On one cloudy day in Route 2, a young girl in a black vest and pink high-top sneakers was humming as she was seemingly ignored her surroundings. However, she was not alone as she was riding on the back of her Dark-type Pokemon as she scanned around the area while walking down through the path a few miles away from the south gate of Bass City. She then noticed her trainer and barked at her, which caused her to open her eyes as she gasped before she saw her Absol.

"Oh, sorry about that, Aki. I'm just happy to see Uncle Danny again at Cedar Town." Jae then pulled out a brown satchel from her bag and looked into its contents. "I know this is just another excuse to see Route 2's scenery for inspiration, but I'm hoping to see him again and ask some battling tips for some contest battles."

Her Absol barked again and glared at her backpack. Jae noticed this and also took out a Pokemon egg from her bag.

"Oh, don't worry about it! Auntie already told me strict instructions to take care of this egg and I'll make sure it's safe and sound! Scout's honor!"

She sighed as she returned the satchel into her backpack, but she placed the egg on her arms and lap. Jae then stared at the blue cloudy sky and said, "I just hope we can find some interesting Pokemon along the way. Maybe some of them might join us just like Matador."

Aki just growled quietly before she continued walking as Jae continued to hum by herself.
