Sid smiled a little as Sonia spoke. “Sounds good,” they answered before turning to the front desk again. “Mind checking us both into that room before someone else comes barreling in?” They flashed a grin.
“Sure, hang on,” the other nurse answered flicking through a few screens before confirming the room. “There you go… also I forgot to mention, but the new nurse-issued Pokemon were finally transferred in just a little ago. We have both of yours if you want to get them now.”
Nurse issued— oh, right. The Arcellian Nursing Society or whatever, yeah? They had filled out some information regarding nurse partners a while ago now that they thought about it but hadn’t heard back and had forgotten since then. “Huh…. Does it say what I got?” They asked.
The desk nurse shook her head but set a Pokeball on the counter in front of them and then one for Sonia thereafter. Sid took theirs and stared at the small little flower insignia on the front. “Hm…” Flicking their wrist, they released the contents! Of which was a Floette clasping a white petalled flower. For a moment, Sid just stared in quiet awe of the creature. The Floette stared back at her new trainer uncertainly. “Shirou Hime,” Sid decided. “You’re gorgeous.” The Floette immediately blushed and used the flower as shield for her face.
It was still a little surprising that Sid was actually okay with them sharing a room. Though she supposed it wasn't that big of a deal as they weren't sharing a bed. Which they weren't! She had said there were two bunk beds right? Then there was likely one on one side, and one on the other. Meaning they'd basically be as far apart as possible. Yeah, there was nothing to be embarrassed about... right?
Either way, there wasn't really a reason to back out. Sonia felt no malice coming from Sid at her brief mental touch, and she was pretty certain if something did happen (not that it would! A girl has just got to be cautious sometimes ya know?) that she would be capable of defending herself.
And what was that about a new Pokemon? Sonia tilted her head as she tried to recall. A nurse Pokemon? While she had filled out the paperwork, she hadn't expected to receive one as she was still a student. But it looks like she counted after all. Sonia nodded her head, taking the ball with a stylized curl in the shape of an 's'. Sonia would have been more curious of her own partner if Sid hadn't beaten her to releasing their own.
And gosh were they gorgeous! "You two match." Sonia smiled brightly, looking between the two. Now it was her turn, though she stared at the ball for a few seconds before she was releasing the mon inside. And now before her stood a slightly larger than average Ralts, whom she could very easily tell was a male. His head tilted upwards a little to get a better look at her, and the shorter girl squatted down to greet her new companion.
"Hello there, I'm Sonia, your new trainer. It's nice to meet you." Sonia smiled warmly, the Ralts doing the same before they were offering each other hands and shaking them. Though there was also an invisible handshake going on with their minds as they got acquainted.
And then there was a quick movement at her hip, then in her arms, the girl almost fumbling the egg in her surprise. She offered an arm to the Ralts and lifted him up before turning to Sid. "I think these eggs could hatch very soon. Might be a good idea to head to the room now?" She phrased it as a question, but only because she didn't want to hurry Sid along.

We match… Sid’s eyes flicked to Sonia as she spoke those words and then back to Floette. The latter remained hidden partially by the flower but was now slowly peeking up over it to try and understand what Sonia meant. O-oh! Her flower… It was as snow white as their hair now that she had a chance to look at it. More color touched her features on this realization, however, and a soft cry escaped from her. Sid smiled a little softer. What a dear….
As Sonia moved to release her own Pokemon, Sid’s attention shifted briefly. As a Ralts took form, their lips parted and then sealed in a smile. “My, that’s a perfect fit…” And not just because Sonia was a psychic herself. Or maybe it was at least partially that.. and partially because she was a soft person herself capable of taking care of the soft emotions of a baby. Yeah.
“Hime, I want us to become good friends,” they murmured with a smile. “Alright?” The Floette blushed again and hid behind the flower once more. A small giggle escaped from Sid— only to be cut off as Sonia snapped back up to full standing and turned to them. “Oh yeah??” they asked. “We should get them a soft warm place to hatch then…” They agreed. The nurse behind the desk handed them each a key.
“C’mon Hime-chan, we’ll hang out for a bit…” they encouraged of the Floette. She gave a small shy nod and floated over to their shoulder to sit. Sid reached up a hand and gently cupped her head briefly before starting to walk on back up the stairs to a different part of the clinic.
The inn room was about what one would expect of an inexpensive Pokemon Center inn room, a set of two bunk beds, two sets of three level drawers, and a mirror on the back door for prepping. There was a small lounge area with a half kitchen right next-door as they were all the way down the hallway, but aside from some plates, a few pots and pans with a half oven, and a vending machine, it didn’t offer a whole lot. Sid was used to that, though.
“Hmmm hmmmm ah here we go…” Sid pulled a comforter off the top bunk of the bed and proceeded to try and wrap it up in a way before setting it on the lower bunk. “What do you think? Should give the babies a comfortable nest to hatch in…” they smiled. Floette trilled softly a little confused but vaguely impressed.

Sonia hadn't seen a Pokemon that small before, and indeed her snow white flower matched Sid's hair. And their personalities definitely seemed to mesh well so far. Sonia would definitely say that the nurse association had done a good job picking Sid's partner. And she was quite happy with her partner too.
As she had learned, psychic type Pokemon were the easiest for her to connect to (unless that was just Valiant) and understand. And they could feel her without her having to focus on doing so. As it was she could still feel the softer presence of the young Ralts in her mind. And it made her smile. That, and it would help a lot with work for obvious reasons. Heal pulse and Wish were good healing moves, but in situations like Gorde there was potential for her Pokemon to speak on her behalf. And just as Hime and Sid personalities worked, so did theirs.
And now she was ruining a bonding moment by hurrying them up to their room because she literally had no idea how long it would take these eggs to hatch. But she definitely didn't want to risk then getting loose in the lobby and causing chaos.
So now that her arms were full of egg and Pokemon, she was getting handed a key. Feeling the frustration starting to build, Prince leaned over and took the key, holding it up with a soft mental "I got it!". Sonia smiled brighter, butting her head against the Ralts who giggled at the affection and continued to hold the key to his chest.
Still another egg shook, throwing the slight girl off balance, though Prince helped by leaning the opposite way she was stumbling. She nodded and then quickly followed after Sid, letting them lead the way. Sonia could technically still open the door herself, but that wasn't something she wanted to start abusing. And indeed she didn't expect much of the room, but she suddenly wished she had been home. She was better prepared there.
Though Sid making a sort of nest out of a thick comforter was... cute. Yes, cute. Sonia blushed a little, smiling all the while. "Yes, that will work well. Just going to make a few adjustments." Still holding Prince, not even thinking that she could probably put him down, she focused on the blanket. Hands glowing a faint white blue she focused on the blanket, imagining it shifting just a bit. And like that, her telekinesis was moving the blanket, folding the edges upwards to create a bit of a barrier. The glow faded and Sonia nodded, then she was setting Prince down, and tucking the first egg against the edge she had just made against the wall so it couldn't bang into it. And wouldn't fall forward off the bed either.
"There, I think that's perfect." Still on her knees she crawled to the other side and put the second egg there. It still felt like they were missing something...
"Food? What if their hungry?" She questioned, quickly going over to the kitchen and looking around when her stomach growled quite audibly. Right... "An we need food too." Sh3 giggled. But the kitchen didn't offer much. Sure there was utensils and pans, but other than the no name brand Pokemon food there wasn't much. Other than the vending machine. And while yes it had drinks, the food was all considered junky snack type food. And Sonia had grown up eating healthy, so that idea was both thrilling, but also a little disgusting. Looking back to Prince she tilted her head, a quick question fired off to him. He trilled and waved his arms.
Sonia nodded happily. "How hungry are you? Would you be up for some pancakes?: Operation Dinner Plan was standing by.

A goofy smile flashed across Sid’s features as Sonia spoke. “Good,” they murmured easing back to let Sonia into the space. Sid wasn’t sure what exactly she was doing at first but then— Then !!!! Red eyes watched the soft blue hue raise and move the blanket of its own accord. Sid had seen it plenty of times: a psychic raising a Pokeball or a spoon or any number of things with their minds, but perhaps… perhaps it had been just long enough since they had seen it for them to find soft awe in it again. That’s so cool. As Sonia spoke, Sid snapped out of their thought, shook their head briefly to clear it, and smiled. “Looks good.”
What if they were hungry? On cue Sid’s stomach rumbled. Oh. Yeah they hadn’t really eaten properly yet, had they? They followed after her to the kitchen and looked around as well. Hmmmm. Junk food wasn’t foreign to Sid. They were sure they had enough pen to drop half a rack of Frito Chips if they really wanted it, but they really wanted something substantial like rice or ramen or—
“Pancakes?” Sid brightened. “I love pancakes.” Blueberry, strawberry, Pecha Berry. Oh they hadn’t had that one in a long time. Rawst berry? Oran berry— wait. “Ah, uh…. hmmmm….” They frowned looking at what they had to work with. “Unless you could magic some batter and things out of the— can you magic some things out of the air?” Hime tilted her head and slowly her whole body to one side. She had never had pancakes before. What were those? And why was Sid so excited about them?
For once, her powers were getting complimented rather than berated. And you know what? It felt natural using them around Sid. Probably due to their respect and understanding towards them. It definitely continued to help Sonia feel so at ease with them, like she didn't have to hide anything from Sid. She definitely thought of Sid as a good friend.
And definitely Sonia had enough pen to get a couple of snacks from the vending machine. But how long would those last? They surely weren't a good dinner idea, not when there was something better that could be done. And Sid definitely seemed to like the idea even if they questioned the logistics. Sonia giggled, shaking her head.
"No I can't, I'm not that good. However, I still have an idea! Prince can use Teleport. Meaning, with a good mental image of a place I'm familiar with, such as my home or my favorite grocery store, he could teleport there. And then gather or buy the ingredients that I would need. Then I could make us pancakes!" Sonia clapped, smiling brightly. She just needed a list, and it would probably be easier if she sent Prince home and texted Fayne to gather the ingredients. So she was already writing the text as she was sure Fayne was home so that shouldn't be a problem. Sonia nodded to Prince, and he nodded in turn before he was rippling with energy and vanishing.
"What kind of berries do you like? I was thinking Pecha, and maybe strawberry. Make a quick compote out of them." She smiled almost knowingly before she was gathering the utensils she would need, peeking at the eggs as the brown o e gave a good shake and started to crack. Sonia smiled widely, hurrying over to kneel by the edge of the bed to watch it.

Prince could use— Oh! Sid immediately brightened. “That would be wonderful!” A pause. “Just be careful about not getting trapped out in the rain…” They weren’t actually too sure how well teleportation worked, but hopefully at least good enough to avoid that! Watching the Ralts teleport off somewhere, Sid glanced sideways at Hime. She too was watching with big round eyes. Reaching up gently, Sid pat the Floette again. She fidgeted under their hand from newness but slowly grew to relax under it.
Hmmm, what kind of berries did they like. This would be a lot easier if Sid could remember their names in Common. Their brows knit together in concentration as they tried to recall what each was. Pecha and strawberry were— actually, you know what no they’d grab their phone and check. Hime looked over their shoulder at the numerous pictures they were mass Chuugle searching through to get a better idea of what berry was what.
“Oh! Yeah these would be great!” Sid added in once they were sure of what a Pecha and strawberry were. “Maybe some…” they looked down at their phone again. “Oran berries too??”
They helped gather up what they thought would probably be needed before watching Sonia wander back over to the eggs. Watching her from a distance, Sid smiled softly. They loved… watching baby Pokemon come into the world and seeing their ‘parent’ for the first time. They kept their distance for now and just… watched and waited.
Yes, this was very much a good idea! Sid seemed delighted that actual food was a possibility. Not that Sonia blamed them, she didn't exactly like the idea of emptying out a vending machine of chips and still being hungry wasn't that appealing. Plus, her idea was much more delicious!
"I think he'll be fine. But he's out of my range now so I can't tell for certain. But he's already been trained, and I gave him an image to my room back home. So he should be just fine." Or so she hoped. Teleport was usually used to exit a cave, or teleport one home from across a route. Meaning him having to teleport not even halfway across the city should be doable! It was just a question of how many trips he'd have to make. Sadly Ralts had smaller arms, though could maybe hold some with telekinesis? They would have to see.
But what about the berries? She wanted to be sure she was using ones Sid actually liked, though they seemed uncertain about which ones were which? She could have offered them an image, but they already had their phone out. Oran berries too? Sonia pondered this addition. Oran were known for a more balanced flavor profile, and were quite nutritious as the berries went. "Sure! That sounds like it would be very good."
Two bowls, a whisk, a spatula, frying pan and a flipper. That was all she needed. Now, her egg needed her.
Sonia's heart was beating faster and faster with each vigorous shake of the egg. Two! Three! The cracks grew wider and wider until the egg just sort of popped with a glow? And then there, in front of her, was an Eevee, ears still tucked against their head and eyes closed. Then slowly, o e black brown eye opened and peered upwards until they saw Sonia. Then both eyes were open, ears perking up and the young mon let out a soft little "Vee?". Oh no, it was even cuter than she thought! And Sonia must of had the biggest, goofiest grin. But still she was patient, holding out a hand for the Eevee to sniff. The Eevee did so, almost going cross eyed as she focused on the hand before prancing over to Sonia before getting scooped up into the girl's arms.
"She's so soft!" Sonia cooed, burying her nose in the Eevee's neck fluff, their tail wagging. "This is a friend of mine, their name is Sid. And that is Hime, she's Floette." Sonia kept her mental voice soft, thought the baby mon didn't seem to mind the telepathy too much. But it was also all she knew.
"I think I'll name her Darling." Sonia rubbed her cheek against the Eevee's before letting them sniff at Sid's direction then chirp a soft cry of "Eevee?"
“Oh…” A soft, warm, endeared breath came and went from Sid as they watched the Eevee take shape from the egg. Adorable… Coupled with some absolutely adorable gestures from the hatchlings trainer, this could have been an episode of Too Cute.
Sid reached a hand up to their chest, feeling over the cloth and the pounding heartbeat below that. Adorable… so cute…. Precious… darling… They had so many words but no capacity to speak. Granted Sonia was a psychic and may have actually heard Sid’s thoughts for as loud as they were reverberating in their own head right then. Sonia’s little proclamation only exacerbated the feelings.
They managed to at least kind of get themselves back together as Sonia introduced them both… and then Sid glanced sideways to Hime to see her… staring in wide eyed awe. Oh. Oh goodness. “Was that the first time you saw a hatchling, Hime?” they whispered. The Floette only cooed back not quite saying anything substantial even in the Pokemon language. She was just… in awe, really. That was… that was so …. Wow.
Looking back to Sonia as she decided on a name, Sid smiled warmly. “Darling is.... is perfect,” they answered slowly closing the distance between them now to gently raise a hand to the Eevee at first to sniff and then to pet if allowed. “Hello, Darling....” Goodness, they were lucky they couldn’t actually die from cuteness.
Even with her own somewhat heavily distracted mind, Sonia could still hear the thoughts. And she knew that they while they weren't directed, they were still about her and the Eevee. Sonia didn't mind of course, though she may have blushed a little bit at them. She needed to remind herself that Sid was probably reacting to the actions moreso than the people or beings behind them.
And Hime, the Floette was speechless apparently. Had she not seen a hatching? Sid surely had before, they had said so, though that didn't make newborn Pokemon any less cute. Especially Darling, as now she seemed a little confused as to how Sid was actually speaking out loud as opposed to in her head like Sonia had. And Sonia couldn't help but giggle at this.
"Ee?" She asked anyway, one ear tilted downward in her confusion.
"I'm mute Darling. I can't speak through my mouth unlike Sid. However, I am a psychic, so I can speak with my mind instead. But Sid isn't a psychic, so they can't." Sonia looked down at the Eevee as she explained. But the Eevee still looked confused as she looked back between the two humans. Her ears tucked in embarrassment, but Sonia nuzzled against her anyway. "It's okay. You'll understand one day." Sonia reassured, smiling softly.
Darling cooed softly in understanding before their attention was stolen away by another light. The trreecko was hatching now too?! Only their hatching was even more sudden. By the time Sonia noticed and moved over there there was already a Treecko sitting there. Yellow eyes looked up at her before examining his surroundings and then huffing.
"It's alright, you're with friends here." Sonia reassured the Treecko, but he continued to look away. Well, he was a bit more standoffish already now wasn't he? Had it been because Sonia hadn't favored his egg enough? Was it because Darling was currently being held? It was hard to say for certain, but Sonia would just give him some time. Surely he'd warm up to her eventually right?
There there was a soft sound, a displacing of air, and Prince was back, holding two duffel bags. They were already resting on the ground thankfully. Though the Ralts tilted his head up, mouth slackening slightly at just what he had missed. Both eggs had hatched without him?!
"Welcome back Prince! This is Darling. And the Treecko, I think I'll name him Kusan." Sonia smiled, setting the Eevee down on the ground who happily bounded over to the Ralts in greeting and a question to play. Sonia giggled before looking into the duffel bags. She had figured that one would have been enough. And indeed there was everything she needed in the first one. So the ingredients were set on the counter, duffel bag tucked away for now. And then she dared to open the second one. Her expression fell into confusion before she waved Sid over to look in the other duffel bag. Two more eggs, both brown and cream sat there with a note. "Found these in your room, good luck."
Sonia just stared at them. "I don't remember getting two more eggs?"

The look of confusion they received had Sid smiling a little more. What was it? Their hair? Their eyes? They never knew with babies. As Sonia seamlessly sealed the gap in knowledge, though, Sid felt their smile warm. Oh! “Right, yeah…” they laughed a little at that. Hime floated a little closer cooing in soft greeting towards the new Eevee. Very briefly, she reached her flower forward and pat the Eevee once with it. There, a little magic for the new one.
As another light shined, however, both Sid and Hime’s attentions shifted. Oooh. What a cute Treecko. The way he reacted, though, earned a soft uncertain note from Hime. Sid glanced sideways at her and then reached up to gently pat her. They wouldn’t immediately notice the Ralts had returned, but Hime would notice the change in the air and turned to him. Her soft cry had them looking back a second after Sonia greeted him again.
Kusan? “Kusanagi? The legendary blade wielded by the Mikoto?” they asked suddenly. “What a wonderful name for a grass sword Pokemon!” they chimed in. Hime gave a soft cry and tilted her entire body. Sid laughed a little at that. “Back home, there are many ancient stories,” they answered her implied question before looking back to Sonia again. “Anything I can help with?” They stepped over as she waved them forward.
“Huh?”Two more eggs? Their eyes flickered over to her note and then up to the eggs again. “Maybe Ho-oh’s blessed you with some magical eggs…” they chuckled softly leaning back again. “Looks like we’ve got to remake the nest for them!” Stepping back, they made a dramatic pose to the lower bunk again. “May they hatch in warmth and comfort!” Hime blinked slowly confused at Sid’s antics before they easied up again and offered a cheesy smile. Oh! They were just… being dramatically playful. Alright then.
Even Sonia was smiling and giggling at the young Eevee's reaction. And then both sets of eyes widened a little as Hime came closer, the seemingly timid Floette taking the initiative for an interaction. It was a little tap of her flower, but it was still a very special interaction. When Darling's ears flicked up, she looked at the Floette with awe before she was wriggling with excitement, tail waggling happily.
"A Floette's blessing, you are a lucky little one Darling." Sonia let out a soft breathy giggle. This was indeed a very special moment, even with the bad weather outside Sonia was quite happy.
But Sid seemed to approve of the name Kusan. Sonia remembered hearing or reading of Kusanagi somewhere, but she couldn't recall exactly where. She had read so many books. "I remembered it from somewhere, but couldn't remember where. But it felt like it fit." Sonia admitted, but Sid was riht. It sounded like a very good fit, and maybe Kusan would think so too. But now that they had moved away and attention wasn't solely on him, Kusan had shifted to the edge of the bed to sit instead, peeking curiously at the bag.
Indeed, two more eggs sqt in the bag. Only Sonia had her doubts about Ho-oh blessing her with eggs. Though how Mana had gotten them she didn't know. But how could she say no to two more helpless eggs? She just couldn't. The blonde bit her lip, looking at the eggs before Sid was stealing her attention with a dramatic flair. Sonia giggled at that before she was carefully lifting the bag. "May they hatch in warmth and comfort!" Sonia mimicked, though she couldn't be as dramatic with her posing as she was holding not only two eggs, but also Darling.
So she took a moment, depositing the eggs onto the bunk again before tucking them into the blanket. Thankfully they were still warm, so at least they had been taken care of before getting teleported here. And it seemed to do no harm to teleport them as well. Good, though she didn't know when they would hatch. She wasn't certain if they would hatch tonight or if it would just be too much. There were already enough mouths to feed riht now, not to mention if two more were added. That would be a lot o pancakes, though they also had some Pokemon food too.
"Alright, time to start on dinner! Could you help me by preparing the berries?" Sonia asked, giving her eyes a little roll as Darling, who had to be put down to make it easier to handle the eggs, insisted on being picked back up again. But as Sonia would need her hands, the Eevee instead ended up splooting over her shoulder, somehow balanced and using her back legs to do so?
But it was time to get started on dinner, and Sonia was getting hungry to the point it was going to be hard to wait. So she dug into the other duffel bag and began pulling out the ingredients and utensils she had asked for. Okay, she hadn't expected their entire bag of flour but it wouldn't be a problem to make enough food now. The berries were the first things pulled out and immediately set them into the sink.
Surely if Sid was going to help, they knew it was best to wash the berries first right?

“Sure,” Sid smiled a little looking back towards Sonia again as she asked about preparing the berries. “Want to help, Hime?” The Floette seemed a bit uncertain but gave a small, shyer nod back.
As Sonia started digging in her bag, Sid walked to the sink and washed their hands. Turning the sprayer over to the berries thereafter, they started to wash them carefully as well. Hime watched with large circular eyes at every subtle motion of their dexterous fingers. Sid hummed a soft tune as they worked. Upon finishing the first, they shifted to put the berry on something— and immediately started scrounging around for a chopping block. Ah, there we go.
Pulling that and a reasonable knife, they started to cut up each of the berries into thinner slices. Hime squeaked a little on the first cut causing Sid to pause and glance sideways at her. “It’s alright, Hime, here…” they grinned offering up a small section of berry. She hesitated before taking it in her arms carefully and nibbling it. Oh….. that wasn’t bad at all! Twirling around, she turned to Sonia and immediately blushed on realizing that she had no idea what to say: you had delicious berries??? Did that sound strange? Would the human even understand anyways? O-oh dear.
Sid glanced back and chuckled a little softly. “These berries smell very fresh, Sonia, I can’t wait for the pancakes.”
Sid was willing to help! That was going to make this so much easier, which also meant she could pay more attention to the batter than usual. Separating the eggs took longer, but resulted in a much fluffier pancake, and she loved doing it. It was also good practice. She just hoped the berries weren't too dirty, she had grown and picked them after all. She was proud of those berries!
While Sid grabbed out a cutting board, Sonia collected the two bowls she would need and began separating the eggs. Granted, she knew that there was this trick to using a water bottle and somehow sucking the yolks out, but Sonia didn't trust that. She trusted her own hands, so that is what she would stick with. She watched out of the corner of her eye, Sid's hand was alright after the burn earlier? Or at least not bothering them? She hoped that was the case, otherwise she would have felt bad for asking for their help.
But Sid was managing just fine, and Hime was even offered a piece. The Floette twirled around, and the vibe Sonia could hear was definitely happiness. She couldn't help but smile, Hime was so precious! Sonia made a grunt of complaint as Darling stood walked over her shoulders to the other side, also eyeing up the berry. Her tail not so subtly wagging. She very much wanted a piece too! "Vee?" She asked, opening her mouth wide.
"Thank you! I actually picked them from my own farm a couple days ago. I'm quite proud of them since they are the first thing I've managed to grow. And they seem to be pretty good too." Sonia was smiling, though perhaps a bit shy. She still had to finish the eggs, but that wouldn't be too much longer. Just another passes back and forth.
Eggs were done. Then, even though she could have used an electric mixer, she grabbed the whisk and began whisking the egg whites. Maybe she got a look from Sid, but as if it was instinct, the faint glow took over her hand and the whisk. A d like magic, or in this case telekinesis, the whisk continued on it's own. She still had to keep some focus on it to keep the whisk going. Then the rest was done with practiced ease. The wet ingredients were added to the yolks, then mixed. The dry ingredients were added and mixed.
Just the frying pan left, which was set on the burner with a small amount of butter. She glanced to the new eggs and Kusan, sighing softly before she began the process of folding the egg whites into the batter. "So what do you do outside of work?" Sonia asked innocently.
