The anticipation for the ball clicking was killing her, she didn't know what her stars would do if the pokemon fizzled back out again! Of course, thankfully, the fates had been in her favour and a stellar click rang out- phew! It seemed Nebula was succesful too, but before she could celebrate she found his attention her and... she was being scolded!? Her eyes widened slightly, uh?! Uhm?! She has to be decisive to be... the perfect trai- oh! A giggle left her, "I don't need to worry about that, star! After-all, i'm not aiming to be a bright trainer like you!" She moved to imitate him, bringing an arm up to pretend to flex her non existant muslces before giggling again and shaking her head. "I'm just glad it worked, i'm not good at battling- but your star guides did amazingly, the fates surely planned the Pichu hatching at the perfect time!"
A smile came to her features as Saber returned the ball, moving to clutch it to her chest for a moment in excitement before gently putting in in the trolley amidst her eggs. She overheard Nebula naming his new baby and paused- oh- oh right! She was quick to move, fishing through her bag before taking out a thermometer. "Do you mind if I check the Pichu's stats- if they'll let me? Sometimes newly hatched pokemon have trouble getting used to the environment outside their egg and get sick..." She'd bring out more to help the Pichu- Rider? Rider. But Nebula was a great star! She was sure he could handle it!
Oh, Novachan was so silly - he watched as she flexed her nonexistent muscles and laughed. "Right, right, of course - your role is to breed and raise the Pokemon, mine is to train them to fight," he said. "I'd say it worked out pretty well, don't you?" He looked over at Rider, who had decided to join in the fun the humans were having - he was trying to flex his muscles as well, but just ended up wobbling over and almost falling off the trolley. [break][break] "Settle down there," Kaisei said. "I admire your ambition, little one, but you won't be getting in too many battles for a while yet." He reached out to pick up the Pichu and hand it over to Eri for inspection. Rider's cheeks sparked, and he darted away from Kaisei. He was not a baby, and did not intend on being treated like one! Kaisei let out a huff. Too much rough handling and he could be shocked, like with his other electric babies - and of course, Novachan would hardly approve. Fortunately, the issue resolved itself when Rider, focused on avoiding Kaisei, teetered on the edge of the cart again, but was scooped up and securely held by Daigo. The Zangoose paid the Pichu no mind as errant bolts of lightning shot from his cheeks, only to fizzle out as he slumped down in Daigo's arms, exhausted. [break][break] "I think he's tuckered out for now. What would you like to check, Novachan?" he asked the young breeder, directing Daigo to pass the baby to her. Eri grinned as Kaisei pointed out their two vastly differnt roles! See, he understood! There was a reason he was such a stellar, bright star! A giggle found a way to bubble out of her at his question as she had shifted, eyes gazing over at her egg trolley and her five eggs before looking back at his pokemon. Yeah, it turned out stellarly! "Of course! I'm glad everything turned out stellarly for you, you were always destined to be a strong and brilliant trainer, after all!" Hands clapped, "And I was destined to help you achieve those dreams!"
The thermometer in her hand was waved as she spoke, before she found it pointing at Nebula. Her smile dropped slightly as she instead drew it closer to herself, a thermometer was a wonderful tool! She shouldn't be waving it around like that! Of course, her smile came back as she saw Kaisei interacting with his newborn. This was what Eri loved to see, such positive interactions between a newborn and their carer. Babies needed a heap of that! Not just pokemon babies, human babies too!!
But of course, Kaisei had to be caeful. It was an electric type after all! Eyes careful watched his interaction, ready to help at any given moment. He was cheeky, and energetic, but like most newborn babies but in a suddenly scary environment the Pichu tuckered out quick, and Eri took him in with welcomed arms to check him over, moving to the side of the path so she could sit down and properly check the baby over.
"...Hey... little guy..." Eri first used the hand method, gently pressing it to his forehead and watching for any peculiar interactions so she didn't unneccesarily get hurt. "We're gonna make sure you're all nice and healthy, okay- and thennn... you can get..." Uh.... she didn't have a treat on her... uhm... eyes moved to Cosma who squawked at her and was quick to fish out a tiny treat from her bag, flying off the end of the trolley and by Eri's side. "One of these!"
Nodding her head, she moed to shift to her thermometer, gently raising it to the Pichu's mouth and hoping it'd either allow her to put it in or do it himself... "Open wide, lil' buddy?"
Kaisei beamed at Eri's words. It was, truth be told, one of the things he most appreciated about her - and he had every reason to believe that it had always been sincere. While the world tore people down, Novachan had made it her life's mission to build them back up. "That's right. We'll achieve our own dreams, working together, won't we? And with our Pokemon as well, of course." He watched as she interacted with the Pichu, lovingly patting him on the head. She did always have a way with Pokemon that he doubted he could ever replicate. So soft, so sweet, while he was all hard edges. Perhaps he would learn the trick of it, but that would be for another day. [break][break] Rider the Pichu was not comfortable with being touched by a strange new human. Or any human, really, but his own trainer seemed to be okay with it? His ears perked up at the mention of a treat. Ah, yes! That must be the reason she had approached him thus, she was going to feed him a treat! So he closed his eyes and opened his mouth wide as requested. "Look at him, what a brave strong boy," he heard his trainer say. Yes, yes, Rider was indeed brave and strong! So it was only right that he be deserving of a reward! [break][break] To his shock he received not a treat, but a cold stick shoved in his mouth. Betrayal! Cruel, vile betrayal! He wanted to cry, but with the thermometer holding down his tongue, he could only let out a strangled wail. Tears pooled at the corners of his eyes, but he would not allow himself to cry. These foolish humans, who had incurred the wrath of the great Rider, would suffer his revenge! Perhaps it would not be today, or even the day after that - but one of these days - he would descend upon them with the fury of a thunderstorm, and bring the lightning crashing down! Awww! The pichu was so cute! He'd be a great partner for Nebula, Eri was sure of it! He opened his little mouth obediantly and Eri gently let the thermometer sit above his tongue, waiting for the temperature to take note. Of course, the Pichu started... tearing up?! Eri's eyes widened, Rider? Wh- why? Was she applying too much pressure? Did the stars decide that he didn't like the feeling? She waited for the thermometer to let out a small ding before she gently retracting it from the Pichu's mouth, sending him her best, most comforting smile!.
"That's a good star guide!" She tried her best to sound comforting, shifting a little to Cosma, who'd gathered a treat from the girl's bag before. The small pokebean was ushered forth and she gently leaned forward to pass it to Rider. "I think a good star guide deserves a treat!" A glance to Nebula, "He's good good temperature readings, so the hatching went well. I'd moniter him for the day for anything abnormal and probably wait an hour or two until he's used to the gravity of the stars before weighing and sizing him!"
Cruel! Unforgivable! The damnable stick was finally removed from the great Rider's mouth, and he could breathe deeply to let out a mighty-- oh? What was this? It was sweet, but also chewy, and altogether delightful. Yes, the promised treat had come at last! The great Rider supposed the strange girl had been sufficiently cowed into expressing supplication. Well, perhaps he could forgive her, this one time. Though she had better bring more beans if she ever dared cross his sight again! [break][break] Speaking of which... the great Rider was feeling very sleepy all of a sudden. His eyes blinked twice, then closed. Well, conquering the world was hard work. He could use a light nap, he supposed... [break][break] Kaisei watched as a small snot bubble began to form out of the Pichu's nose, growing larger and smaller with each breath. Taking the Pichu back from Eri, he placed Rider on a glitter-covered pillow in the trolley. "Monitor him for a day?" he said. "I was going to send him off when we reach the next Pokemon Center, but I suppose I could do that. How hard can it be to watch a sleeping baby anyhow?" He started walking off, and Daigo took it as his signal to follow, still pushing the cart. He made sure to go slow so Eri wouldn't fall behind.
