Dressed in his Swellow costume (complete with rather large wings folded against his back), Michael had decided he just needed to check out this maze. Atop his head was his Stufful, Fluff. She was dressed as a tiny royal Pokemon of indeterminate gender. A crown atop her head and bracelets on her front legs. Heading up the stairs, he hummed to himself. He'd spent a little time in the ball before coming here, but hadn't really gotten involved since he was just too interested in this activity.
With the Swellow-shaped hood over his head, he got ready to head into the maze and get this started. Hopefully he wouldn't screw this up.

Sid had spent entirely too long trying to figure out what outfit would be best for the ball. They had considered making an entirely new one, but that was a lot of time and effort that they didn’t actually have up to that point. Besides, they had so many cosplay outfits, items, and accessories already to mix and match. There had to be something there they could work with— it just took a while to find.
When they found it, though, Sid really found it. Rather than go as a Pokemon, Sid went as a knight in shining armor with the Honedge Excalibur at their side. They dawned some traditional steel chest, shoulder, and lower leg plating and wore some chain mail mesh for the rest. Their boots were solid metal and clicked a little as they walked. Black mesh tights covered anywhere that might have showed skin, and a helmet guarded their face. It might have been hard to see for those not used to it, but Sid was very, very used to it by then.
They’d stepped into the ball for a little bit, but the armor wasn’t exactly great for dancing leading them to duck out again towards the maze instead. As they got there, though, they noticed someone was already there. “Ah, the great bird of Hermes,” they spoke with just enough dramatics in their voice that it detracted from how otherwise monotone it was. “Are you guarding the door to the maze or will you traverse the path with this knight of the round?” The Honedge at their side let out a weird noise that couldn’t really be described as happy, sad, or otherwise. It just was.

Turning when he heard someone speaking, it took a moment for Michael to realize they were talking to him. Once he'd realized, he had to go back over what was actually said. Seeing what they were wearing, it became more obvious that they were pretty in character. With a grin, he tucked an arm to his torso and bowed. "Let us traverse it together, indeed. A partial party is indeed better than going alone."
He certainly couldn't match the amount of drama and level of acting that Sid was expressing, but he could play along to a certain extent. "Let us proceed," he said while opening the door. He would let them go first if they wished, or go ahead himself if they insisted.

The look they received was cause for pause, and Sid waited to see if the man would register what they were saying. As he grinned and gave a bow, they stepped back and bowed in return. “Agreed, I will have you know I am a mage knight. If you need healing during our adventure, let me know, and I will assist.” They smiled brightly as they stood up again.
At the motion to proceed, Sid stepped through with a smile. Now what particular test or trial would face them? Sid had to wonder what the labyrinth would hold! Their eyes searched around the first room ready to take in whatever was there!
You enter a dimly lit room with three doors. In front of each door is an Eeveelution, one Vaporeon, one Flareon, and one Jolteon. A backlit plaque near the entrance reads: "Two tell lies. One tells the truth." Make a perception roll. (This is not tied to a Skill, it's just a flat die roll.)

"Ah, good, I will rely on you," Michael expressed. Walking into the room after Sid, he looked around. Seeing the Pokemon, he hummed thoughtfully and then noticed the plaque. "Two tell lies...?" He squinted at it, uncertain how to take that. It wasn't like they could talk to the Pokemon, so how exactly could they lie?
To Sid, he asked, "What do you think?" He immediately started to examine the room, looking for any sort of hint or something helpful. Eventually, he'd settle his attention on the Pokemon, bringing a hand to his chin and looking thoughtful. They were blocking the exits, so... presumably, only one door led forward. He supposed that counted as lying, sure. 'Here, this way, NOT.' But... which of the three doors led further into the maze?

In the dimly lit room, Sid waited for their eyes to transition before assessing what there was. Looking at each of the Pokemon and then up to the plaque as it was read outright by their Swellow companion, Sid hummed thoughtfully. “A puzzle…” But was it an intuition or intellect assessment? Or something else entirely?
They drew up close to each of the Eeveeloutions, bending down to look over them carefully. “Perhaps you would answer my question, friends?” they asked slowly smiling. “Which way the sun rises….” At least one would have to point east if that was the point of this, right? Or were they misunderstanding.
You can't spot anything out of the ordinary. Looks like you'll just have to take a guess. Which Eeveelution's door will you choose? Players may choose separate doors.
It's almost hidden by the dark lighting, but you notice the Jolteon has a Zorua's tail! Furthermore, you can see that the Vaporeon has cyan slitted eyes like a Zoroark! That leaves only the Flareon! Will you go through its door?
Note: Your partner may not know about the Zorua or Zoroark unless you tell them.
None of the Pokemon responded to Sid’s question, but as they were in close and personal, they saw it. The Jolteon had a tail rather than spikes! A fox tail… Zorua or Zoroark? So that was the trick. Their eyes flashed to the others looking more carefully now. The Vaporeon too… That left the Flareon. Looking it over, Sid finally stood up.
“Sir Swellow,” they spoke. “The Jolteon and Vaporeon are imposters using illusion to mask their true natures.” A pause. “Look to the Jolteon’s tail and the Vaporeon’s eyes.” Another pause. “That leaves only the Flareon’s door. It speaks the truth!” Confident in their assessment, Sid stepped forward.

Michael stood there, dumb-founded and confused until his companion figured it out. As Sid drew his attention to the inaccuracies in the illusions, the purple-haired boy examined them more closely and nodded. Thank goodness for the knight. He gave a nod and followed after Sid toward the Flareon's door.
The teen didn't say anything, not particularly wanting to admit that he hadn't seen the differences in the Eeveelutions until they'd been pointed out. If Sid knew, then that was fine, but Michael didn't want to actually say it. Once they were passing through the door, though, he'd at least say, "Good eye, Mage Knight."
As you open the door, the other two Eeveelutions revert to a Zorua and Zoroark! The foxes all cheer for you. Onto the next room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a room that is lit only by a large moon-shaped light in the center of the ceiling, tiny LED stars that cover the rest of the ceiling like a night sky, and one dimly backlit plaque with instructions: "Pick a partner and sing".
A Midday, Midnight, and Dusk form Lycanroc sit around the room, howling at the false moon. Each has a small barrel hanging from their neck. Choose a Lycanroc and make a Performance roll! Players may choose the same or different Lycanroc.
Sid flashed a smile back towards the Swellow at the compliment (though it was probably hard to see under that helmet but whatever). “Thanks!” They were doing pretty good or so they thought anyways. As they entered the next room, Sid eased some. It was.. rather pretty actually. A huge moon and shining lights overhead. Their eyes fell to the black lit plaque before flickering around to the numerous Lycanroc there. “Well… it is at night….” they mused looking over towards the Midnight Lycanroc. “Shall we sing?” they spoke more to the Lycanroc then than to the other human there.
Shuffling around, they removed their helmet, showing off their long white hair and bright red eyes for a moment. “In the deep of night, in the soft glow of light, howl away, howl away, break the night onto the day….” their soft voice slowly grew stronger as they sang. “We stand here in the night, bathed in the bright moon light, howl away, howl away…” They kept on like that, each note strengthened and relaxed. The Midnight Lycanroc threw back its head nad called at their voice too.

Walking into the new room, Michael took a moment to appreciate the beauty of it. Then he saw the plaque and muttered, "Ah, crap." He may be dressed as a bird, but he was never a confident singer. Could he dance instead? At least his agility made dancing a little more appealing. Alas, he had to sing. The other human went to sing with the Midnight Lycanroc and he decided not to ruin their performance, instead stepping toward the Midday Lycanroc with an apologetic look.
"I'm sorry," he prefaced his attempt at singing. "Crazy, I'm crazy for feeling so lonely," he began, cleared his throat, and continued, "I'm crazy... for feeling so blue.
"I knew you'd love me as long as you wanted... and then someday leave me for somebody new," he sang. He'd pause occasionally through the relatively short song to listen to his Lycanroc singing partner.
@tag 148. Midday Lycanroc. Song: Crazy by Patsy Cline
The Lycanroc is pleased with your performance, and gives you 4 Rare Candies out of its neck barrel! Please update your bag! Onto the next room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a room which at first appears eerily empty save for an ornate coffin lying in its center. You hear a faint sound from above, and realize the ceiling is littered with sleeping, hanging Golbat. There are three small puzzles attached to the coffin. Make a Dexterity roll so see if you can successfully align all the proper pieces. You only need to solve as many puzzles as there are players.
As the song faded out, Sid turned to the Midnight Lycanroc and wrapped both arms around its neck, snuggling it briefly before easing back. “I appreciate your singing, my friend,” they smiled— only then to be surprised by the candies presented to them. Taking them and pocketing them, they slowly get up and walk back towards the center. A door had opened, and it was time to go. Looking to see that their campaign partner was coming, Sid chuckled a little softly. “Seems the moon goddess, Lunala, is pleased,” they joked before heading on to the next room.
Stepping into the next room, Sid raised an eyebrow at the coffin. Walking over to it and bending down, they were about to try the puzzle on the surface only for sound to distract them. “….” Sid’s lips parted, closed, and parted again. They looked back to Michael, made a ‘quiet’ gesture, and then went back to looking down at the puzzle. Stealth was key here, clearly.
xv7oq8RYp_ - I don't remember if it matters or not, but Sid does have a Dex of 15.

Taking the candies, Michael offered a bow to the Lycanroc and moved on. He had glanced over at Sid and gave an amused grin at the hug they'd given the canine. Following after as the knight headed into the next room, he examined it. Noticing the Golbats first, he took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Do not anger the fanged things...
As Sid indicated that he should be quiet, Michael nodded in understanding and started looking over the puzzles. He honestly wasn't too sure about these, but he'd at least attempt to help solve them. Staying quiet was key, though, so he was delicate with the pieces, making sure they didn't scrape or squeak as he attempted them.
The puzzle clicks into a perfect place, and your section of the coffin opens up, revealing 4 Rare Candies. Onto the next room!
Congratulations! You have advanced to the fourth room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a room that seems to have only a pit between you and the door on the other side. The backlit plaque at the front reads: "Have faith… and careful footing."
If you step out or carefully test it, you will find the entire thing solid, just invisible, against the door side of the pit, but only for a few feet. After that, it changes into a more narrow winding path. Make 3 Dexterity rolls.
As the puzzle clicked open for them, Sid took in a bated breath. And then found rare candies were waiting for them. Red eyes blinked a couple of times in surprise before a small smile pulled at the corners of their mouth. Taking the candies and pocketing them, Sid slowly stood back up again.
Their eyes raised briefly to the ceiling above and then forward to the door. Best to keep going… though they did take a moment to glance over to the Swellow’s puzzle prizes and found a smallish smile coming to their features again thereafter. Gaki would have liked them, they were sure. But no speaking until they were free of this scary zone. And with that, they made it towards the door and into the next room.
The next room, though, earned a low stressed noise before Sid could stop themselves. That was… heights were… o-oh god. Their eyes flicked up to the sign and then back to the pit. They’d seen enough Indiana Jones movies to know there was probably some sort of flooring but uh…. Where. “Etto… eto…. I uh… uhm… I’ll follow you?” they asked looking back to the Swellow again.

A click and then berries... Michael blinked at them and offered a shrug, snagging them and tucking them away. Looking over to Sid, he smiled back at them and then moved onto the next room along with the knight. Hearing the sound they made, he looked over and raised his brows at the discomfort.
"Yeah, of course! Worry not, my faithful knight!" Hoping that would help ease Sid's worry at least a little, he tried to make his way out over the ravine, extending a leg to poke around for where he could step out. He had seen plenty of action and adventure movies too, so he was confident about a path much like Sid was. Of course, he was really just hoping he wouldn't suddenly slip...
You make it a little way into the maze, but at one point while testing your footing, you loose it and fall into the abyss! It feels like you're falling for at least a minute before finally you hit the floor outside the entrance with a soft thud. You have been ejected.
You manage to make it across the path to the other side of the room, and the door opens! Onto the next room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a room littered with pumpkins! Small, medium, and large pumpkins cover the floor, without leaving a clear walkway. Several Pumpkaboo watch from the sidelines. Make 3 Dexterity rolls to see if you can navigate through the pumpkins without tripping on the vines and squishing any. The Pumpkaboo will probably forgive you if you can't make it completely, but still be careful.
