[attr="class","shea"] Shea awoke pretty late, a little after noon, but somehow still before Gabe. They felt so nice... Outside, they would later find it well below freezing, and having snowed several inches this morning. But inside, it was toasty, and the blankets were so soft and warm. After a brief peek to see that Gabe still seemed to be sleeping, Shea simply closed their eyes again and lay semi-sprawled, face-down, mouth hung open, vaguely trying to go back to sleep. They were grateful they didn't seem to be hung over, but why not enjoy this comfy feeling longer?
A few minutes later, they remembered why: Gabe had wanted to go on An Actual Date today! New Year's Day and they already had a date lined up; what a great way to start the year~
Their eyes fluttered open again. Rolling over on their side, they scooted over and wrapped around Gabe, nuzzling against him. "Heeeeyyy," they said softly. "Hey, wake up~" They'd continue to bother and wallow against him until he started to stir, at which point they asked, "What'd you wanna do today for our date?"
Gabe was dreaming about warm, pleasant, wonderful things, and as consciousness started to pull at the fabric of these dreams, he desperately tried to hold onto them. At one particular nuzzle, Gabe shifted a little, groaning and muttering something incomprehensible before lying still again. At each little prod from reality, though, he found himself losing the battle.
Finally, gold eyes flicked open— only to immediately squeeze shut right after. “Ow fuck!” Gabe’s voice came out hoarse and squeaky as he rubbed his eyes and then the rest of his face. Mercifully, he’d taken out his contacts last night, or his eyes would be stinging even worse than they were already. Consciousness had brought with it a throbbing head and ringing ears.
Rolling sideways and flopping unceremoniously on top of Shea, Gabe closed his eyes again. “We are doing something…” he decided, clearly not doing anything else.
[attr="class","shea"] As Gabe hissed those words and squinted his eyes shut again, Shea tensed a bit, a little alarmed. "Y'okay??" Did he have a headache? Was it too bright? Poor thing. Shea was fine, but wondered if maybe Gabe drank more than they did. They were at the bar for who knew how long before Shea got there after all. Daww.
Soon enough, though, Shea was rolled with Gabe, onto their back as he flopped over them. Pfft. And just 'something'? "Interesting," they teased, wrapping an arm around Gabe and rubbing his back gently and idly. They'd give him a minute to wake up a bit more as they just pet him, then pulled him a bit more properly atop them and up to kiss him gently once. Make that twice, or three times. Oh, there was a deeper kiss now. Their nails raked gently down his back, and when they finally broke the kiss Shea purred, "Could always start with a little encore of last night~" Maybe trade places this ti--
Wait. "Er, shit when is hotel checkout actually? Or were you renting the room for a while either way?"
The gentle pets were nice, and though they didn’t really relieve the headache, they did give him something else to focus on. Oh, those kisses were nice too. He almost wanted to just—
When was hotel check out? Gabe grimaced as he tilted his head to look at the clock on the nightstand. It took more than a few moments for his eyes to focus before— Oh, yikes. “Checkout was…About three hours ago…” Gabe groaned. He hadn’t been planning to stay. He had so much to do between Bass and Plum and this and that and ugh.
It was then, though, that Gabe remembered Shea’s words and looked haphazardly down at them. A small smirk pulled across his features before he leaned back over and rested their foreheads together. “Might not be super romantic but diners always have the best coffee and breakfast all day…” he smirked a little before laughing to himself. “How does that sound?’
[attr="class","shea"] Shiiiiit, three hours?? Shea squinted at the clock as if doing so would make the numbers change. "Who makes checkout that early? People gotta get some sleep, damn." They pouted a moment before huffing. "Oh well. You want me to reimburse you part of the room cost for tonight then?" Since it was partially their fault and all.
The suggestion was indeed not the most romantic, but Shea was never a big one for cheesy romantic cliches anyway, and it was still pretty cute. "A diner sounds fine though~ Maybe afterward we can just walk around town or something." Enjoying the scenery, maybe even... holding hands? God Shea couldn't even think about that like it was a big deal with a straight face, the corners of their mouth twitching up as they resisted giggling at their own thoughts.
They diiiiid still kind of want that encore, but then their stomach growled, and they decided they were more hungry than horny just now. Maybe tonight then, heh. They squeezed Gabe tighter and kissed his forehead cutely before nudging him to the side so they could sit up. "Now where the hell did our clothes get to?"
Gabe hummed a little back. He guessed he was inadvertently staying another night in Birch, heh. Had to capitalize on the situation as much as possible. He considered Shea’s offer thereafter but then shook his head. “How about making another night just as worthwhile instead…” he offered.
Mmmmm breakfast and street wandering did sound nice, though. Wonder if there are any overly hung over people on the streets right now… Heh, they probably weren’t carrying any cash by the end of the night, though. He sat up with Shea then and started looking around. Where did all their clothes get to hah. Slowly Gabe slid off the bed standing shakily a moment before wandering around to pick up and sort through what he could. He was pretty sure he got all of his own clothes thereafter but would be lying if he said he could completely think straight enough to be sure.
One.. two… three, four, five…. Six. Yep that was all his Pokeballs too, the most important things here, clearly. It would be a lot easier to count if his head wasn’t aching. He really really needed some coffee. “Ready to go?” he called over to Shea.
[attr="class","shea"] Hm? They couldn't help but grin at that. "All right!" they agreed. "...But I'm on top tonight. Gotta be able to show you what I can really do~" They gave Gabe a wink before going back to rummaging for their clothes.
Oh here, their jacket wound up under the bed somehow. They didn't remember-- er, wait, they'd loaned it to Gabe, right? So he must have accidentally tossed it that way. Or one of them just kicked it without realizing it, but whatever. And all their PokeBalls were still in their pockets, so good.
Once dressed, Gabe asked if they were ready, and they nodded brightly. "You bet! You know where a good diner is, or should we look up options before we head out? Or do you prefer to wing it and wander til we find something, hehe." They were fine with any option. If winging it didn't work out they could always give in and look something up later after all.
Diner. Good diner. There should be one on Muse Road— We’re in Birch not Bass. Ugh…. Gabe snorted softly. “If we were in Bass, I’d have a few suggestions, but…” He fished out his phone that was still somehow in his pants from the night before. It was almost dead but had just enough battery for a Chuugle search or two, right? Flipping through a few screens, he found a map of the general area.
“….Looks like there’s one up the street and at the first left…” Gabe turned around slowly using the GPS locator to find the exact direction before making a point at (or through) a wall. “Let’s try that one first.” And if it was too busy they could just walk around or whatever. Smiling at Shea, Gabe clasped their hand before tugging them on out of the room, down the hallway, to the elevator again. Getting into the elevator, though, Gabe was suddenly reminded of the night before again and snickered briefly.
[attr="class","shea"] Shea waited as Gabe looked up a restaurant, and nodded when he came up wit a result. "Hmm, where are we again?" They took a second to mentally picture a map of Birch. "Oh yeah, okay I think I know where that is. Sounds good to me!" They smiled. "Hopefully the lunch rush is starting to die down by now, but if we happen to hit it oh well." They didn't mind a bit of a wait or a change of plans depending how bad it might be.
They smiled and flushed slightly when Gabe took their hand. It was always such a simple but cute gesture when people did that, and they were sure to clasp his in turn. As he started to snicker on the elevator, they asked, "What's so funny?"
A devilish grin came and went from Gabe’s features. “I just remembered what we did in the elevator,” he snickered again even as the doors closed and they were transported downwards. They were transported down rather quickly, and as the elevator dinged open again, Gabe stepped out with Shea in tow.
The lobby was relatively dead at this point in time with the only one manning the front desk also looking a little hung over, in fact. Gabe gave said person a passing glance before continuing on out the doo— “Fuck it’s bright,” Gabe immediately slapped a hand over his eyes as even partial noon-light hit him. Had he been thinking, he would have scrounged around for his sunglasses. Now he was left the consequences of not. Squinting around, he recognized a street sign and sure enough started walking that way— eyes almost closed.
[attr="class","shea"] Ahhh. Shea stuck out their tongue at Gabe's answer. It was tempting to maybe grab his ass or something otherwise lewd in response, but Shea decided to refrain. They were pretty hungry, after all, and they already had plans for tonight, anyway.
Gabe's reaction to the sunlight earned a light snort. Was he still a bit hungover or did he just not like the sun? Either way, Shea snickered, even though they had to squint just a bit themself. "The snow makes it brighter," they commented. Speaking of, a shiver ran through them. "I'm more concerned with the cold than the brightness though. Geez!" They hooked an arm around Gabe's and huddled in close to him for warmth as they walked.
Fortunately it wasn't too far to the diner, and there didn't appear to be too much of a crowd inside. Shea tugged Gabe along as they hurried in where it was a little warmer. "Hhew! We'll have to figure out some indoor stuff to do after breakfast, or at least buy better coats, eh?" They laughed lightly. "You want a table or booth?" they asked.
It was cold. If the walk had been any longer, Gabe would most certainly have released Lizbeth and had her walk alongside them like the Poketorch she was. They got to the diner fairly quickly, though, and the warmth even then was better.
A small snort escaped form Gabe at Shea’s words. “We could try the Birch city mall after,” he suggested. It would be busy and crowded with New Years shoppers, but it would be consistently warm while inside. And there should be a lot of people roaming around with spare cash… Not that he could as subtly steal from someone with Shea around but…. eheheh… Always worth a shot.
Looking up and around, though, Gabe squinted before shrugging his shoulders. “Booth works.” As they were seated, given menus, and asked what they wanted to drink, Gabe ordered a coffee to start. After that, he thumbed over the menu options. “Hmmmm think I’m going to go for the banana nut pancakes,” he hummed a bit slowly looking up to Shea again. “Figured out what you wanted yet?”
