"Oh I will!" Simon piped up cheerfully, a smirk already forming on his face. He liked the challenge! As stressful as it could potentially be, Sai liked being kept on his toes. Never knowing what to expect was half the full of being a trainer. And the fact that he could be helping people and Pokemon soon enough was also thrilling. He just needed to train a bit more first.
"Of course it's popular. Why wouldn't somebody want a cool Pokemon like that?" Simon remarked, but his smirk faded and he looked a little disgruntled. "And I might get a fossil or two, but I feel sort of bad about reviving them? I know they won't remember what happened to them, but I just feel bad about bringing them into such an unfamiliar time? I might be over thinking it, as this will e the only time they know, but it just feels weird?" He sighed and gave a little shrug. He still would probably revive something and make sure it was well cared for. It just, felt wrong? But they might be just because he has watched too many horror movies.
"I'll probably head there eventually." Simon added, posture still relaxed as he walked forward and the birds took in the sights. "Thinking I might want to have a water Pokemon I can ride first though, so I can take my time rather than be stuck on a ferry." It always felt better to travel on foot, doing things yourself. And saved money.
"Wait, that other town. It was called Cherry right? Wasn't their plots of land for farming where being offered to new farmers? I think I remember seeing that, in Cherry and Fuji? Could totally save up one day for one I bet." He chuckled before looking to his sister. "Bet even you would feel nostalgic working on some fields again."
“Huh?” Juniper’s brows knitted together and then raised on one side as Simon described how bad he felt for fossil Pokemon. She… kind of saw what he was trying to say but??? “I think you are overthinking it, Si.” The science had been around for a while. It seemed safe enough. At least one IRB had to have approved it so, so whatever yeah? Yeah.
At the mention of getting a water rideable Pokemon, however, Juni smirked a little. She knew the pain— both of being on the ferry and being left by the ferry. “I recently evolved a Seadra into a Kingdra just for that,” Juni answered “Well… not just for that but…” But close enough.
Regarding Cherry Town, though. “Yeah, actually, there’s a lot of fertile land out there for it being an island. I actually have a bit of property over there already,” Juni smiled a bit. “I haven’t had much time to do anything with it yet…” But she wanted to get back to those roots a little bit at least. “If you want to do some manual labor, I wouldn’t mind.” She really… needed to actually get over there and do that work, heh.

"Yeah, probably." He admitted, shrugging his shoulders. "But I will say, horror movies might have a shred of truth to them, and I won't be scared to say 'I told you so' if that happens." Sai tilted his chin up as they walked. You could count on him to tell you if you were wrong. Or if he told you something and you didn't believe him then were proved wrong.
"A Kingdra huh? That's pretty cool." He admitted. "I don't know if there is a specific Pokemon I'd want to keep my eye out for. I'm not the biggest fan of water types." Simon grimaced. He knew he'd need one eventually, but they weren't something he was as passionate about. Though a water type would probably be handy for more than just a ride here and there. He would just have to wait and see. Though he was pretty certain Juni wouldn't react well to the water type in his possession. It would probably bring back bad memories, so he would want something else in case she needed to tag along.
Or maybe he could just tell her? She was a grown woman, and it wasn't like she would be training it.
"And I might not mind helping. Gotta keep fit somehow!" He flexed his arms, though they weren't the most visible with his jacket. Oh well. "As long as I get some credit! You gotta look at it and be all 'my little bro is awesome, look at what he helped me do!' ya know? You might be all Miss Independent, but that doesn't mean you can't ask your family for help." Simon snorted, bumping his elbow against her to know that he was teasing and meant no harm in what he said.
Juni couldn’t help but smirk a little at Simon’s words. “You’re preaching to the choir there,” she answered dryly. Pyre gave a small choo in response to Juni’s tone. He knew some of her general nature but was too young to know of her historic exploints as a Team Magma member. “……But they can be useful and round out a team.” If that was even what Simon was going for, anyways. Juni decided to leave it at that for now.
A small half laugh escaped from Juni as Simon agreed to help out on the farm thereafter. Yeah, she guessed rangers did have to keep fit and all, and he might as well be productive with it rather than be in a human gym or whatever. Still, Juni couldn’t help but roll her eyes a little at Simon’s proclamation. “Do you want a sign? A plaque somewhere with it written out?” she teased back thereafter bumping elbows with Simon in return.
“If I recall correctly, you and Adian wrote all over my favorite books with your Sai and Adi are hereness,” she huffed dramatically. Yet that had been years ago… many… many years ago now, as Juni realized. Man… I’m getting old… It was almost kind of hard to believe she was almost 30. I hope Mom still isn't waiting..... for her to settle down, start a family, whatever it was that moms wanted of their children. Whatever, Juni had science, and that was enough.

Sometimes, people wondered if they wre really siblings. Yeah, they looked a little alike in some ways, but when people thought of siblings, they thought of people who thought alike. But Simon and Juni, were more like the opposite sides of the same coin. Juni used her head and was a lot more serious. But Simon used his heart, not always thinking situations through and was a lot more sarcasm that serious. But there was moments like this that reminded him that they were in fact family and they got along pretty well.
"Yeah, true. I'll still probably keep a couple around, I just don't know which ones yet." Simon shrugged. He'd know which one when he met them, he just needed one that worked for him.
"Yeah! A plaque would be perfect. 'My farm is amazing, because my brother Simon helps take care of it.' There, now ya know what to write on it." tpThe redhead teased, grinning from ear to ear while he did so. Even going as far to wave her comment off about the books.
"That was like, how many years ago now? We were kids and bored. And maybe a little jealous? Hard to say, we were stupid kids, and we did stupid things." Simon shrugged. Maybe it really was jealousy, especially about Juni's time and leaving things so she'd maybe think of them more. Or that they were jealous she had so many books. Hard to say with how long it had been.
"But I admit it, I was stupid, and still am a bit stupid. But that doesn't mean I don't want any less of a relationship with my big sister." He grinned, elbowing Juni lightly. "So what have you been up to? Working on another paper? What is Derby like? Give me all the details."
….Pfffft. A snort was then followed by a chuckle. Simon was…. such a dork, and maybe Juni was appreciating it now that they were a little older. “I’ll write it in some old timey font, maybe use a wood engraver and a stencil and everything,” she smirked a little raising an eyebrow at that. How long had it been since she’d carved wood? She’d been what? Twelve? Thirteen? Maybe a little older than that? Maybe… It…. Couldn’t be that hard, though, could it? Pff….
Juni almost stopped walking, however, at Simon’s words. “Jealous?” Her brows twitched up as he head tilted the other way. Pyre looked up at her questioningly. Her tone of voice was… weird and he wasn’t entirely sure why. “Fair,” Juni answered with looking forward again. Pyre sweat dropped quietly to himself. He … felt like he’d just missed something there. But as Simon went on, it sort of filled in something??? Maybe?
Something softer drew into Juni’s features as Simon went on. “Since when’ve you gotten so sentimental?” Juni mumbled despite feeling ever so slightly happy about that. There was a pause after that as she considered the question and what details Juni… actually wanted to share. Well....
“I’ve been working on a manuscript about the Grumble Volcano, it’s off Route 8 if that gives you some idea,” she started. “Dr. Knox, my PI, has a lot of historic data about it that I have been using to get a better sense of what interactions it may play with the rest of Arciel.” Though it was straight forward enough sounding when spoken aloud, there had been so many ups and downs that Juni wasn’t even sure she wanted to get into all of them just yet.
Hm, what else. “Derby’s been building a lot of interesting things,” Juni went on after a moment. A small smirk pulled on the corners of her mouth as she remembered one in particular. “Have you ever heard of a mechanical arm with a triple jointed hand?” she asked. “One of Derby’s customers asked for it, and it’s… it’s something.” It would have been a mechanical marvel had it not also been funny as hell.

Okay, so maybe he was playing it up a bit, but Simon was actually happy to be a part of Juni's life again. Something bigger than just the occasional text with and update on how she was doing before she was too busy to send it. How long had it been since they had just hung out for more than an hour? Too long probably. Might as well change it now while he had the chance.
"Yeah! Go all out and have fun with it!" A dramatic pause, a raised eyebrow. "Yiu do still remember the proper definition right?" And maybe making jabs at his sister was one of the things he enjoyed most on the planet. Also probably the thing he would regret the most if he went too far. Who knew if she was willing to sic Pyre on him. Could he even wrestle a barely human sized Blazekin? Who knew.
"Probably since you got older and finally started rubbing off on me. Or mom, going on about how we grow up to fast. You know how parents are. Can't wait for us to get out of the house then suddenly don't want us to leave. Got me thinking about stuff bigger than me. And when my buddies just upped and left, I got scared you were trying to do the same thing. And without Addy, I realized how lonely it was. What's that stupid saying? You don't know what you have until it's gone?" Okay, so maybe he realized just what he could have lost and chased after it with wild abandon. So what? His family meant a lot.
"The volcano? Yeah I've heard of it. Been making plans to go and see it actually. Do you know if it is active? Do we have to worry about it erupting and taking the place with it? I'd really like to see about getting a lava rock before that happens." If it was active, then Simon may not take his chances with it. Though a quick in and out wouldn't be too bad. Maybe it would even help Juni if he did.
But Derby was building a what? "A triple jointed mechanical hand? So it would have all the joints of a proper hand right? The wrist, then the three joints in each of the fingers?" Simon asked, holding up his own hand to feel the joints and where they were. "That sounds pretty epic, though must suck the poor guy, or gal, lost their entire arm. That must have been an experience." Simon shuddered, pulling Misha off of his shoulder into his arms to cuddle the green bird.
