If the blonde was being honest with herself, she was terrified. She hadn't expected to be put straight into the job after a few months into her official course. She knew like... the basics, plus what she'd had to research up herself. She still couldn't listen to people ramble without rolling her eyes in annoyance, and her study on pokemon anatomy was rocky at best- but still, experience at a pokecentre was better than nothing, and there'd be trained nurses hopefully there to guide her.
Before she'd left for her long travel to Birch she'd been smothered in supportive hugs and kisses from Chinami, much to her embarrassment, and the girl had urged her to text as soon as everything was done to let her know how it went. Thank arceus Chinami hadn't walked her all the way to the pokecentre, she'd probably be so worried that she'd refuse to leave Scarlett's side or linger in the waitroom- she knew how Scarlett got, especially when her patience was thinned. Thankfully, she'd been allowed to bring one pokemon with her- and after being convinced not to bring Delilah by her fiance due to the pokemons abnormal reaction to other humans, she'd decided to bring Asher, who strotted along next to her in stride, letting out soft cries every once and awhile as he passed by something he saw that caught his attention-
A puddle in the ground? He could see himself! A smiling little girl? A wave of his vines! He was eager to come along with Scarlett, especially to a place he'd never been before. She knew if anything he'd at least know how to snap her out of being a shitty excuse for a person- a little flick of his vines and she'll be right... probably.
Asher had spent a solid minute admiring himself in the automatic doors of the pokecentre, running alongside them as they opened and closed to allow patrons in and out, which only made them open and close more in response- and Scarlett was already getting a little antsy, "Oi- Asher." Her gaze narrowed at the Bulbasaur, who peeked up at her curiously. Scarlett just pushed at her fringe, great- his cuteness was already getting the better of her. Her gaze softened slightly and she just let out a harsh breath of air, snapping her eyes forward. "...Eyes up, it's time to work."
There were obviously a few other students who'd been assigned the centre today, excitedly chatting in groups all sporting similar uniforms, looking the part of the peppy and helpful nurse- while Scarlett had her arms crossing a little too tightly across her chest... ugh. She'd have to work with them- or at least alongside one of them. She wasn't sure... exactly the specifics, if she was being honest- but when her presence was made known she was herded off to get changed into some number that made her look far too girly- sure she... looked the part of a nurse but couldn't she get to style it a little? At least she got to still wear her ring... Amythyst, gorgeous- she'd take it off when neccesary, slip it into the front pocket- but she didn't really have the heart to take it off- and hadn't since she'd gotten it.
Well... here goes nothing. She'd rushed back out as some nurse had begun talking, Asher rocking back and forth excitedly by her side, eyes flicking around and taking in all the wonderful sights, a vine even tightening around her ankle and untightening like an excited child squeezing a mothers hand. There was excited giggling, happy chatter, and Scarlett instead wore a frown... some of them didn't seem to be taking this seriously at all- people were given areas to watch over or cycle through, and suddenly Scarlett found herself being ushered towards the front of the center to take on general cases- right- fuck okay that shouldn't be too hard.
Wasn't she... supposed to have like a partner for this? Asher was bouncing by her side now, rubbing his forehead against her leg in reassurance as her gaze clipped around the room, only to settle on a white haired nurse. Scarlett's head tilted slightly and a brow raised. "Let me guess, you're stationed here too?"
She stared at them for a few seconds, eyes flicking to her own badge before glancing back up at them. Perhaps her expression could mimick that of being fed up, but she... didn't exactly now what to say to this person rright now, what do you say to a nurse you're paired with?! They don't teach you this in class. "Let's get this over with." A pause, oh- yeah shit right. "Right...You can call me Scarlett, and this is Asher. We'll be in your care or whatever you're supposed to say." Or... was it? She didn't know. Being fresh blood sucks.YQWbNI0S
