Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
To participate in the Swarm, first post in this thread looking for a Pokemon. A mod will tag you and reply with stats for one Pokemon you find, including color and possibly even evolution depending on the species. Reply again encountering and trying to capture the Pokemon. Once you succeed, do not post in the thread again.
You may only find one per character, no rerolls. This is to prevent spamming to find special Pokemon. If for any IC reason you need to encounter another, use the same stats originally rolled and pretend it's a different individual.
Pokemon in Swarms have a 20% chance of being a special coloration!
Pokemon in swarms have a +20% capture rate with any ball, and will never flee.
THIS swarm closes at 11:59pm on MARCH 15. After that, no new encounters will be spawned. However, anyone who has an ongoing encounter that isn't yet finished has until 11:59pm on March 31 to finish trying to catch their encounter. After that, the thread will be locked and archived.

"Alomomola, alo-momo-lalo-mo-mola..."
Standing on the side of the dock for the ferry, Eliza was kicking her feet back and forth, waiting patiently for the hour to strike and the boat to arrive. They were set to perform in Plum in a couple days, and thus she had gotten packed and ready to go at the last possible minute. It didn't help that today was freezing cold and the water looked particularly terrible and icy this morning. It was weather like this that made her want to stay at home and drink hot drinks or soup or something. Alas, the things she did for fun and fame. The most interesting thing she could do as she waited was watching the water and looking for a Pokemon that was supposed to be passing through the channel in some sort of migration.
Alomomola weren't really Eliza's "thing". She found their hand-fins to be a little bit on the creepier side of creepy-cute. At the same time they were quite strong clerical Pokemon with a number of great healing moves, and the membrane that surrounded their fins was a powerful medicine. It made sense that a nurse would have one around, especially if she was travelling around the water a lot.
Plus their name was just really funny to say aloud.
"Alomomomomomola..."
Beneath the floating bits of ice that passed under the docks, Eliza could make out a few shapes just below the water's dark surface. Was it one of them?

Slowly, surely, the shape in the water approached the surface until its color could just be seen through the darkness--brilliantly pink, with the telltale hand-like fins, and...huge as hell, holy cow. Eliza blinked and took her phone out to quickly check the pokedex. Weren't Alomomola supposed to be kind of small? This thing was enormous. Bigger than her by a good few feet! Well, she had been on the fence about catching one of these magnificently strange creatures, but now she really had no choice, did she. No, no she did not. Eliza drew out a pair of pokeballs--one empty, and one belonging to Mimichu--and tossed the latter a short ways behind her. Mimi took shape in the dim gray lighting of the day and looked up at her trainer, bemused. Eliza put a finger to her lips.
"Just as a precaution, right, Mimi?"
Mimichu turned to look out over the water, rather then deigning to respond.
Eliza repositioned herself so that she was laying down on the dock, her body up to her chest on the wood and the rest hanging over the open water. She reached a hand down to brush the glass-smooth surface, and below it the Alomomola took notice of her, glancing up with a small start. "Hello," she pushed her thoughts out towards it. Alomomola were one of those odd cases where she always assumed they were partially Psychic-type, but just looked like they'd be one. Must have been the pink. "You're a beautiful fish. You like to heal others, right? It's in your nature to do so. I heal people too. I'm a nurse. If you'd come with me, you'd be able to help and heal even more Pokemon than you can in the sea. And I would help you to get stronger as well. What do you say?"
There was silence in her mind. The Alomomola was either being guarded with his thoughts, or hadn't decided what to think yet. Still, it swam slowly closer to her until the only thing separating him and her hand on the water's surface was a few small inches. Eliza smiled slightly at him. He was being cautious, but kind.
<...why do you heal people?>
The thought that finally surfaced surprised her, and Eliza's smile faded.
<Why are you a healer?>
"...what do you mean?"
Mimichu began to move from behind Eliza to her side, being careful not to be visible to the Alomomola floating nearby. It helped being so small sometimes.
<Why do you want to help people?>
Eliza was quiet, mentally, as her hand drew back from the water, leaving ripples in its wake. She put another smile on. This was just another question, like a fan or paparazzi, or even one of her friends. She could answer it easily. It was easy. "Because it's the right thing to do. It's a natural urge to help when someone is hurt. I want to help people, I want to heal people. What else is there?"
The Alomomola's thoughts, once again, didn't reach her. Eliza felt the corners of her lips twitch. She was trying to be friendly. And she wasn't completely lying. She did want to help and heal people, even if it wasn't what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. Even if it was just to appease her father and make Pen. Did that make her a bad person? Nobody in the world was so selfless that they'd just want to help people for no reason. Those sort of people...they were only real in fantasies, or in the most foolish of people who were lying to themselves.
The Alomomola approached and peeked its head from the water, still silent.
Eliza lost her patience.
"Mimi, use Wood Hammer."
Before the Alomomola could reach, a long, black, spectral arm reached out from behind the dock, wielding a hammer made of wood, shaped like a lightning bolt. It brought it down upon the unsuspecting Alomomola's head, and the strength of it made the creature moan in pain, too injured to swim away. Mimichu, too, was shaking as she withdrew her arm to her side again. Eliza dropped the pokeball on the weakened Alomomola's head before it could even react.

Senara had a history with Alomomola, thanks to one particularly horrible one at the Bass City gym. The tricky cleric bastard had nearly drawn their battle out to a crawl, and it had been sheer luck (and a change in the battle system) that saved them. So when she heard about an Alomomola school swimming through route three she had absolutely no intent on going near it for a while. But...at the same time, there would be something so cathartic of having one of them for herself. And they were pretty strong healers to boot.
But...aurgh, she could almost see that gym leader giving her shit for wanting one just because his had wrecked her so hard. Even if he wasn't the type to do that at all she couldn't shake the feeling of being a copycat. Eh. Whatever. She was already on the dock of Plum Island, her Joltik Etolie waiting patiently on her shoulder for signs of purple or pink beneath the calm, clear waters. She and Veneur were her prime choices for this one, being Electric-type and Grass-type respectively. It just depended on how strong it was. She could do a two v one if she had to--nobody said she had to be honorable.
She just had to win.

Hmm?
A shape in the water began to swim closer to the docks, either because it had noticed something near them or because it saw, well, a human standing here. Either one was probably. But at first Senara wasn't sure what it was. The dark red, almost bloody color of the fish didn't make it look like any Pokemon she'd seen before...until it was close enough for her to make the shape out and lo, it was in fact an Alomomola! It was just deep dark crimson instead of pink. Senara blinked. Wait, weren't the shiny forms of these guys purple, not--
Ooooooh, it must have been a regional variant! Like the Pidgey and the Milotic! Senara quickly pulled out one of her pokeballs from her bag. Etolie made a small sound of irritation. Why wasn't her trainer ordering her to attack? Yet she was smart enough that when she saw the ball Senara pull out she understood why she wasn't saying anything. The blue and yellow casing of the Quick Ball was made from apricorns rather than the mass-produced plastic shells of normal ones. They were stronger and special, and this one in particular was perfect for trying to snag this magnificent fish before it got away!
Without so much as a word toward it or a second's hesitation, Senara tossed the ball.
Alomomola were super cute! Elise loved how pink and pretty they were. She wasn’t sure what kind of routines she could perform with one, but that was an afterthought right now. She wanted to do a little training, get more Pokemon, and just…uh….. get out of Bass for a little. Unfortunately for Elise, she’d just missed the ferry to Plum and was left walking along the beach line instead. Maybe some Alomomola would happen to be this close by? She supposed she could go and get Stella flight trained, but that would require running all the way to Birch (wouldn’t it?) so for now she’d try this.
And it just so happened to work this time as her eyes caught sight of something in the distance! Quickly Elise grabbed the right Pokeball from her pocket and released Sparkle the Morpeko. The small Electric Pokemon immediately landed on her shoulder and smiled. Elise smiled a little back. “Look over there! I think I saw an Alomomola! Do you see anything?” she asked pointing that way. Sparkle squinted searching now for any signs of one.
Ah! There it was! Sparkle squeaked and pointed it out again, and Elise’s eyes caught the familiar pink of the Alomomola again. “Hey!” she called loudly. The fist surfaced just enough to see who it was calling out to him before smirking a bit weirdly causing Elise to blink back. Uh, well, ok anyways— “Sparkle! Stage Left!” she called. The Morepiko jumped from her shoulder and landed as close to the water as she was willing to go.
“Thunder Shock!” The shocking rodent Pokemon twirled and sparked with power before releasing the move in a flurry of light. The Alomomola was shocked! Literally! And figuratively! How dare he be attacked! Shaking off the attack, he leapt from the water- high into the air, and then came down to slap the Morpeko a couple of times. Sparkle yelped in surprise falling backwards briefly. Elise squeaked. Thankfully Sparkle was quick to recover again. “Are you ok?” Elise asked anyways. Sparkle gave a thumbs up, and Elise nodded. Ok, ok. They were ok.
Now that they were on land, though. “Sparkle! Use Quick Attack!” Elise called. The Morpeko set all four paws on the ground and then immediately broke into a powered sprint towards the Alomomola crashing into him! He slid back in the sand and huffed a little before releasing a Water Pulse back. The reverberations of sound and water had both Elise and Sparkle cringing, but neither were willing to give up just yet! “Thunder Shock again, Sparkle!” Elise called. The electric light shined again, and this time the Alomomola was paralyzed! Elise took in a confident breath before fishing out a Pokeball and tossing it at the pink fish!
Poof! The ball snapped open, and the Alomomola, still struggling, gave Elise and Sparkle a defiant look! He wouldn’t go down that easily, sweetheart. Forming a reverberation of water again, he sent it crashing towards Sparkle once more. The Morpeko cried out as she was hit. “Sparkle!” Elise started— only for a darkness to seemingly envelope the Morpeko. Turning purple, the Morpeko sat back up and growled aggressively. Oh— Hangry Mode. She’d have to feed her soon!
“Use Thunder Shock again!” Elise called in the meantime. The Morpeko cried out and sparked again releasing the static electricity once more. The Alomomola cringed at the shock— and Elise was picking up the Pokeball that didn’t break and tossing it at the Alomomola again. Would this time be the charm??
