Eleven hours into a twelve-hour shift at the PokeCenter, and Sid was staring at the clock begging it to move faster. They’d been there since six that morning, and now it was almost six at night. Four emergencies back to back to back had been more than a little rough, and if they didn’t have to see a particularly volatile Magby for a few days, it would be too soon. A few of the fingers on their burned hand were still numb. At least one of the other nurses was kind enough to help them take care of it.
“You know the head nurse would probably let you go early if you wanted Sid…” A nurse stepped into the break room and broke Sid’s half-awake half-asleep trance. Sitting up in the almost-too-small chair that belonged to the break room’s table, they leaned over said table and rubbed their face slowly with their better hand.
“I know,” they answered softly. But shift-change was coming. It was almost there. And then they would walk off upstairs to the rooms not made for examination, but travelers lay and crash. Then they could head home the next day. “Has the rain stopped yet?” they asked. The other nurse looked sideways at them and shook her head.
“No not yet…”
Good, maybe they could open a window upstairs too then.
This wasn't the first time Sonia had worked twelve hour shifts, and she knew full well it wouldn't be her last. But why was it that the last hour dragged on and on and felt like it was trying to keep her there forever? Sure there had been several emergencies that had really stolen the time away, but that didn't mean that the last hour had to compensate for it! One of the nurses had gotten hurt too, something Sonia wasn't proud had happened, but at least they had been treated quickly enough.
Sonia didn't really need to head to the break room, but did anyway so that she could grab a quick drink. And she always had a bottle of water in her locker in the break room. She felt bad, not wanting to interrupt the conversation of the two already in there so Sonia slipped around the other in her nearly soundless manner. She already felt like she was intruding even if the break room was for everyone.
Then the topic turned to the weather, and Sonia's expression turned almost comical. Eyes wide, jaw dropping as her hands froze in the middle of what they were doing. Which in this case was adjusting the bun made of her twin braids which began to unravel until they fell to their full length.
"What?!" Sonia could not help but mentally exclaim, her mental voice having lost some of it's echoey effect with practice. However it still didn't sound quite right, but it was all Sonia had in an environment where she needed to communicate. "It's still raining?! That sucks, I was going to ride my Ponyta home tonight." She frowned quite heavily as she put her water bottle back. It wasn't too terribly far, but she didn't want to catch a chill.
And Valiant had been looking forward to it too....
Sid hadn’t quite processed another person entering the breakroom by the time Sonia’s exclamation hit their ears (or rather their brain). Jolting, they sat upright and twisted around to look back over their shoulder at her. “Oh…” When had she gotten there? Ah well. “Hey there, Sonia.”
“Last I checked, it’s supposed to rain all the way until five in the morning,” the other nurse commented causing Sid to twist back around and look at her. “I’m getting a cab home when shift changes.”
Sid nodded back at the nurse. “I wasn’t planning on going home tonight, not when there’s rooms upstairs,” they smiled a little. The other nurse would have said something else but her pager beeped, and she was quick to sigh and wave off her own words before heading out of the break room. Sid sighed softly and glanced back towards Sonia. “Ah… are you going to text a cab? Do you need someone to call?” They weren’t sure… how that worked exactly.
Oh no, she did it again. It wasn't nice to sneak up on people, and in her desire to not interrupt the conversation had done just that. Sonia gave a very sheepish smile and a little wave. Whoops, sorry! "Hey Sid, uh, sorry about that." She apologized, her fingers instantly picking up her braids to nervously fiddle with the end of it.
Her smile faded, instead her teeth picking at her lip. This was quite some storm they wre having then. Everything was going to be soaked. At least Sid had a plan to stay safe, now she just needed to figure out what she wanted to do.
"No, thanks for the offer though. I think I'll be fine walking. I don't live too terribly far away. And I have an umbrella." The word was drawn out as she pulled out said umbrella. With one of it's arms dangling loose where it had snapped. "Oh, right. A Nincada fell on it and broke it." Sonia sighed, letting the broken umbrella dangle by it's string.
Okay, so maybe she would need a cab, but she also had eggs downstairs that she needed to bring home. Teeth worked at her lip. Maybe Sid had the right idea. Why leave when there were plenty of rooms upstairs that weren't getting used? And then there was a flash from outside, with a very loud clap of thunder that sounded very close.
"I think you have the right idea of borrowing a room actually! And it's only for a night, just got to let my roommate know what's going on. And I have some eggs that I have to pick up. Audi was looking after them for me." The last bit was more Sonia thinking out loud, thoughts running around in their usual fashion until something jarred to the front of her mind.
"How's your hand doing?" She asked, blue eyes widening slightly as she looked at it worriedly.
Ah, it was good she had an umbre— nevermind— Sid’s brows furrowed as they saw the umbrella, and their eyes flickered from it up to Sonia’s face again as she explained what had happened. “Oh dear.” That raised some questions, but Sid really didn’t need the answers right then.
Sid was about to make a suggestion again when every hair on their entire body decided to stand on end at once courtesy of a flash of light and a clap of thunder. That. That had been close. That had been wickedly close. I hope we don’t lose power… No. No the center had backup generators to begin with and backup Pikachu on top of that. They were fine right now. Their eyes flicked back to Sonia again in concern.
Ah, oh good. She wasn’t thinking of running out into this mess. Sid breathed a small sigh of relief. “Ah nice.” As she went on, however, they blinked a couple of times half wondering what was and wasn’t directed at them.
They’d been about to ask when she asked about their hand. Looking down at the bandaged fingers, they smiled a little weakly. “They’ll be alright….” they started slowly twisting their hand around to the pads that had suffered the brunt of the baby’s flames. “Nothing a little time won’t fix on its own…” They half laughed at that. “I hope that trainer learns to reel in their Pokemon though….” they admitted with a softer sigh. A shake of head was given as if to clear it. “What eggs are you caretaking right now?” they asked with a small smile instead. That was a lot more fun to talk about.
Whoops! She felt so awkward right now, blushing as she realized how much she had just rambled off. That was something she still needed to work on, not cutting off the thread of communication but at least dimming it so that stray thoughts didn't get out. But having something else to focus on helped.
Sonia nodded, still looking a little worried. "I hope so too. Fire can be dangerous enough on it's own. But an untrained Pokemon can be that much more dangerous. Do you need new bandages? Or more cream if they still hurt? I really don't mind helping if you need it." Sonia offered, knowing full well that taking care of one of your own injuries wasn't the easiest. Especially when it was on your hands, more so your dominant one. Was Sid ambidextrous? That would surely help.
Oh! Her eggs. And Sid seemed much happier to talk about them. "I have two of them. I was told one of them is a Treecko, and the other one is going to be an Eevee. I think they are both close to hatching too, I've had them for awhile already. Do you have any at the moment?" She offered, just to keep the conversation going as she grabbed another sip of water, and switched the jacket of her uniform for her own personal sweater. She had to struggle for a second to pull her braids out so that they fell over her shoulders. They needed a good brushing out too....
Sid thumbed over their bandaged fingers slowly. They did vaguely hurt but only in a sort of when-attention-was-drawn-to-them way. “I’m ok right now,” Sid assured after a moment more. They could probably afford to put some more burn cream on in a couple of hours, but over-slathering it in the meantime would just make it impossible to hold anything.
They were happy for the change in subject. A Treecko and an Eevee. Those were some rare and special Pokemon for sure. “Not at the moment, actually,” they’d answer the question as it was posed to them. “I haven’t hatched an egg of my own in a while now… huh…” they realized aloud before frowning. That was a shame. They always loved when baby Pokemon hatched, and here they were eggless. A tragedy. “Maybe I’ll have to make a note to look into what the local breeders have been up to next time I have some time…” they chuckled a little at that.
Thinking of an Eevee, however, had them also thinking of Angel their Espeon, and Sid’s features fell a little again. They really hoped she was settling in with them ok. She seemed to be? But every once in a while she’d give… a look…. And it just… Two hands raised and squished Sid’s cheeks a couple of times in rapid succession. They were fine. It was fine. “Do you have a favorite Eeveeloution?” they asked after a moment.
Well, Sid's hand was fine, and as much as Sonia was worried about it she knew it was time to let it drop. You couldn't force someone into receiving treatment, especially if they didn't actually need it. And even if Sid did, it still wasn't right to force treatment on someone. Maybe if she was going to be around them for awhile she'd keep some gentle mental tabs on their pain level. Though she wouldn't push it too far of course! She nodded, letting the topic drop for good now.
Her head tilted at Sid's reply. They sounded almost disappointed in that fact right now that they didn't have any eggs. Even more so that they hadn't hatched anything in awhile. But... why? Sonia hadn't actually hatched anything yet, and the books she had read were more factual in nature. Was there something that she was missing? Well, probably the fact that little baby Pokemon sounded cute. Sonia smiled before nodding again. "Never hurts to keep an eye out! Especially if there is something around that you are interested in as a trainer." She encouraged with a soft smile and tilt of her head.
Oh? Sonia's confusion became evident on her face as Sid slipped into an unhappier expression, almost worried or sad judging by a brief feel of their mind. Not that Sonia wanted to pry too much, and as much as she knew not everyone could be happy all the time, of there was something that she could do to help, she wanted to do it. But that also didn't seem to be needed, Sonia caught off guard and giggling softly as they patted their cheeks. What was that all about? But she didn't have time to ask as a question was directed her way.
"I don't really have a favorite that I can think of." She paused, lips pursing as she glanced to the ceiling for a moment and shrugged. "I think they are all pretty cool or cute actually. I couldn't really pick a favorite, though it could be Vaporeon. Or maybe Espeon or a Sylveon too. I already have a Vaporeon, though I think I'd also be interested in training a few of the others. Especially an Espeon, Leafeon or Sylveon. Though, I also want to leave the choice up to the little one. It might be fun to just train an Eevee as is." Sonia giggled again. "What sort of Pokemon do you like to train? Right now I'm leaning towards psychic, water and grass types." She asked curiously, they still had a few minutes until shift change showed up and got settled. Maybe after they they could go downstairs and gather up her eggs before heading to their respective rooms.
Or maybe they could hang out for a bit? That sounded nice.
Oh? Sid’s lips quirked a little as Sonia described how hard it was to pick a favorite. Vaporeon, Espeon, or Sylveon… or Leafeon. Heh. As Sonia continued, however, Sid found themselves paused by her words. Leave the choice up to the little one. “That’s wholesome…” It was almost a whisper then.
As the question was transformed and returned to them, Sid paused and looked up thoughtfully. “Etto…ettoo... Well…” They tilted their head as they considered their party for a few more seconds before looking down again. “I have quite a mixture of Pokemon now… but… I really just…. like cute Pokemon…” Soft pink came to their cheeks, but Sid hardly noticed it. It wasn’t necessarily that they were embarrassed by this personal revelation but more of just the reality of fully realizing it themselves.
“You’ve seen Nurse the Audino with the purple keycard and Graces the Blissey with the white nametag around the clinic. They’re actually mine,” Sid smiled a little.
It was getting quite hard to resist the temptation to get closer to Sid's mind. It wasn't anything malicious, it was just out of curiosity. Just the brief brushes Sonia was getting felt so different, and she just wanted to understand them better. But it was rude to go any further than what she was doing without permission. And honestly, she was too nervous too. She didn't want to ruin what was already building between them, it was small as it was and Sonia didn't want to lose what she hoped was a friend.
Though what did they mean by wholesome? It sounded like a good thing.
And now, they were blushing? Had she gone too far? She didn't mean to embarrass them? "There is nothing wrong with that?" She piped up softly, bending over to try and make eye contact so they could see her smile. Like she would judge anyone for that. "There is nothing wrong with only picking Pokemon you think are cute. That's one of the things that I've learned as a trainer, and that is you can train as little, or as many Pokemon as you want, for whatever reason you want." Her smile deepened, one of her braids slipping over her shoulder before she was standing upright again.
"I personally have a Slowpoke that I think is quite adorable. I named him Ceecee because his tail reminds me of candy corn." She giggled, smiling brightly as she encouraged them to not be so embarrassed (or what she perceived as embarrassment) for their choice of Pokemon.
Then her smile faded, turning into a circle of surprise. She clapped a little, doing a bounce on the spot with excitement. "You're Nurses's trainer? I got to work with them earlier today! They were such a good partner and have such a focused mind, very easy to read." She complimented.
Sonia was then startled, jumping only the slightest bit before she was looking to the break room door and frowning a bit. "Shift change is here." She spoke softer, wincing a little before the door opened and a few other figures walked in. One of them being a man, an older, grifter sort of man who towered over the shorter girl who very quickly scampered out of the way to be closer to Sid.
The man grunted, glaring down at Sonia before he was grabbing his items from his lockers, the other two said hi but also focused on getting their things to get ready for the shift ahead.
"Shall we get going since they are here? I was going to ask what you did for hobbies before they got here." Sonia questioned, her mental voice still softer as she avoided looking at the man.
As blue eyes fixed on their red ones, Sid stared for a moment before slowly smiling back. “Ah…. true….” they answered softly. She was… so passionate, and they appreciated that.
The mention of Slowpoke, however, had Sid smirking just a bit. “Did you know the end of their tails produces a sugary substance used to attract prey when they fish?” they asked. “You can actually safely harvest it from them and put it in things like tea in place of honey.” Kanto had a sort of black mark in regards to Slowpoke, but that was back before Sid had solid memories of it. As far back as they remembered conservation and humanitarian efforts had made consumption safer.
The recognition caught Sid off-guard, and they blinked a couple of times before nodding. “Yeah.” What followed had them smiling warmly. Nurse was always such a good caretaker Pokemon as it was, but hearing it out loud was always nice. “I’m glad.”
Before much more could be said, however, shift change arrived. The door opened, and Sid found themselves looking up at an older man and some others. They smiled a little and gave a wave even as the man grunted and walked on to his locker. Their eyes then flicked back to Sonia again— only to pause and stare at her features. She looked… afraid? Or something? “Yeah let’s go,” Sid answered standing.
They quickly grabbed a few things out of their own locker before heading out with Sonia. Only once they were headed down to retrieve the latter’s eggs did Sid speak again. “Are…. You ok?” they asked. They knew she’d asked about hobbies, but…
There! Sid was smiling again! That was what she liked to see, Sid looked so much better when they were smiling. Though there was something about that slightest bit of pink to their cheeks that made them look... made them look...
Sonia wasn't sure? It was hard to describe, but there was something about it she liked? Like they didn't look bad? And now, now a smirk? There was a definite pang in her chest for a second, eyes staring at Sid with wonder. They looked... good. There was a confidence there that seemed right. Never mind the fact that they knew such an interesting fact. "Wow." Her voice was like a murmur in their mind, amazed and curious. "I knew that they tend to stick their tails in water, but I thought it was just that eventually a Shellder grabbed it of their own volition. Not that it was actually their tail that did it." She pondered for a second. "Now I'm curious what it would be like if I licked it. But, that's also probably really super weird isn't it?" She couldn't help but giggle at the absurdity of the idea.
And Nurse. Nurse was such a dedicated... well, nurse! It actually almost made Sonia interested in seeing if an Audino was willing to partner with her. Weren't they also known for being empathetic and the like? It might be nice to have another Pokemon like that on her team.
Especially in situations like this. The man, his mind that was blocked off by an obsidian wall. Dark, spiked, unfriendly. The most closed off mind she had met, even ranking above her mother. As much as Sonia wanted to get her water bottle from her locker, she was quite scared. Her hand trembling but she darted for it anyway before hurrying out of the room. Her steps small, shoulders hunched slight at first though she began to relax some as they moved away. She could get her eggs now, got to think happy thoughts!
And of course Sid noticed her unease and she felt a little horrible for Sid seeing her like that. A workplace was no place for drama. "For the most part," She admitted, biting her lip before skipping down some stairs. "Gorde... doesn't like psychics. At all. Even this level of communication," She gestured between the two of them, "Is an 'invasion of privacy' to him. He's one of those people who believes that in order to speak like this that I have to be in your head to do. Which I sort of am, but it's more like, I'm thinking at you, not with you?" She tried to explain, teeth working at her lip and fingers wrapping the nearest material between them which in the case was the tip of her braid.
"Like, I can only hear you if you're thinking loudly, or I'm really paying attention or really looking, which I don't because that is just rude and poor psychic etiquette. And, you'd actually feel it. You'd notice it. But with his way of thinking of it, it makes his mind, and therefore presence, a very unpleasant place to be." Sonia ended up rambling a bit, the girl still quite nervous until they reached the end of the stairs.
"It's not uncommon for people to think that way though. But, I needed an effective way to communicate at work." Sonia finished, shaking her head. "I'm sorry, that was way too much too quick wasn't it?"
She really felt like she had screwed up any potential friendship with Sid now. Obviously they would hate her now with the information she had given them. Right?
Sid’s lips slowly pressed together as they listened to Sonia’s explanation. Oh… Huh. They didn’t stop walking but did very briefly look back over their shoulder towards the break room. Sid… Sid could not relate. They’d grown up in Saffron City of all places where the density of natural human psychics was probably higher than any other city in the region if not the world. Having a psychic ‘in their head’ was far not normal but not rare either. They supposed in retrospect to someone not used to it… it could be scary.
Sonia’s mental ramblings cut into Sid’s own thoughts, however, and they refocused again on her quickly. Ah, yeah. That made sense. She probably had to jump through a lot more hoops with people than what those in Saffron faced…. And feel a lot more othered in the process. Hm….. They wondered if letting the manager know or not would be make things easier or worse. Sid pushed it from their mind for now. Right then, they wanted to focus more on Sonia herself.
“Don’t worry about it,” they assured her softly. “Saffron City, my home in Kanto, is actually one of the highest density cities of Psychics in the world. Our gym is even the Psychic gym. I know... quite a bit about psychics, actually.” They paused and hummed a little as they looked forward to make sure they didn’t walk into anything immediately. “I’m sorry you’re dealing with that, though. It sounds tough,” their eyes drifted back to her again, and they smiled. “From now on I’ll have your back with him.” They smiled warmer at that.
They were nearing the bottom of the stairs, the front desk almost in sight. Her heart still skipped a beat with the realization that this meant a job well done, even if the weather was less than pleasant. She still had a place to stay, she could see her eggs. And maybe, just maybe she could let Valliant out for a bit. Or Mana, or Ceecee, or even that Eiscue she hadn't named yet. Though it would be a shame to leave Mizune out of the fun, but surely a Lapras, even a small one, couldn't fit in a room.
And Sid, well, Sid was brightening up her gloomy day a bit. She was actually a little shocked when the words spoken by them were not what she had figured they would be. But it was also a huge relief. They were from Saffron city, a city known for it's psychic type Pokemon, psychic type gym and people with psychic abilities. Sonia had only read about Saffron City, it never being one of the places her mother was willing to go due to aversion to psychics.
"Wow. Thank you, that actually means a lot. And it's not that tough. I can usually avoid Gorde, I don't work the same shifts as him because believe it or not, but he went and talked to the manager. So the only time I really see him is days like today." Sonia tapped her lips as she remembered that conversation. She shook her head a bit. "For the most part, I still don't really tell people outside of work. Not yet, not until I'm a bit more confident in my powers and using them, even though they are considered weak." She shrugged and smiled.
Then she remembered a huge fact about Saffron City and her eyes widened. "Wait... does that mean you at least know of Sabrina?"
Another distraction, but she could get her eggs in a few minutes.

Oh? Sid blinked a couple of times surprised to hear of Gorde’s own actions to keep himself from having to react around Sonia. For as bigoted as that still was, at least he was secluding himself from her, they supposed. “Well that’s good then,” they answered. As Sonia mentioned not telling people outside of work, however, Sid frowned. They supposed if she was shy about that sort of thing it made sense, but at the same time if it was her only way to communicate then…?
This thought was interrupted with a far more exciting prospect. “AHHHH! Yes Sabrina-sama!” they squeaked out stopping and clasping Sonia’s hand with a grin. “<She’s so cool and amazing isn’t she? I love her Alakazam! Her Mr. Mime is so powerful too! Ahh! Ah I love her Hypno’s movements! They’re so classy!>” Sid didn’t even realize they’d slipped into Kantonian right then. The language was just so much easier to fan in, apparently. “<When I was younger, I received a plush Abra that was just like the one she was raising at the time! And it was so soft and cute and I think I still have it somewhere, maybe back home in Kanto and—>”
Sid stopped— only then realizing that they were speaking quickly and probably incoherently. “A-ah sorry….Sabrina is…. I am … very much a fan… of hers…” they switched to common again.
Sonia nodded, glancing up the stairs anyway. After all this time she knew that people were just scared because they didn't understand and assumed that what she was doing was a lot more than it actually was. But if Gorde was that scared, she'd let him have as much space as she could give. His mind was too scary of a place for her to want to be there.
And she still had other ways to communicate. They just didn't work the best in a fast pace environment where not everyone knew sign language, she didn't have to write things out, and wasn't allowed her phone. It was also very good practice if you looked at it in a more positive way.
Just like how Sid's reaction was quite delightful to her question. They were positively beaming, grinning... and holding her hand? And now it was getting shaken, and Sid's mind was incredibly bright with joy. And now she realized she didn't understand everything they were saying. She couldn't help but giggle along with them anyway, their passion and excitement was just too contagious to not to.
It was quite sudden when Sid stopped, the blonde shaking her head. "It's fine, though I only understood a part of it. I adore Abra too! And Sabrina herself is so respected that she's a gym leader. I actually want to have some of her confidence one day!" Sonia smiled, eyes glimmering with her excitement.
Sid smiled a little awkwardly, letting go of Sonia’s hand to rub the back of their head. Her assurance that it was fine made them feel all the cheesier somehow. It was nice to know she liked Abra, though. They were such cute cats. And Sabrina was… Sabrina was…. so cute… The thought was loud in Sid’s mind. The color was very real on their cheeks. Sabrina had been their first celebrity crush, and somehow that still hadn’t gone away entirely.
This thought faded a little as Sonia mentioned confidence. “Gambatte,” they answered. “Confidence takes time and effort, but I’m sure you can build it alongside your skills.” They fell quiet as a Chansey stepped towards them and Sonia holding up one egg in her hands and another in her pouch. “Ah, are they both yours?” they asked just wanting to make sure before eggs got mixed up somehow.
Oh, their hands were leaving her own, and only then did she realize how nice it felt to actually have her hand being held. Her mother hadn't really given her much attention due to her powers, and now she realized just how little contact she'd gotten from her dad, mostly because he was worried about getting her sick when she was younger. And even if she had gotten better as she aged, the habit remained.
Was she really touch starved? Hmm, something to consider another time. The fact that suddenly there was quite a loud thought coming through their thread of connection. Sabrina was cute? That seemed like a very personal thought, so she tried her best to ignore it. It felt like something that if brought up would be a cause of embarrassment.
So instead, Sonia nodded her head vigorously. It was true, being confident was something she'd have to actively work on and it would take time. But she was sure she could do anything if she set her mind to it! "I'll do my best! I'm sure I can do it if I try!" She mentally cheered for herself. She had to start somewhere, so maybe next time she saw Gorde she'd try being a little less scared. After all, it wasn't like he could hurt her?
Oh! Right! Her eggs! Sonia gave them a quick once over before nodding. "Unless someone else also has a Treecko egg, and an Eevee egg here, I'm pretty sure that they are mine. Thank you so much Chansey." Sonia nodded, pulling out a small thing she had seen up. It wasn't that great, sort of a pouch with a long handle so it was sort of like a purse, only with no pockets or flaps. But it was well done enough that it held the egg that Sonia slid into it. Though she checked the stitching of the strap to make sure it was holding onto it fine. At least she still had room in her arms to hold the Eevee egg and give it a fond little pet. But now with her eggs in her own care again, Sonia felt herself relax before showing them off to Sid.
"So excited to see them hatch, hoping it'll be soon. But would probably be a good idea to get our rooms sorted for the night. Before a bunch of other people get caught out in the storm." Though hopefully a lot of them had been smart enough to not leave their places to begin with. Especially when there was another flash of lightning that had Sonia clutching the brown egg a little tighter. Hopefully the night wouldn't be too rough.

A small half laugh escaped from Sid as Sonia spoke. “That would be a rather interesting situation,” they admitted. They gave the Chansey a thankful look as well, and the latter was quick to smile and give a soft cry back. Sid smiled softer still as they turned their gaze back to Sonia again. Those eggs pouched on her were very cute. At the mention of the rooms, however, they were quick to spark back into reality.
“Ah, right, definitely,” they answered starting to walk towards the front counter to let the nurse on duty know what the plan was.
“Ah sorry, Sidney, there’s only one room not full right now,” the nurse frowned looking back at them with a bit of a conflicted look. There had been a lot of trainers coming in from the rain all at once, and now they were almost at capacity, as hard as that was to believe. “There are two bunk beds in it, though.”
Sid paused and glanced back towards Sonia with a small smile. “Well… do you want to have a ‘sleep over’?” they asked with a small laugh. It wasn’t either of their houses, but it was a single room so. “I think it could be kind of fun….” They didn’t have any of their video game systems with them (minus the Switch that seemed to be on the fritz as far as battery power went for some reason. Arceus above, Glitch, if it was you, they will find out and make your undeath that much worse). Maybe they could do like… a chutube makeup video or something, yeah? That could be nice or maybe like watch a movie or anime or something. Anime sounded fantastic.
"Yes, it would be quite funny wouldn't it?" Sonia chuckled, bidding the Chansey a farewell. Sonia counted herself lucky that one of them was so willing to eggsit for her. But what 2ere the chances of someone in this Pokemon center, needing both a Treecko and an Eevee egg taken care of while Sonia was also working? Granted they weren't the most rare Pokemon to find, many people had Eevees or their Eeveelutions. So it at least wasn't that uncommon to have an Eevee egg.
But a Treecko? That was probably the one that set her apart. That and she was pretty certain that was the Chansey she had left them with, so of course they would make sure the eggs got back to the right person.
Ut now it was time to get a room. Though, it didn't seem like it would go well. Just as Sonia had feared, those traveling had taken shelter, a bunch of them here and now there was only one room. The room that both of them had intended on occupying. Well, she lived close enough, maybe she could still make it and let Sid have the room?
It didn't even occur to her until after Sid said it that they could share the room. And the fact that it was Sid saying it meant they were actually willing to do so.
"That actually does sound like fun. I don't mind if you don't." Sonia smiled, a tiny of colors coming to her cheeks. Sleepovers were an interesting thing that she had of course read about, but other than late nights with Fayne she hadn't experienced. Did she even have everything with her?
She had brought her small, overnight bag with her to work as she did with the longer shifts. Hairbrush, toothbrush, spare clothes, that make up kit she'd been meaning to try but hadn't really gathered up the courage to do so. Oh, she also had her sewing kit and some of the fabric that she was going to try and turn into a quilt to use as a saddle on Valiant. And her tablet, assuming it was still charged.
