Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
To participate in the Swarm, first post in this thread looking for a Pokemon. A mod will tag you and reply with stats for one Pokemon you find, including color and possibly even evolution depending on the species. Reply again encountering and trying to capture the Pokemon. Once you succeed, do not post in the thread again.
You may only find one per character, no rerolls. This is to prevent spamming to find special Pokemon. If for any IC reason you need to encounter another, use the same stats originally rolled and pretend it's a different individual.
Pokemon in Swarms have a 20% chance of being a special coloration!
Pokemon in swarms have a +20% capture rate with any ball, and will never flee.
Swarms close at 11:59pm on the last day of each month. After that, no new encounters will be spawned. However, anyone who has an ongoing encounter that isn't yet finished has until 11:59pm on the 15th of the following month to finish trying to catch their encounter. After that, the thread will be locked and archived.
Willow had approached upon route 6 that day. It was the one way in between both Cedar and Birch. Her hometown, and the place where she started her adventure. This was a big milestone for her, and the fact that she'd be catching a pokemon today was just as exciting. She had heard rumors of a swarm of Cleffa's going around these parts, and she was sure going to get one. They wouldn't know what hit them. So, as she walked out into the middle of the route, she yelled out to the skies, "You Cleffa's better get over here, or I'm coming for you myself."
Her accent was even more strong and intimidating when she yelled out the way she did. Most of the Cleffas that were there were most likely going to be scared off, but she still kept her eye out on the environment. Any sort of rustle or movement would be her chance. As she sent out Brynn, she smiled at her and said, "Well Brynn, we're going to catch ourselves a Cleffa today. Are you ready to wrangle one up?" The Buneary let out a little cheer. It didn't seem to enthusiastic considering how excited Harriet was, but for Brynn, that type of cheer was one that truly showed how pumped she was.
As Willow listened to the sound of her environment, she was immediately directed to her right as she heard the rustling of bushes. With her intuition, she was right. It was a Cleffa, and it was coming right for Willow. With a huge smile on her face, Willow yelled out loud her biggest "Yee Haw!" Then, she immediately looked at the embarrassed Buneary to do her thing. Even with the disappointment on her face, Brynn followed Willow's orders and went straight for the Cleffa.
The Cleffa first went in for a pound, but Buneary was too quick for the little pokemon as she bounced on top of its head. As it did, Buneary used pound on the Cleffa. It's ears were strong, Willow knew that much. So, when Buneary used the move, Willow realized that that would sting for the little pokemon. However, Buneary wasn't done, and neither was the Cleffa. The Cleffa went for pound a second time, expecting for the Buneary to jump. Except, the Buneary didn't. As Brynn used defense curl, she negated the Cleffa's damage, allowing Brynn to attack with a pound. This then knocked the pokemon back into the ground, picking up some dirt on its way. Before it could get up though, Brynn threw out a pokeball at the pokemon, hoping that she would be able to get herself a new partner on the farm.
After watching the pokeball wriggle for a few seconds, Willow cursed allowed. Then, she did something unexpected. She smiled in confidence as she looked over the Buneary, saying to her, "Well Brynn, looks like we have our work cut out for us. Though, I know you can do it. You've shown me how strong you really are, and I know that that won't stop with this pokemon! So, let's do this!" With that, Brynn cheered along with Willow as she went into action.
As Brynn went into action, Freya cheered her on. First off, the Buneary jumped upwards and slammed down upon the Cleffa with pound. Bouncing off of the little pokemon, Brynn came back with one more pound, knocking Cleffa back. It seemed as though the little pokemon couldn't possibly do anything. It was backed into a corner now, and Willow was already throwing a pokeball right towards it. Hitting it on the head, the pokeball encaptured the pokemon, leaving Brynn and Willow to hope for their first successful capture.
The Cleffa was just not having any of it. The pokemon was weak, but it was a fighter. That was one of the reasons why Willow wouldn't give up. She couldn't see a strong pokemon like that be wasted out in the wilderness. It was resilient, and it would make the perfect teammate in both battle and on the farm. That meant that Willow just wasn't going to let this go. So, she yelled out, "Let's get this hoe down down! Come on Brynn, let's go for it! That Cleffa won't know what hit her."
Brynn thought that Willow was too much, but she sure could convince people well. So, the Buneary went for a hit. One that was stronger than any it had done before. So, with its right ear, she cused pound on the Cleffa. Then, it used its actual fist for the next pound. The Cleffa was close to being exhausted, and that would not be good for Willow. The last thing she would want to do is to try and take the pokemon completely against its will like that. She wanted to give the pokemon a reason to join her. She wanted the pokemon to realize that she was fighter just like her. So, she threw another pokeball, hoping that this would be over soon. If not, she might have to give up on it.
Adian wasn't so optimistic this time about finding any rare colored pokemon in this particular swarm but he was quite interested in finding the Cleffa regardless. The baby fairy type held a special place in his heart - they were always so cute and friendly and quite photographable, which was always a plus in his book. As the man had traveled through Arciel his money would begin to dwindle and it it became time for him to start doing what he did best to get by - get pictures of cute pokemon and sell them to whatever magazine, newspaper or blog was interested in them. So with his camera prepped and his bag of snacks on his back he made his way onto route six, looking for Cleffa.
"Oh!" Adian cried as he nearly tripped over the purple Cleffa. He knew a shiny one of these cute baby pokemon in an instance. Immediately as he backed up in an attempt not to trample it his hand went to the pokeball in his pocket but realized throwing it at Cleffa without some sort of battle meant he might not catch it - and boy did he want this one! If for nothing else than to use a model, people ate baby pokemon up and a shiny one no less!
In an instance he would release Cyndaquil, the fire type crying triumphantly as it was released from his pokeball. "Quick, Cyndaquil use smokescreen!" The fire type followed the order and suddenly a thick layer of smoke would cover the immediate area. This wouldn't stop the Cleffa would would return quickly with a sweet kiss through the dense smoke, causing Cyndaquil to become confused.
So when Adian commanded his next attack to be tackle, Cyndaquil did the only logical thing - hit himself in the face with his paw. The sound of laughter came from Cleffa's side of the battle field followed quickly by the gentle singing of a pokemon trying to lure Cyndaquil to sleep.
It was about then Adian realized the pokemon he was up against wasn't an easy opponent. Realizing his confused and now drowsy pokemon might be out of the battle soon Adian once again called for a tackle, this time getting the correct non-face slapping response from his pokemon who managed to knock the poor Cleffa back, before promptly falling asleep.
Not wanting to lose this shiny pokemon he would quickly switch out his sleeping fire type for Sylveon. Before the pokemon had fully materialized he would call for a quick attack. The lightening fast attack would ram into Cleffa before it knew what hit him, followed closely by a great ball thrown rather hard right at his squishy purple body.
While Wren wouldn't admit it for the life of them, Cleffa was the reason they were out on Route 6 in the cold weather. They were one of the cutest pokemon after all, and they wanted to be able to catch one of their own. Gannet was bouncing up and down, eager to find this Cleffa and show them just how superior he was. It was rather adorable, well, at least to Wren but they weren't going to tell the Impidimp to calm down right then and there.
"Come on, dear~, let's find those Cleffa, hmm~?" Wren mused, smiling as Gannet took off to try and do just that. Good~. The sooner they found the Cleffa, the sooner they could get inside and get out of the cold.
It didn't take long for Gannet to find what he was looking for. In fact, Wren was quite impressed that he'd managed to find a Clefable on top of everything else. "Well done, Gannet~," they mused, smiling at the Impidimp. He puffed up his chest, clearly proud that he had been the first to spot the Clefable. Clearly he was the bestest Gannet ever! A soft chuckle would escape Wren before they nudged their Impidimp forward. "Alright, big guy~, show the Clefable what you got~," they encouraged, smiling a little as the Impidimp once again puffed up his chest and stepped forward, immediately using Fake Out to make the Clefable flinch.
What followed would be quite the battle going back and forth. Gannet was crafty and sneaky while the Clefable was pretty strong. In the end, it seemed like Gannet had tired the Clefable enough that Wren chanced throwing a pokeball at it. Hopefully that would be enough.
Now that she had been traveling for a bit, Sage had wanted to try and find some of the pokemon which were congregating on some of the different routes. Specifically she had heard that Cleffa and their evolutions were more numerous along Route 6, so she had took a short detour in that direction after her contest appearance in Birch.
At least now she could be grateful it wasn't snowing anymore, and was a bit warmer. But the weather today was almost as bad, as rain poured from the sky, soaking everything including Sage herself.
She had kept all but her Morpeko in their pokeballs, since Morpeko was both her highest level pokemon and most effective in the weather. But Aria had burrowed under her poncho around her neck to avoid the rain as best she could.
Hopefully they could just find a cleffa quickly and get back out of this rain.
Gabe wasn’t all that much a fan of the Clefairy line, not for any particular reason, but just a lack of aesthetic. That being said, though, he knew someone who would be mad to get one but wouldn’t say no, so here he was wandering around looking for one.
Trotting alongside him today was Ruby the Growlithe. She sniffed around the cold winter air searching for any signs of the particular Pokemon of interest— or anything, for that matter, but her nose was kinda stuffy actually, and it was hard to tell. “Find anything yet?” Gabe asked. The pup whined a little and shook her head. She’d let him know when she did!
levels: 13 - 23 plz.
