Sid had to admit, for all their Chutube videos on makeup and for even the less vlogs they’d done on style and fashion, they’d never actually attempted anything quite like modeling. They’d always assumed that was for the super tall and thin people, but when they had been handed off a flyer looking for participants, they were forced to reevaluate that that might not actually be the case? In that case they were very much interested?
Though… what was loungewear anyways? Was it the equivalent of the blanket snuggie or perhaps just long pajamas? A few swipes on Chuugle gave widely different choices, so Sid supposed they’d just have to go in and see. All power to them, then.
Arriving at the back entrance where the flyer had instructed them to be, Sid checked the time and then fought back a yawn. They’d gotten off an awkward transition shift at the center, taken a shower, and tried to get their hair and face somewhat in order. It worked well enough to be poked and prodded backstage into whatever they needed to be though, yeah? Yeah.
Stepping in, they most almost immediately noticed a familiar face. “Ah, I haven’t seen you in a while,” they greeted.

Riley had done this sort of thing a few times before for extra cash. Never anything too big, really. He wasn't even sure if he'd ever made it to a magazine article, let alone a cover or anything. Maybe an article or two online in really obscure places? But it was decent work, and fun to do. He had to admit, though, he'd never tried out loungewear. Trainerwear, formal attire, or even swimsuits were more his speed. So today would be a change of pace.
When he arrived, his Leafeon Hunter ever at his heels, he'd been instructed to wait a moment for the designers to choose outfits for a few of the other models first. They'd be right with him, the lady assured him. Not a problem!
While waiting, though, a semi-familiar voice piped up nearby. "Hm? Oh! Glass-- er, Sid! Hey! How you been?" They still needed to get together for that collab video they'd planned on yeah??? Yeah! "Nice seeing you again."
About that time, the lady came back. "All right, the designers are ready for you two," she said. Riley was eager to see what kind of outfit he'd get first.
You go into the changing room with one, two, three... how many pieces are part of this dang outfit? You're struggling to get your arms through the sweater when you hear an urgent call to get out onto the runway.
“Been well, you?” Sid smiled a little to Riley but then allowed their attention to flick towards the attendant. “Ah good timing then…” they answered stepping over to a designer who gave them a once over before quickly walking to a rack. Being handed several layers, Sid blinked a couple of times before they were ushered into a stall.
“Huh, weird…” Sid mumbled up into the open air above the stalls as they started to struggle to pull clothes on. It felt… never ending? And the sweater was just cut a little oddly for their arms. As they stepped out of the stall and glanced in one of the three piece mirrors off to the side, Sid suddenly found themselves laughing. “Oh no….” The designer gave them a cross look. “I … oh it’s fine,” Sid assured before looking just as Riley stepped out. “Oh wow that’s really pretty,” they hummed shifting their own outfit a little on their frame.
The yell to hurry towards the stage had them looking back, but as they saw numerous other models stepping out, Sid was aware it wasn’t entirely their time. The lady instead pointed them to a couple of chairs to sit and get their makeup and hair done up at. “So what have you been up to?” they asked Riley as they headed that way.
As Riley was ushered into a stall, he looked over the outfit he'd been given. Oh? He did say when he signed up he was willing to model anything regardless of intended gender, but he hadn't expected to be given a dress right away given he'd come in presenting masculine. Though admittedly he hadn't done his own makeup today, so maybe he just looked a bit androgynous. Ah well! It was a nice dress at any rate, and only a mild surprise that he quickly shrugged off.
Off came his clothes and his binder, exchanged for a strapless bra from his backpack. Once he got the dress on and looked in the changing room mirror, he decided he did not like these colors with his hair, but otherwise did approve... except of the top being a little loose. Hm. Improvising, he tied some small knots into the tops of the straps, which took out some of the slack and shaped his boobs a little nicer even if at the cost of not showing quite as much cleavage. Hopefully the designers wouldn't say anything.
Coming out, he was ushered to a seat next to Sidney to get his hair and makeup done. "Hm? Ah, not too much-- though actually, I did win a Showcase last month! So that got me a little attention. One company was briefly considering an endorsement deal but wound up going with someone else. But I did get a few articles in different magazines, so that's a step up, eh~?" He grinned. "What about you?"
Before Sid could answer, though, a thought struck Riley. "Oh shit hey actually. You remember how we were supposed to collab on a video right? We should ask if they mind us filming each other on the runway and putting it on your channel. Since you've got a bit of a makeup fandom following it'd be a good audience for them to advertise to, don'tcha think!"
The hairdresser puts Sid's hair up in a cute style before applying a light touch of makeup. Riley, your 'do is... actually kind of bland, but who cares? You were already fabulous.
