pokemon. Hm, she wondered if Markos’ lab was still accepting fossils or not. She’d have to ask him.
Juni switched gears and paid more attention Senara thereafter. Ah, she’d come to Arciel to dig, more or less? Listening to the description of the place, Juni snorted and smirked a little. “I know plenty of scientists who can be like that,” she admitted before shrugging her shoulders. The thought that such untapped potential existed down there did spark her curiosity all the more, though.
As the question was returned to her, though, a sort of wild, manic light came to Juni’s eyes. “Working on some thermodynamics modeling for the tectonic plates under Arciel and how it affects the Grumble Volcano! I’m more computational than hands-on science these days, but I do go out and collect data myself.” She grinned wildly. “Have you heard of Dr. Knox? She’s the primary investigator I’m working under right now. She’s got years of experience in the field and a lot of data already available. My mentor in Hoenn, Dr. Ito, suggested working under her when I was looking for post-doctoral positions.” It was clearly that she probably could have kept going on but paused for a moment to think. “Are you working under anyone or acting more as an independent researcher?”
Good, there was an option for any future fossils she found to be given to a good home. Great! Senara didn't want to have to auction the poor things off or look for potential trainers to take them herself--she'd much rather give them over to a museum or a lab to keep track of. It wasn't like they were conscious in their fossilized form, so she didn't have any negative feelings about them being kept un-revived for research purposes.
Maybe I should keep one if I find it for my own collection?...eh, it's not an evolutionary stone, and there's not much I can learn from it. I deal with rocks, not bones.
The salty air was bitterly cold, and made Senara grateful that it was so sunny and that she had a proper wet-suit on. Last time she'd tried to cross the sea she'd been nearly frozen solid. Then again, up in the air wasn't as cold as being right on the water, was it? Eh. "Oooh, I haven't been out east yet. I've seen a lot of pictures of ol' Grumble though! Obsidian is such a gorgeous stone..." She sighed wistfully. But this was no time for thinking of jewelry, this was science time! She shook the thoughts from her head. "She sounds super cool, if she's getting such cool researchers on her side! I'm almost a little jealous," Senara nodded, tying her answer to Juni's question in with the subject, "I do most of my work for myself. Like, my actual money-making job is doing geological and environmental mapping for the Pine Town mines. Making sure nothing too precious is being depleted, keeping an eye on mineral deposits...that sorta thing."
Senara sighed softly, her charm lessening a little. "It's a shame because I'd really rather do work with evolutionary stones, like I do in my spare time, but there's not a lot of money in it from a purely geological standpoint. Pokemon professors have all the fun."
Near enough that Crepe had to swerve, a little pod of Wailmers started to drift past them. Senara was delighted for the distraction, watching them as they bobbed their way past, silly little button eyes peeking out over the water. She considered trying to catch one but where there were pods of Wailmers, Wailords were likely nearby keeping watch. She didn't want to go pissing off a mama Wailord. So she was content with letting them pass by...
...hah?
At least, that had been her plan. Until she spotted one little Wailmer had turned around from the pod and was following them. Senara looked over her shoulder and blinked. Crepe didn't really have the ability to look behind himself without diving or turning his whole body around, but he could feel the Wailmer following them pretty closely through the way the water was moving. What the--why is this one following us? Is Crepe so big she thinks he's a Wailord? Senara snickered softly. Whatever the reason, she wasn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Or, uh, a lone Wailmer in the...bristles? Bristles.
"One moment, Dr. Savage!" Senara pressed her heel lightly into Crepe's back and he came to a slow halt in the sea. The Wailmer actually bumped into him when he stopped, and it made a small confused, almost musical sound in reply. Senara undid her belts and stood up--Crepe was large enough that she could easily walk on his back. She withdrew a pokeball decorated with little silver rhinestones from her belt. "But we've got a cute little tailgater that I must try to catch! Raye, why don't you give this one a go?"
She tossed the ball skyward, and in a flash of white light, a small, shaggy Meowth took shape. With bright yellow eyes and a wide grin, Raye stood up tall, the black coin on her head gleaming in the sunlight. But she took pause noticing the, uh, battle ground she was on. Raye turned to stare at Senara with her smiled turned downward.
Really?
"Just stand on Crepe, you'll be fine!" Senara snickered again and waved her hand.
Raye shrugged, turned back towards the Wailmer, and brandished her claws. With that settled Senara barked out a command: "Frappez-la avec un bluff d'ouverture!" Raye jolted forward, using Crepe as a platform to get right up and close to the still confused looking Wailmer. She looked like she was about to scratch the poor thing across the muzzle when, instead--CLAP!!--she snapped her paws together right in front of its face. The Wailmer flinched and floated back a little, whining in its still somewhat melodious voice, but that gave Raye the time she needed to get her next attack in. "Grattez-la!" Claws out for real this time she dragged the hardened, metal-looking tips over her again and again, much to the complaining cries of the Wailmer. It drew in a breath and exhaled a fine white mist that made Raye's fur wet and whiskers droop but did little to deter her from continuing the assault. Once it seemed weakened enough, Senara drew another pokeball out--this one bright blue, decorated with faint, coral-pink splotches--made for catching Pokemon on the water, and threw it right at the Wailmer.
Juni wished she had paper and a pen to take notes with. Instead, she was left to try and document all the details in between her ears. She could totally understand the necessity of managing what was mined— especially with the limitations on the land! There were so many more deposits in the earth’s mantel, but it would take mining under the water to get to them. As Senara went on, though, Juni frowned a little. “Funding…. is limited,” she sighed a little softer. She got that one… too well. “What sort of work are you doing on stones, though?”
That would have to wait, though, as the subtle shift in the Mantine had her squeaking a little. Twisting around as she saw the Wailmer pod pass, Juni frowned a little. Tch… At least it hadn’t been a swarm of Carvanha or Sharpedo…. She turned forward again, trying to gauge just how far they were from Plum— at least until Senara spoke again. “Huh?” The bump had her turning around again to see the Wailmer that had been following them. Juni snorted at the explanation and adjusted her glasses some. “That’s fine.” For now. She watched the battle transpire without a word, her gaze held on the movement of the Pokemon. She wasn’t sure exactly what Senara was saying, but a few of those words sounded comparable to Orreish almost.
As she watched, however, Juni would start to feel eyes on her. The hairs on the back of her neck had started to stand on end, and she fidgeted to look around for just what it was. Red eyes… met red eyes. Engaged by the battle, a Horsea had come up to the surface to watch what was going on, only to find herself more interested in the sharp red hair of the other person atop this massive Mantine. Juni tilted her head to one side. The Horsea did the same. “Don’t mock me,” was the reply. The Horsea stared. A small puff of air escaped from Juni. “Shoo, go on….” she made a hand gesture. The Horsea continued to stare. A small ‘tch’ sound escaped from Juni. She really didn’t have the Pokemon for this.
She supposed it might be surfable at some point. Muttering something under her breath, Juni fished out a spare Pokeball and tossed it at the Horsea lazily.
Senara got genuinely flustered over her next question, and was grateful for the distraction of a Wailmer to give her time to think about it. It wasn't like she had to come up with a lie on the spot for it. She did do research with evolutionary stones--how they worked, how they registered the genetic code of a Pokemon that could evolve with them, what happened to them after the evolution occurred, if they could be tricked by Ditto or other Pokemon with transforming abilities...but it was all for fun and not for profit. Was it silly of her, then, to put so much work into it? Was it just because she loved their looks? It would be so much easier to talk about tectonic plates under the volcano that this...
Which was ironic, because she liked to talk about this, but up until just now it had been with people who didn't have higher than a high school education, who couldn't make any snide remarks about her work being meaningless or weird or niche or...
Well, if she says anything like that, I can toss her off Crepe. See how she fares.
...hah, "sea" how she fares. See. Sea. God I'm glad Gabe's not here to hear that.
Newly filled dive ball sent off to her PC, Senara gave a quick offer to Raye to stay out, to which the cat vehemently refused, and was returned. She then returned to her seat just in time to spot Juni halfheartedly catch a Horsea that had decided to watch the show. She snorted as she sat down and buckled back in. "Making friends of you own, Dr. Savage?" Senara giggled. "At least they're cute!" With a couple taps of her heel Crepe began to move again over the open sea. Senara was, once again, left debating how to answer the question she'd left hanging. "Umm...let me think...the latest I've done is tests on how the stones react to a Ditto transformed into Pokemon that require an evolutionary stone. It was pretty interesting. The surface-deep copy that Dittos can do is enough to make the stone's core respond, but not enough that it...melds? Infuses? Itself with the Pokemon. I tried it with a few stones, and even with the same Ditto they all reacted for a short time before reverting to their inactive state. I wanted to test how they would react if Ditto took the form of an Eevee, but we didn't have one available."
Juni Savage WC: 891 How do I talk about science. (7/15)
Juni jolted slightly and turned back around to Senara. “I guess?” she ask-replied back. “Hoping when it evolves, I’ll have a ride to and from Ivy of my own.” She’d see how well that plan actually executed itself in time. Sitting back more comfortably on Crepe again, she was glad to have that moment before he started moving again. Her hands fidgeted a little and found part of the seat to grab onto to steady herself.
….Her attention, though, immediately flicked to Senara again as she started to describe what she’d been researching. How stones react to a transformed Ditto? Huh, she’d assumed they wouldn’t work but realized quickly she had no evidence to actually assume that. That was interesting. She listened along as Senara described what experiments had already been done.
“Huh,” was her first response back. Looking forward and setting a hand on her chin in thought. “You know there are a lot of articles that describe Pokemon biology in terms of light,” she thought aloud. “Their cells and structures act more like light waves than traditional organic molecules like what we have. That’s why we can store them in Pokeballs…” She rubbed her forehead briefly trying to recant exactly what she had read. “When they evolve, it could be said that their light-based structures are rearranging to fit a new pattern. If stones react to Pokemon by exchanging light frequencies— some we may see but some we don’t, it would make sense that the stone would react even if the Ditto didn’t….” She mushed her hair a little and fell off into mumblings then.

"Ooh, yeah, and Hyporoi are so fast!! Er--Kingdra?" Senara couldn't remember if that was the name of the first evolution or the second--the one that required a special item to do--but since both of them were still pretty quick it should have been fine. Right? "I can never remember how big they get though. Like, Horsea is so tiny, and then it's totally enormous in it's final evolution. Like, slow down!" Crepe made a small confused sound and Senara tapped him with her foot. "No, not you, you silly pancake. You're fine!"
"Do you think the first person to evolve a Wailmer got, like, crushed? Because if you want to talk about insane size differences during evolution...hm, I'm going to want to keep this girly stored until I'm back at the ocean, won't I?"
Her cheeks paled a little at the thought of the Wailmer evolving in her apartment.
And that is how I die. RIP, Senara Spargo, crushed by a Wailord. What a moron.
Would she lose points with Juni if she admitted that she didn't read a lot of articles about Pokemon themselves? She wasn't unfamiliar with the concept of them being "light-based lifeforms", but it was never a focal point to her interest with evolutionary stones. Maybe she should have paid more attention to it during class instead of planning how to swipe the display stones the teacher was using as examples. Oops. "So it's, like, the stones give off some sort of frequency? But with light instead of sound?" Way to sound like an idiot, Ms Master's Degree. "Huh, I wonder if there's equipment out there to scan the stones with to detect that sort of thing...I'm sure somebody's done it before, right?"
Oh Kingdra were pretty fast weren’t they? Juni confessed in the confines of her own mind that she knew very little about them, but if that was the case, it would make everything so much easier….. well, if Kingdra were as big as she imagined them to be, anyways. She hoped they were and she wasn’t just misremembering them with something else. Her eyes dropped to Crepe below, and a small smile came and went from Juni’s face. Water Pokemon had their place.
“Oh my Groudon—“ Juni sat up again and looked at Senara with a look of confused alarm. “I can only imagine…. But…..” But they were balloon like whales weren’t they? They didn’t have that much mass??? Did they??? “You could wreck a house if you accidentally evolved them inside… or even an at an aquarium….” Another thought occurred to her right after. “So that’s why so many of the aquariums have Everstones in their tanks….” How else would you keep a Wailmer from wreaking havoc.
Thankfully her thoughts were pulled form that bit of fridge-horror and back onto something she cared about in a different way. “Right, I think there is a photosensor that can detect them but if I remember right it can get expensive pretty quickly if you want the good ones…” She reached up and ruffled her hair wishing that she had her phone out to Chuugle it but decidedly not wanting to get it wet.
“They use it for other physical experiments and then someone realized how useful it could be when studying Pokemon— I think.” Or that was a made-up story which science often made in one form or another. “If it’s something you’re interested in you might look into getting it.” She smiled a little back at Senara— very clearly not judging her in the least for it. After all, masters in their fields still had limited knowledge at the end of the day… unfortunately haahahhaah.
Senara let out a little fit of laughter. Oh man, right! She hadn't been to an aquarium in forever--if ever?--but she figured that would be the only thing keeping the Wailmer tank from exploding. Literally. Oh Arceus that was some grim, grim humor right there. She could appreciate that. Everstones in general, though, annoyed her to no end. They were the antithesis of her passion project. Any time she found one, she sold it. Quickly.
No bringing that back to her apartment for her. Who knows what awful effects it might have on her collection? It probably didn't do anything scientifically but, like, emotionally it would be too horrible for her to take.
But maybe having one to stick on the Wailmer wouldn't be the worst idea.
"Errgh, expensive," Senara sighed and tilted her head back. It was funny not needing to "steer" while still being the one "driving". Pokemon made some things so much easier. "If that I had grant money, right? But, like, again, all the important people are studying the Pokemon themselves, not the stones. I don't get why we wouldn't be putting more research into that. Like, what if we could artificially grow evolutionary stones, like we can lab-grow diamonds and sapphires and such? It'd make life so much easier--and it'd be better for the earth, too, cause we wouldn't be digging up so much of it for stones. Even if it'd totally put me out a job if that happened." She snorted. "Not that I'd mind."
