Rumbling out onto the road, first, is that Cufant - with a beautiful (and wow, beautiful indeed,) Ninetails on its heels. Erin extends a hand to catch Buoy by his little bubble of a tail before he can go charging forward, and it's an almost comical moment where his feet waddle but he doesn't move - when he notices, he turns around and stares at Erin, who responds with a small 'shh' motion and tugs him back in closer.[break][break] He'd let them battle it out, and maybe, maaaybe, pick up that Ninetails. As their battle ensues, it's clearly the type advantage that wins out. Ninetail's fire moves put the heat on Cufant, and between Inferno and Incinerate (two awfully dangerous moves he recognizes from contents now and then, though it's not as pretty here,) it isn't long before the elephant Pokemon's sent running for the hills.[break][break] Before the Ninetails can relish her victory, though, Erin whistles for her attention - and lets go of Buoy's tail. "Water Sport!" He calls, while the Pokemon sends out a rush of water around the road; it turns everything to mud, and the Ninetail's paws seem to sink into them. She responds with a curious, thoughtful look to her eye - the glint in which makes Erin think she's got a nasty plot up her sleeves. Not attacking so quickly? She must be confident. Before she can act on this plot of hers, however, Erin calls out, "Water gun, Buoy!"[break][break] A sharp beam of water cuts across the space between them, soaking the fire-type to the bone. It's almost funny, the way her fur sits bogged down on her frame, making her look like a rat with nine tails. With her paws stuck in mud, and her fur weighed down by water, Erin takes his chance. Ninetails were just too pretty to pass up. "Hey, buddy, can you... can you like, wash this off?" Holding the ball out to Buoy, the Pokemon stares back before giving a concentrated splash of water, a weak Water Gun, to Erin's hand and the ball he holds. While it isn't what he expected, it works, and he looks pleased as he pulls his hand back and wipes it off on the front of his sweater.[break][break] "Thanks, bud."[break][break] Tucking the ball away, he gets back on the move, but this time he pays actual attention, rather than staring at his phone the whole time. It's a cute thing, but as much as he thinks he'd like a pretty bunny companion, he's used quite a few of his balls today - and he thinks he'd rather give some of his Pokemon the opportunity to battle. So, reaching into his bag, he produces the ball for Riolu. Tossing her out, she looks spooked - and when she sees Erin, she runs over to him, hiding behind his leg. Well, at least she took to him pretty quickly...[break][break] "Hey, sweetheart. It's alright. I'll make sure you're okay..." Trailing off, he points toward the little Buneary, whose big ears flopped one way, then the other. "Can you use quick attack? Is that something you know?"[break][break] The Riolu looks up at him with uncertain eyes, but nods after a few seconds. With Erin's encouragement, she breathes in and takes a few steps forward, and then - in a flash her body's tackled into the Buneary's - it didn't seem to have expected the fight. It curls up into itself a moment later, in an effort to defend itself, but a subsequent quick attack is all it takes for Lulu to knock the Buneary out. Erin immediately starts to clap for the little Pokemon, and she bashfully brings her little paws up over her eyes. "You're so strong!
