[attr="class","diamondtext"] Hope was standing next to her, and they were about to go and have some fun. Diamond was dressed up as an alolan ninetails. She could only bring one of her pokemon to the event at the mansion, and of course, she chose Hope. Hope has been with Dia through everything, so why not bring the shiny Popplio? But, Dia wasn't just any old alolan ninetails. No, she had managed to see what Chloe would evolve into one day while traveling, and that is what she designed her costume after. So, here she was, walking into the mansion dressed as a gemstone version of an alolan ninetails. She thought it was fitting.[break][break]Chloe has thought the same when she saw the costume before Dia and Hope left. Looking down at hope, she smiled. "Let's go do the maze first, how does that sound?" The popplio made a happy sound before the two walked over to the start of the maze. From there, they waited to see if someone else wanted to do it. Of course, they could go alone, but what kind of fun would that be. Besides, if Diamond was going to make any head way as a Coordinator here, she needed to start building her fan base, even if they wouldn't remember her, they would know Hope.

@diamondgladstone
Why had she decided to go here? Why, in all of Arciel, did she believe a Halloween party thing of all things would be a good idea to attend? Everything was loud, everywhere she looked people were cozying up to each other on the dance floor, somebody had attempting to drag her off to a dance and she had almost started crying at the spot- she couldn't handle having to go out on the floor, people watching her- people judging her. What if they recognized her?!
No- that's stupid Adelaide! You're not famous enough to get recognized- you're not famous at all. After an attempt to politely decline and a few too many minutes in the bathroom to attempt to get her act together Adelaide had crawled her way back in the hellhole that was this ball. Maybe it was her ballgown and mask that had got peoples attention?
She knew it was a big, fancy event. She knew she'd have to go all out- Tawny had even told her as such over the phone like a week ago! Her costume was inspired by Empoleon, a huge golden mask that turned into a crown, a dress that began as a tuxedo but spiralled into a blue and gold accented ballgown, golden heels... She was in way over her head. She should have known this would be chaos, she should have known she wouldn't have coped-
What if she'd been standing outside the loo for too long?! What if she looked weird? She had to move, she had to breathe. To do something quiet, something where she wouldn't have to focus on so many people, where she didn't have to be scared of a reported in disguise- and where she could take Clauncher out to help her- Clauncher always knew how to help! Her eyes surveyed the area before settling on a staircase- she'd heard... there was a maze. A maze would be quiet. A maze would be somewhere she could get her act together and not overthink to all hell.
A maze was perfect. She found her feet moving before she could even blink, up the staircase and letting out her beloved Nymph. Said pokemon could see her shaking, see the fear that ghosted in her eyes, and with a soft coo quickly fell into step besides her, nipping at her dress as an offer for support. However, as she got to the top, to the entrance... she noticed a girl. No! No! Nobody was supposed to be here, nobody should be here- she just wanted....
Her hands flew infront of her chest and she took a few shaky steps forward. She had to speak now. She had to speak or else the fancy dressed lady would judge her, she'd say terrible things and throw her to the tepigs. 'U-Uhm..." Her voice shook more than it should, and she found herself clutching her hands together tighter, if only to hide her shaking. "...Are... you d-doing the maze too?"
[attr="class","diamondtext"] Ah, someone else was coming to do the maze. The alolan ninetails looked at the Empoleon inspired person and she smiled a sweet smile. "Why, yes, yes I am. Do you want to come with? Might make it a little better for you." The shiny popplio beside her was just eyeing the young girl a little bit, before she made an excited sound with a bit of a jump with it. That made Dia laugh lightly. "Look, even Hope would love for you and your Clauncher to come with us." With that, Dia was hoping that the girl was going to agree. It would make the maze a little easier, or at least, that it what the coordinator was thinking.[break][break]She gave the girl a few more minutes to think before she nodded lightly. "Right, if you want to come with, please feel free to follow me." She flashed another smile before she and Hope started to walk forward. This was going to be the start of a wonderful new friendship, right? Well, that was only going to be able to happen if the Empoleon followed her.

As the lady invited her to come with Adelaide all but froze up- her? Adelaide would probably make a fool of herself if it was halloween themed- she'd probably cry and get makeup all over the backside of her mask, and Clauncher's nipping would be unable to anchor her back into reality. But the lady seemed nice, and her shiny Popplio, Hope, seemed eager for the company too! That.... she'd feel bad if she said no now, she knew she would- something felt familiar, like she'd heard of the Popplio before, but she didn't dwell on it. There was no point!
The lady continued speaking, beginning to start herself forward and Adelaide's hands went to the top part of her dresses buttons, fidgiting for a brief moment. She'd make a fool of herself- she could already tell- and if the lady got a gust of who she was she could ruin her, trash her name and stomp all (which was literally nothing) that she'd accomplished in this region- she guessed that, at the very least, she could be thankful for the costume.
If she wasn't going to dance in it, she could be glad that it still covered a lot of her and made it difficult to tell who she was. Which was... freeing, in itself- but still! She didn't know if she could cope with the terror- what if she got so scared she kicked something?! It had happened to a poor sailor back home when she was little, what if-
A soft pinch followed by a pokemon cry behind her set her into motion- right. Right. Wasting time. Wasting time would make the lady probably hate her more, she didn't want that- she just wanted a place quieter than the hellhole downstairs. With a nod to Clauncher, and her arms returning to her side she weakly called, "O-Okay... coming..." before following after the lady.
She seemed nice enough- so.. hopefully it'd be fine- hopefully everything would be fine.
You enter a room with walls lined with shelves containing all sorts of spooky oddities. To one side is a bubbling cauldron watched over by a Mismagius, and next to it a wrack of ingredients with a sign: "Complete the brew." Use the big wooden spoon to stir in ingredients, making a Cooking roll! All players work on it together.
[attr="class","diamondtext"] This child was so nervous, Dia found it kind of adorable. She remembered when she was that nervous, of course, that had quickly faded after she started to win her contests. No need to be nervous when you are the best. Just thinking on that made her think about how the interviewer looked when Dia first came to Arciel. The interviewer seemed to think that something was wrong with Dia, but there wasn't. Dia was Dia. She was amazing and beautiful and talented. Way more talented than those nobody's who she was related to. But enough thinking on that. She looked behind her to see that the girl was now following.[break][break]Dia offered a small and sympathetic smile. She could tell that the other girl was just too nervous, that was something that she would just have to grow out of. She slowed her pace for a moment to allow for the other person to catch up, only for them to soon stop at the first room. Dia took a breath before she walked in and looked around. Cauldron, ghost pokemon, ingredients, and a large spoon. Well, this shouldn't be too horrible for someone who made her own puffins and stuff for contests right?[break][break]"Well, it looks like we are going to be cooking for this one. Here goes nothing." She grabbed a few of the ingredients and started to stir the pot, adding them in one by one. Hoping that the other girl would do the same with the rest of the ingredients.

Adelaide was hot on the ladies heels, as least... she assumed she was a lady? It was hard to tell the ages of people when they're all dressed up, to be honest. But still, she was thankful when the women shortened her pace and allowed her to catch up- it'd be awful if she ran out of breath before she'd even begun the maze- what if she ran out of breath and she had to run? Weren't like... spooky areas like that? Not that she'd ever been, no matter how much Tawny tried to drag her out of the house but... that's what she'd heard. The women even smiled at her, almost in understanding- was Adelaide that obvious- that she was nervous?!
She fidgetted as she walked in, Clauncher staying pace with her and offering any support needed.Soon enough they came across a room, fit to look like some kind of witches lair! Her gaze flickered from thing to thing, was there a task involved? Something to do? What if they just intruded in this pokemons house?!
Her thougths quickly snapped off as Clauncher showed her where the other women had wondered, over towards the cauldren- was there something there, maybe? Her eyes ghosted the ingredients list as the lady basically summarised what they were doing- cooking? Adelaide loved cooking- even if she'd never admit it.
She took after her mum like that, taking over family meals, cooking surprised dinners for her dad after he'd come home from one of his sea voyages, maybe they acted over enthusiastic to make ADelaide feel better about herself whenever she cooked- they... probably did, but maybe she could... attempt this without messing it up?
Gathering up the ingredients, she moved forward, "I-I'm used to cooking for my family, actually... s-so uh... this shouldn't be too bad..."
The Mismagius seems pleased with the brew! She takes a taste, then gathers 4 Rare Candies [each] from one of her shelves to give you. Onto the next room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a room littered with pumpkins! Small, medium, and large pumpkins cover the floor, without leaving a clear walkway. Several Pumpkaboo watch from the sidelines. Make 3 Dexterity rolls to see if you can navigate through the pumpkins without tripping on the vines and squishing any. The Pumpkaboo will probably forgive you if you can't make it completely, but still be careful.
Post by Adelaide Gladstone on Nov 13, 2019 2:11:57 GMT
They got it right! An excited glint flashed across Adelaide's glasses and she let out a soft cheer, turning to face the purple haired stranger- only to find them, and their pokemon had dissapeared?! A hand flew to Adelaide's mouth- where had they gone?Did they- were they in the cauldren?! Adelaide moved ever quickly, ignoring the shady look from the Mismagious to peer in, aybe she'd fallen in and got boiled- no. No signs of her. Adelaide was shaking, she couldn't do this maze alone! It was going to be scary, it was... it was going to be halloween themed, which mean... Oh she couldn't handle a jumpscare. Maybe the girl left her because she was weak, aybe she was just... waiting in the other room- maybe- hopefully. Softly thanking the Mismagious, and trying to ignore the sick feeling in her gut Adelaide moved forward.
...A pumpkin room? And there were... pumpkin pokemon, staring at her. She looked around for a moment but... the girl... she... wasn't here either? Adelaide's gaze was panicked, and her hands flew to her chest. Clauncher attempted to nip at her dress, wanting to calm her down but the girl had begun to shake, countless possibilities flowing through her head- maybe... Maybe the girl had gone to the room after this one? Which meant she had to... to get to the exit- which should be fine! It should just be... on the other side of these pumpkins.
Nodding to herself in an attempt to focus, she moved to pick up Clauncher in her arms- it's okay. It's okay, this wasn't a scary room, she just had to.. go around the pumpkins.Moving forward, starting by attempting to go over a large one she moved, lifting one foot, and...
You squish two pumpkins. The Pumpkaboo are pretty annoyed, but they forgive you... barely. You're not getting any reward though. Oh well! Onto the next room!
An event has occurred!
@diamondgladstone
You squish three pumpkins. The Pumpkaboo grow furious, not even letting you finish trying to cross! They screech, and everything goes black except for their lights spinning around you. You can barely see straight for the noise. Suddenly, everything is quiet and you are back outside the maze. You have been ejected.
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a room that seems to have only a pit between you and the door on the other side. The backlit plaque at the front reads: "Have faith… and careful footing."
If you step out or carefully test it, you will find the entire thing solid, just invisible, against the door side of the pit, but only for a few feet. After that, it changes into a more narrow winding path. Make 3 Dexterity rolls.

She hadn't done too good, oh Arceus... Guilt ripped through her conscious with each pumpkin she stumbled over, and Clauncher had gently coo'd at her chest in an attempt to get her to calm down, trying to tell her that it was alright and this was expected to happen- the room was set up for chaos afterall. She tried to ignore the glares and upset faces of the Pumpkaboo's as she fled, and tried to keep her mind on the positives-
Was squashing a pumpkin like squashing their family?! Oh- oh no- Adelaide began to shake more, sniffling, how... she was so cruel, and utterly overwhelmed. Clauncher let out another coo, curling their head closer to Adelaide and attempting to soothe her spirits, it would all be okay, Addy!
She had been fully expecting the dolled up lady to be in the room ahead, but again was met with nothing but a.. there was... no floor?! Arceus, was she... supposed to jump? Adelaide couldn't survive a jump like this, and she was too young to die from this sort of thing! She had moved, putting her foot out as if to test if it really was a huge hole, and if she'd have to attempt to take the plunge, only pausing upon feeling.. Something solid? A path!
She moved to further test, discovering that the solid bit was only to one side- which meant... Wall hugging. Clauncher was obviously smaller than her, so she had the pokemon stay behind her- this was a bad idea, this was a bad idea- hug the wall, Adelaide! Surely the purple haired girl is up further!
You manage to make it across the path to the other side of the room, and the door opens! Onto the next room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a dimly lit room with three doors. In front of each door is an Eeveelution, one Vaporeon, one Flareon, and one Jolteon. A backlit plaque near the entrance reads: "Two tell lies. One tells the truth." Make a perception roll. (This is not tied to a Skill, it's just a flat die roll.)
Post by Adelaide Gladstone on Nov 22, 2019 6:12:25 GMT
It felt like ages of egging herself forward and encouraging nips from Clauncher before she made it across the invisible path, and she let out a shaky breath she hadn't realized had been stuck in her throat- that was terrifying- utterly, completely terrifying. Maybe... maybe the girl was up ahead, maybe? Possibly? Probably? What... what if the girl just left her here- what if she was being recorded?! What if this was all set up to mess with her? Addy moved a hand up to her mouth and anxiously chewed on one of her nails, closing her eyes- forwards, forwards... forwards...
How could she continue forwards? Did she... no. She had to. Clauncher had began walking ahead of her, encouragingly leading her forward. This was it- maybe... maybe she was up ahead? Walking into the room Adelaide lowered her hand and looked around, eyes quickly spotting the eeveelutions. Oh- they were so cute!? The girl glanced at them all before mmoving to play with them, not reading the sign just yet. A scratch behind the ear for one, a soft hand over the back for another... who could resist the cute charm of the eevee line? Not Adelaide, that's for sure.
Clauncher, who'd been sitting back and watching everything go down begin nipping their claws, snapping Adelaide out of what she was doing- this was a Maze! They had things to do! Right... right... Addy moved backwards to read the plaque, immediately confused... two lie, and one tells the truth? What could that even mean?
"D-Do...I have to ask them q-questions?" She tilted her head, glancing to the trio who all stared at her curiously, "Uh- well- did you g-guys evolve from an eevee?" she waited to see who'd give a positive response, and would go down their path.
It's almost hidden by the dark lighting, but you notice the Jolteon has a Zorua's tail! Furthermore, you can see that the Flareon has cyan slitted eyes like a Zoroark! That leaves only the Vaporeon! Will you go through its door?
Note: Your partner may not know about the Zorua or Zoroark unless you tell them.
Post by Adelaide Gladstone on Nov 24, 2019 5:51:42 GMT
Oooh, that's what was meant by lying! As she waited for a response from the pokemon, only the Vaporeon seemed keen to answer, a soft coo leaving it's lips, while the other two appeared... off somehow. A hand moved to push through her hair and Addy let out a soft noise, glancing at the two off eevelutions before back at the vaporeon- she hoped they weren't mad that she would go down this way! Would they curse her, would they say mean things to the other pokemon as she went away? Would they hurt the vaporeon?! Did the stranger get the puzzle right too- was she on the other si-
Clauncher nipped at her skirt again and rubbed their head into her leg, quickly breaking her free from her spiraling thoughts. Calm, Addy! The girl wondered the room for a moment, pausing to gently pat the two off eevelutions with a soft "S-Sorry..." leaving her lips before she wondered over to where the Vaporeons door was, and with a nervous jitter moved to open the door and continue forth.
As you open the door, the other two Eeveelutions revert to a Zorua and Zoroark! The foxes all cheer for you. Onto the next room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a room more brightly lit than the others. It looks like a child's room, and a soft melody plays. There are 3 creepy dolls sitting on a shelf in the middle of the room, with a box of doll clothes beneath them. The clothing options are: Doctor, Princess, Cowgirl, Ballerina, Unicorn Onesie, Superheroine, Fairy. A sign beneath the dolls reads: "Dress me!" Each doll has a riddle attached.
Doll 1: Whimsy and wonder lie deep in her heart, and no untruths will she impart. Be careful, though, to listen well, for danger comes in an honest shell.
Doll 2: Across the plains and fields of green, she surely is a tough lil bean. With PokePartners she takes the lead, whether the 'mon are worker or steed.
Doll 3: To care for all of those in need, to do what she must she has agreed. Though it may hurt, it's necessary. Trust her, her smarts are legendary.
Special note: Staff characters must roll a special die and get 30 or higher for their character to figure out the puzzle, since they know the answer. Remove this if no one is staff.

As soon as Adelaide entered the room she felt chills run up her spine- literal chills. The Alolan Ninetails wasn't anywhere in sight, and all that she saw were.. weird.. creepy children light things- was this supposed to be a kids bedroom? Even the melody that seemed to bounce off the walls around her send the girl into a spin- it was as if something would jump out at her at any minute! She'd... she'd come up here to get a breather from people and be able to focus, but this- this was probably even more terrifying! That's when her eyes found the dolls, and she gulped back a whimper. They were staring at her- would they hurt her? Would they come alive and-
No! Adelaide, don't be stupid! Maybe- maybe the girls just... up ahead? She moved towards the dolls hesitant, Clauncher cooing gently at her heels in an attempt to keep her calm, and she read everything laid out- dressing up dolls... like... what she used to do with her sisters, before everything went mad.
Okay- alright... This was fine, she just had to pretend they weren't staring at them and dress them up! Okay.. the first doll was... whimsy and wonder- which meant something unnatural? Like- not usual, probably. She pulled through the clothes for a moment and found both a unicorn costume and a fairy costume, but was stuck on which one. After reading through the clue again, she decided upon the Fairy one- they were close enough to fae, right? From what she heard Fae were devlish, tricky beings but.. lies got them banished- at least that's what the sailors would tell her, though maybe she just got them confused with Sirens...
The next clue took a few moments to piece together, it almost sounded like they were describing a farmer, however the bit about steed caused her mind to go directly to cowgirl- which she quickly dressed the doll up in. The moved to the next one just as quickly- care... doctor or nurse? Yeah! She quickly grasped at the doctor costume and pulled it over the doll, settling it down next to the other two before pushing her hands back to her chest and fidgiting..
You hear a sound of slightly creepy but happy laughter before the door slides open. Congratulations! Onto the next room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a room that is lit only by a large moon-shaped light in the center of the ceiling, tiny LED stars that cover the rest of the ceiling like a night sky, and one dimly backlit plaque with instructions: "Pick a partner and sing".
A Midday, Midnight, and Dusk form Lycanroc sit around the room, howling at the false moon. Each has a small barrel hanging from their neck. Choose a Lycanroc and make a Performance roll!
Post by Adelaide Gladstone on Nov 24, 2019 8:01:23 GMT
The laughter was ominous but... the door slid open! That was good, right?! Right... maybe... maybe the girl was up ahead? She could only hope... Biting back another shiver she continued forward into a peculiar looking room, eyes wide as she glanced around. This was actually... kinda pretty? She clasped and unclasped her hands, only just noticing the wolf pokemon around the room.A-Ah, it'd be rude not to uh, greet them... right? "...H...Hello..." She managed out, by this time she'd realizing that there was always a plaque to read and made her way towards it...
Singing!? She- she had to... had to... sing? A lump formed in her throat- but... what... what if the pokemon hated her singing?! She'd sung for sailors before, she'd been taught folk tunes by her mum but.. did she really.. have to? Clauncher nipped her encouragingly and the girl stiffed back her hesitations. Now was not the time, she... she had to find the girl.
Her eyes gravitated to the dusk form Lycanrock and hesitantly she moved forward, offering her hand. "U-Uhm... I pick you!" a smile to her voice- as much as she was terrified, she loved singing, and was all and said and done, readied herself. Right- okay-
Taking a deep breath, she started to carry the first note.
Your howling does not impress, but the Lycanroc allows you to pass at least. Onto the next room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a room which at first appears eerily empty save for an ornate coffin lying in its center. You hear a faint sound from above, and realize the ceiling is littered with sleeping, hanging Golbat. There are three small puzzles attached to the coffin. Make a Dexterity roll so see if you can successfully align all the proper pieces. You only need to solve as many puzzles as there are players.
