Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
To participate in the Swarm, first post in this thread looking for a Pokemon. A mod will tag you and reply with stats for one Pokemon you find, including color and possibly even evolution depending on the species. Reply again encountering and trying to capture the Pokemon. Once you succeed, do not post in the thread again.
You may only find one per character, no rerolls. This is to prevent spamming to find special Pokemon. If for any IC reason you need to encounter another, use the same stats originally rolled and pretend it's a different individual.
Pokemon in Swarms have a 20% chance of being a special coloration!
Pokemon in swarms have a +20% capture rate with any ball, and will never flee.
Swarms close at 11:59pm on the last day of each month. After that, no new encounters will be spawned. However, anyone who has an ongoing encounter that isn't yet finished has until 11:59pm on the 15th of the following month to finish trying to catch their encounter. After that, the thread will be locked and archived.
[attr="class","cinziatext"] Skiddo, they were rideable here right? She would think so, and really, it would be fun to be able to ride a pokemon instead of having to find a way to buy a bike. It would be interesting to be able to ride a pokemon. Sure, she saw her father do it all the time, but they were his partner pokemon, they wanted him to ride them. She, well, she never had a partner pokemon. Instead, she gained three eggs and left her home region and came here. No, she didn't regret that decision at all. In fact, she loved it more than anything. She wanted to be able to just do what she wanted to do, and that is exactly what she was able to do right now. She was able to breed and hatch pokemon. She would be able to hatch pokemon that could have better stats than their parents. She would even test this out on gyms later on, when she feels that she would be ready. But first, she had to find herself some new pokemon.
His breath misted the air as he walked down the path, Flann at his heels, hopping in and out of his shadow. Silas chuckled softly at her antics, keeping a sharp eye on their surroundings. He had heard that a herd of Skiddo and Gogoat had been travelling through the area on their annual migration to winter grazing pastures, and was hoping to obtain on for both farm work and future travel purposes.
If they were as friendly and herd-minded as the Wooloo he was familiar with, he might have to obtain a few more and perhaps create a small herd of his own. If Skiddo or Gogoat produced any specialty products, he could perhaps specialize in that, but that was an idea for another day. First, he had to catch one.
[attr="class","diamondtext"] Route 5B, the best place to find a Skiddo right now. It would be useful in many ways. Like being able to ride the pokemon through the routes. Or just having someone to talk to when she got bored. Plus, she was pretty sure that a Skiddo could be very useful during a competition, one would just have to wait and see what it will know. But what she was excited for was to get to the city that had the first contest. She wants to know what to expect. She wants to make sure that she has the pokemon for them. Dia looked down at Hope who was walking beside her.[break][break]"Just remember Hope, we want to befriend a Skiddo, not fight it." The popplio made a sound of agreement before they both started to walk the route. She kept an eye out waiting for something to come out at her and Hope. She wondered if the Skiddo would be geared and ready to hit, or was it going to be willing to be caught? She wanted to know really. But she had to find one first.
The familiar sound of hoofbeats made him pause, and he watched as a green and white goat-like Pokemon burst out of the bushes, circling the pair once before coming to a halt. Silas slowly raised his cell phone and opened the Pokedex app, scanning the information that appeared. "You're larger than normal," he murmured to himself, easily able to tell that the Skiddo was bigger than the standard size listed in the dex. The Skiddo reared up, calling out at its hooves hit the ground. Flann chirped back in response, and looked up at her trainer.
"A battle, huh?" Silas could feel eagerness and excitement coming from the wild Pokemon, coupled with a sense of wonder. Or perhaps that was his own wonder, for this was the second new Pokemon he had encountered and he had barely been in Arciel two days. "Flann, use Ember!"
His Torchic darted out to stand opposite the Skiddo, and shot out several small flames as the goat Pokemon charged forward with a Tackle. Silas simply stood back and watched the fight unfold, occasionally called advice to Flann but generally letting her figure out things for herself. He found himself smiling slightly from the enjoyment both Pokemon were getting out of the fight, and nodded approvingly at Flann after the little bird hit her foe by jumping and launching herself off of the Skiddo's horns before unleashing another Ember.
One final Scratch sent the Skiddo stumbling, and Silas saw an opening. Palming a Pokeball, he waited for the wild Pokemon to come to a halt before throwing it, hoping he would catch it on the first try.
[attr="class","cinziatext"] Walking the route seemed to be peaceful. There were Skiddo seen every once in a while, but she didn't go near them. She figured that one would come to her when it wanted to. So, she just kept walking. Walking and waiting. That seemed to be a game that she was all too good at. It didn't take long though, because soon enough, a relaxed looking Skiddo walked near her before it stopped and looked at her. Cinz smiled lightly and she stopped and looked at him. "Well, hello there." Pokemon would forever be the only things that were able to hear more words come from her mouth than humans.[break][break]Granted, that would more than likely change until she was able to gain a bond with them. Then she would be able to speak to them telepathically. That was something that she missed doing, connecting with a pokemon to talk to it in it's mind. There was always an unspoken bond there when one was able to do that. But for now, she pulled out one of her pokeballs and let the Skiddo look at it. "So you see, I don't have any pokemon just yet, just some eggs who I could use help protecting. I was wondering, do you want to join us? It would be fun." There, now the choice was the Skiddo's.
There were honestly so many good swarms going on right now that Gabe would have to wonder if some higher power had found his wish list. Hah, as if he believed in such a thing. Arceus eat your heart out.
Walking down Route 7, just outside of Birch City, he let his gaze flick from one patch of grass to the next. Lucky for him, a lot of the foliage was turning orange making Pokemon normally hidden much easier to see. Above him, Crowlie was searching for any signs of the Skiddo horde they were tailing. As a cry from her hit his ears, he turned rather quickly in that direction looking to see what it was that he had found.
[attr="class","diamondtext"] Well, well, what did Dia's eyes soon catch sight of? An oddly colored Skiddo. This Skiddo seemed to mimic the colors of fall, which Dia found to be interesting and yet adorable. She had to be Dia's. Walking toward the Skiddo, Hope just stood behind Dia, watching and waiting. The wild pokemon didn't seem to shy away, but also wasn't fully against fighting it seemed. But that was okay, there was going to be no fight today, just some good old fashioned befriending. "Well, I bet the others make fun of you all of the time. You know, if you join me, we can prove to them that just because you look different doesn't mean you aren't like them. In fact, you could be better than them. I can show you how." Dia, are you catching a pokemon or doing a sales pitch? Either way, she rolled a pokeball under the Skiddo and waited to see what was going to happen.
Well would you look at that. “Good job, Crowlie,” Gabe mused softly on seeing the Skiddo standing there looking up at the Murkrow. She tilted her head from one side to the other and gave a small cry to Crowlie’s chirp “Would you like to battle?” Gabe called. The Skiddo hesitated but then gave a small call in response. Sure, she wouldn’t mind when asked like that. Gabe smirked. “Good.”
The Skiddo started off, shaking out her mane and throwing out a sea of leaves in the process. The Murkrow flew up and around them avoiding quite a few here and there. Still, some cut against his wing, and he cried out briefly before recapturing himself. “Get in with a Wing Attack,” Gabe ordered back. The Skiddo hopped back a little bit even as the Murkrow flew about stirring up Flying energy and barreling up to her. She took it well and used the moment to also Seed the Murkrow with a leeching energy. He yelped startled and flew backwards.
“Hmph,” Gabe breathed. “Night Shade,” came the next order. Drawing up that forceful Ghostly move, Crowlie glowed once before seeming to release it at the Skiddo. The latter cried from the hit and took a knee briefly. The drain from the Leech seed had Crowlie wincing, and Gabe was aware their work was going to be for nothing if he didn’t act. A Pokeball was grasped and tossed at the Skiddo.
[attr="class","diamondtext"] Shake. Shake. Pop. Drat, and the ball even broke. Oh well. She figured that this was going to be hard. She wasn’t trying to battle them after all. She wanted to befriend them. So, tossing the broken ball into her bag, she fished out a new one as well. She couldn’t help but chuckle though. “For such a pretty pokemon, you are going to be a handful aren’t you?” She looked back at the Skiddo in front of her and she heard Hope behind her. That was when Dia pointed to the shiny Popplio.[break][break]“She thinks that you are cute and adorable as well. We would love to have you in our family. Besides, knowing our luck, we might even be able to beat my family in contests.” She wondered if that was going to be thing that convinced the pokemon to join them. She really just wanted to have this pretty girl in her party, it would be a good thing. That and she wanted to be sure that the Skiddo doesn’t get harmed or anything int eh wild because of her coloring.
The Pokeball snapped open, and Gabe groaned as the Skiddo stepped out again ready to battle again. Crowlie called a little disheartened and a little in pain.
“Wing Attack,” was the order, and the burn begrudgingly flew forward smashing that Flying energy into the Skiddo. She took it with strength to spare and life to leech as she continued to drain the Murkrow. As if that wasn’t bad enough, she used Synthesis right after to regain some health. “Ugh….” A small huff escaped from Gabe as he forced himself to smile. “At least she knows what she’s doing… “ Almost a little too well. If this kept up, he might need Liz.
Fishing out a Pokeball, he was about to release her when a frustrated cry escaped from Crowlie. No, he could handle this! “Well now…” Did he have a spine after all then under all that fluff. “Wing Attack onwards then and follow with Pursuit,” the Murkrow set to work on that rushing forward and slamming into the Skiddo. Just as she backed up, he moved forward again hitting once more. Gabe fished out another Pokeball and tossed it once again.

[attr="class","christelletext"] Ah, route seven, how it seemed to be grand and happy at the moment. Or perhaps that was just because of all of the pattering hooves of the Skiddo running around. With a swarm like this, there was bound to be a hurt pokemon or something that would need help. Or a pokemon who just wanted to escape. She was curious to see which it was about to be really. She looked down at Torrent who was just floating beside her. The skrelp's green aura was filled with worry, but that was bound to happen while she was here in a swarm. He may be quiet, but he was a worrisome pokemon, she adored that about him.[break][break]There were a lot of aura's out at the moment, most were Skiddo, but there were some who weren't. The only way she could tell was how the aura's wrapped around the pokemon. She walked though and looked around. She wanted to see what this swarm was going to offer her today, and the only way to do that, was to walk and run into something.
