Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
Julia was on a roll! She'd already caught two new Pokémon, and she hadn't even been across a full route yet! (Unless you counted her clandestine trek to Birch Town, which Julia did not; in fact, she refused to even think about it.) She moved along Route 1 with a spring in her step, Shadow at her side disguised as a Pikachu, Honey in her arms, and Lucky flitting about and occasionally landing on her head. She was conscious of the fact that four used Poké Balls hung from her belt while only three Pokémon traveled outside with her. Blade just needed some time to cool down, Julia told herself. She'd make friends with everyone else soon enough.
Lucky suddenly let out an excited coo, launched off Julia's head, and flew forward. Julia kept walking for a few seconds, waiting for him to turn around and come back, but he just kept going. "Hey, Lucky!" Julia shouted, speeding up into a jog. Honey jostled in her arms, and Shadow's illusion got down on all fours as he sped up. "Wait up!"
But Lucky didn't wait up. The green Pidove seemed quite interested in something up ahead... or perhaps it was someone? Either way, he flew forward at full force with his Trainer hurrying after him.

While Julia may have been a little ray of sunshine, happy with her recent accomplishments, Simon very much was not. Truth be told, he was still sulking after that encounter with the trio of Tynamo. He had beaten the two smaller ones sure, but that large one had swept what remained of his team. He still tsked unhappily as his thoughts circled back to it. He was too weak, his team was too weak. So he needed to train, and that's what he had his mind set on. Simon wanted both him and his team to be stronger, so he had set out again to do just that, and to aid the process he only brought three of his team with him.
"It's easier to focus on training a smaller group." He reasoned 2ith himself, walking down a somewhat worn path as he kept his eye out for any Pokemon or trainer that was willing to battle. He wasn't in the greatest mood, and he knew that as he could feel the furrow between his eyebrows and the slight downturn of his lips.
Kushina, Misha and Seri were a little worried about him, but at least Kushina knew of his desire to do better. To be better. The Fletching sitting on his shoulder, looking very alert as she too kept her eyes out for Pokemon or people. Seri padded along beside Sai, looking up worriedly every so often. Only Misha was more or less completely relaxed, cooing softly as if singing to herself. At least until there was an excited coo that got everyone's attention. Mostly Misha's.
Simon's eye narrowed further, scrutinizing the Pidove that was flapping towards them now. Was it wild? Hadn't that swarm moved off by now? Did it plan on attacking them? His lips parted to speak, to warn his team but Misha was taking off from his shoulder and cooing almost as excitedly as the other fellow green Pidove. Misha then began to circle the other, cooing in greeting before hovering near the other while Simon just stared worriedly.

Lucky let out an excited coo as the other green Pidove circled him. He flitted around her for a few moments before his eyes fell on the other Pokémon and their trainer. Before he could dart over to them (and probably worsen this misunderstanding), though, he heard his trainer shouting:
"Lucky! Hey, what's gotten—?" Julia came to a well-timed stop in front of the two green Pidove; Shadow came to a stop next to her, and Honey flumped over her trainer's folded arms with a dazed groan, not having expected the sudden increase in speed and then the equally sudden stop. Julia adjusted her grip on the Teddiursa as her eyes traveled upward to the nearby auburn-haired man and his Pokémon. She looked at Lucky and his new green friend. Then she looked back at the man. A grin spread across her face as she put two and two together.
"Hey, you got a green Pidove, too! Cool!"
Lucky cooed in what could have been interpreted as agreement and flew up to land on his trainer's head. Julia, meanwhile, was either completely oblivious to the tension her Pidove had caused or was deliberately ignoring it.

The redhead's amber gaze remained narrowed at the other bird. Still uncertain what to think about it. Misha seemed to think that it was a friend, and it wasn't outright attacking them. Yet. But then there was a trainer, a girl running over. Well, that explained it. The set of his shoulders relaxed just enough, elbows dropping a couple inches as the weight of his arms was supported by his hands buried in his pockets. Even his jaw visibly unclenched.
People were so much easier to read. And some times easier to reason with.
"Yeah, I do. Her name is Misha. Your's is Lucky you said? Fitting, their color does remind me of a clover now that I think about it." Simon commented, eyes watching his Pidove as she came back to perch on his shoulder. Out of habit a hand was lifting to stroke her neck as side which caused her to coo.
"My name is Simon, but call me Sai. Please." He introduced himself before nodding his head to his other shoulder where the Fletchling sat with a tilted head. "Kushina is the Fletchling, Seri is the Meowth. We were going to head out to do some training. Is that what you were up to too?" Simon asked, tone curious as Seri peeked out from around his legs. The girl looked to be on the younger side, and he didn't dare look too much closer. He was already stiff enough and there was a faint warmth in his cheeks as if his skin was already threatening to blush.

A huge grin broke out across Julia's face at Sai's analysis of Lucky's name. "That's exactly why I named him that!" she exclaimed. "Well, plus I figure it's lucky I caught him. He's gotta be pretty rare, right?" On top of her head, Lucky preened under one of his wings.
(Granted, it probably wasn't hard to figure out just why Lucky was named Lucky. That didn't make Julia any less excited that someone got it; compared to the obvious Shadow and Honey, Lucky was probably the most obtusely named of the bunch.)
"Sai, Kushina, Seri, and Misha," Julia repeated in an attempt to commit the names to memory. "Nice to meet you! I'm Julia. This is Honey." She bounced the Teddiursa in her arms, who leaned forward to sniff at the other human, seeming much steadier now. "And this..." She looked at the Zorua-turned-Pikachu with a slight pause. She didn't want to give his identity away by saying his real name. "... is Sparky!"
"Sparky" gave his best impression of a Pikachu squeak, ears twitching in greeting. Behind him, his Zorua tail twitched as he struggled to keep it from moving into view.
"We're headed to Cedar Town," Julia said. "But I guess training's part of that, too. I mean, you never know when you're gonna find a wild Pokémon or another trainer." And then, her eyebrows shot up as she realized something, namely that she was looking at another trainer right now. "Hey, do you wanna battle?"

Simon nodded thoughtfully. "Yeah, you could definitely say that. Lucky is the only one I've heard about or seen since I befriended Misha. So they are definitely unique to say the least." Simon added, now even more curious as to how many more were out there. He was looking forward to showing Misha to Adian, but the joy of it would be ruined if he had already seen one. He was going to have eto bug his brother again into checking his texts or emails more often.
But now he had names to go with the faces and Pokemon. And they were all pretty obvious too. Huh, must have really been a kid to name them things that were so unoriginal. But, it was sort of cute and refreshing to see such innocence. Though, that last one was definitely drawn out a bit more. Like Julia came up with the name on the spot. That was a little suspicious, his eyes narrowed just a bit as his brain went through possibilities. One, it's a newly caught Pokemon. Two, it was stolen and she just renamed it. Three, it was a fake name that she came up with on the spot to hide something. But the only reason she'd feel the need to do that is if she thought it was at risk of being stolen.
But, a pikachu wasn't very rare? Ah, there it was. Just the briefest of glances of a very un pikachu like tail. A Zorua? That definitely was rare! And while he was a little jealous because it was a very cool Pokemon, he also understood the want to keep them safe.
"Nice to meet you Julia, Honey and 'Sparky'." He greeted, though with how he spoke Julia could hear the air quotes. "You don't need to worry about me taking anyone though. Ranger's honor." He supplied, pulling out his Ranger badge as well to show Julia before tucking it away. "Secret is safe with me."
But then she totally threw him for a loop, Simon actually stepping back with surprise. "Uh... I'd rather not right now? I don't know about you, but I don't have any revives on me. And I was hoping to strengthen my girls bit against wild Pokemon and maybe even catch some more first." He looked away, blushing just a little bit as he scratched a finger on his cheek. He also didn't want to make a girl cry by potentially creaming her Pokemon in a fight. Sierra was one thing as she was training to be a Ranger too and had insisted on it. But Julia was giving off less mature vibes than Sierra did.

Julia had no idea what Sai meant by "taking anyone," but her confusion flew right out the window when Sai said "Ranger's honor" and flashed his badge. She gasped rather dramatically and stepped forward, probably a bit too close, standing on her toes even though she was only a couple of inches shorter than Sai. "You're a Pokémon Ranger?!" she asked. "That's so cool! I'm training to be a Ranger, too!"
She bounced back down flat on her feet with a slight wobble; she wasn't quite used to the weight of her new leg yet after years of lightweight prostheses. She looked crestfallen for the tiniest fraction of a second when Sai rejected her request to battle, but then realization flashed across her face. "Oh, yeah. I guess I don't have any revives, either." She giggled at her own mistake. Lucky cooed, looking down at her from atop her head, and Honey gave her an unimpressed look from her place in her trainer's arms. Shadow smiled and shook his head a bit, all too used to Julia's lack of foresight.
"Well, that's okay!" Julia piped up. "We can look for some Pokémon together! What kind are around here?"

Okay Julia! A little close there! He couldn't help it that his blush intensified a bit as Julia got closer, she wasn't touching him or anything, yet. But that wasn't something he had been prepared for! "Yeah, I'm a Ranger. Still newer to it though." He cleared his throat as he looked away. Yeah, he didn't really get this girl quite yet, other than she definitely had a lot of energy.
"Yeah, wouldn't want to ruin the fun for one or both of our Pokemon would we?" Simon chuckled softly, nervously. But thankfully Julia didn't mind moving on instead, even asking about what Pokemon were in the area.
"I'm not too sure, but there is a lot. The beach is still close, so we can easily find some water types. Which might be something I'm looking for. Having a water Pokemon I can ride on will be invaluable. But with the plains there are so many other kinds of Pokemon you can find. Like that!" At the end his voice turned into a loud whisper, ducking down a little and giving Julia a gentle tug on her arm to encourage her to do the same. Then he pointed off in the direction they likely would have gone. A bush rustled for a few shakes before something yellow darted out to look around.
"Interest in an actual Pikachu?" Simon asked softly, nodding his head for her to go for it if she really wanted. That wasn't a fight he wanted right now. Not after those Tynamo.

Luckily for Simon, Julia didn't spend too terribly long in his personal space. One, she wasn't so dense as to not notice his discomfort. Two, she was quickly distracted by the prospect of finding wild Pokémon.
"Ooh, yeah, if you had a big Water Pokémon, you'd never have to worry about the ferry," Julia said. "I think it'd be cool to ride a—whoa." Her voice dropped in volume as Sai tugged on her arm; she followed him into a crouch and looked at where he was pointing. She gasped, eyes sparkling, as a Pikachu emerged from the bushes.
Shadow narrowed his eyes and let out a little growl at Sai's question about Julia wanting an "actual" Pikachu. Julia looked at him, then at the real Pikachu, which was currently sniffing the ground. "I mean, I've obviously already got a Pikachu," Julia said in a stage whisper, causing Shadow to puff up proudly. "But you should go say hi, Sha—I mean, Sparky."
Shadow's ears twitched up curiously at the proposition, and he nodded eagerly. This would be the perfect chance to test just how good his illusions were! He turned to brush his tail up a bit and make it harder to spot before walking forward on two legs and squeaking to get the Pikachu's attention. The wild Pikachu looked up from his sniffing of the ground and slowly stood on two legs, nose twitching. The two approached each other, and Shadow raised one paw and squeaked a hello. The Pikachu leaned forward to sniff him, seeming uncertain. He slowly turned around and raised his tail. Shadow just blinked a couple of times. The Pikachu turned his head and squeaked out a question that made Shadow's ears stand up in surprise. He looked at the wild Pikachu's tail a few times before quickly spinning around to touch his fluffy tail to the base of the Pikachu's.
Honey snickered in Julia's arms. "Shh," Julia whispered, holding a finger in front of her own lips.
The Pikachu turned back around to face Shadow and tilted his head. Shadow smiled a bit too widely and began to squeak; after a moment, he pointed back at where Julia and Sai were crouched down, which Julia took as her cue to stand.
"Hi!" she said, waving her hand. Lucky cooed and flew to the Pikachu to introduce himself, as well. Shadow squeaked out something else to the Pikachu, who was watching the trainer and her Pokémon curiously. A few moments later, Shadow beckoned to Julia, who turned to Sai with an excited grin before walking over to her Pokémon.
"Hey, there," Julia said. The Pikachu squeaked in response, still wearing a curious expression but making no move to get away from Julia. Julia crouched down in front of the Pikachu and set Honey down next to her; the Teddiursa immediately walked over to Shadow, who turned to face her to keep his tail away from her grabby paws. The two conversed; Julia noticed Honey giggle at one point.
"Do you wanna be part of my team?" Julia asked. She took a Poké Ball from her pack, which the Pikachu stepped forward to sniff.

Julia uses a regular Poké Ball + 10% Ranger friendship capture bonus!
The Pikachu's nose brushed against the Poké Ball's front button, causing it to pop open. He twitched his ears up in surprise before he was sucked into the device, which shook in Julia's hand once... twice... thrice... click! Julia grinned, stood up, and turned to Sai, holding up the Poké Ball proudly. "I got him!"
She pressed the button on her new teammate's Poké Ball, and the Pikachu emerged at her feet. He looked around curiously before his eyes fell on Julia, who said, "Welcome to the team!" After a few seconds to get his bearings, the Pikachu smiled in return, eyes closed, and squeaked in greeting.
"Hmm, what should I name him?" Julia asked. "I've already got a Sparky."
"Sparky" puffed up proudly again, only to let out an alarmed squeak as Honey tried to reach for his tail again. He turned to face her, paws on his hips. Honey growled something to him, smirking, and Shadow widened his eyes and looked at the new Pikachu. The Pikachu shrugged his shoulders with a relaxed smile. Shadow sighed and let his head and arms drop while Honey laughed at him. Then, with a shimmer of light, Shadow broke his illusion and revealed himself as a defeated-looking Zorua. Honey looked pleased with herself, even as she patted Shadow consolingly on the head. Lucky, meanwhile, seemed legitimately surprised at Shadow's transformation.
"Aww, it's okay, Shadow," Julia said, kneeling down to scratch behind his ear. "You did great."

Yeah, a big water type one could ride on. That was definitely something Simon was trying to keep his eye out for. Something suitable now, rather than something suitable later. He would still have to take some time with Chitose, his Carvanha before it evolved. Which of course didn't help the here and now, with the need to regularly get to Ivy, and with interest to head to Cherry. That was where Juni had her farm right? He was pretty sure that was the case, which meant he'd need to get to Plum Island. Which the ferry was less regular and would make a watr type ride Pokemon even more valuable.
But the here and now was much more important with that Pikachu in front of them. Which was totally Julia's forte? Or at least her Pokemon's? The disguised Zorua was able to make a friend at least which was then caught. "Good catch!" Simon praised, feeling much more at ease now. And he too chuckled a little as the dark type's illusion fell.
"Volt? Static? Watt? It's what I'd name one at least." Simon shrugged, offering out simple names that sounded like they'd fit with the names already in place.
"Having fun with the kid sister, and going at a baby's pace?" Some guy sneered from behind them. Simon stood up, and couldn't help but note that he was shorter than this guy too, but only by a couple inches.
"Not my kid sister, but we'll go at our own pace." Simon nearly growled at the guy who just laughed. Then he had the audacity to ruffle Simon's hair and speak down to him.
"Alright kiddo, whatever you say. Just get out of my way." Then the guy was pushing at Julia and Simon to get past. Even though there was plenty of space for him and his Pokemon to go around them. Just what was that thing anyway?
"What did you just call me?" Simon gritted out, daring the fetus to try that again.
"I called you kiddo. Think you can take me down Short Stuff?"
Nope! Simon was not dealing with this kind of behavior right now. The kid had ticked him off far too easily. He really needed to work on that huh? "Yeah, I think I can. Let's show him Kushina." The Fletchling trilled happily, hopping off of Simon's shoulder to take flight.
"Don't say I didn't warn you. Sigilyph, Hypnosis!" And the many eyes on the psychic type lit up, releasing wave after wave of transparent energy towards the bird. Kushina sadly couldn't stay awake, eyes fluttering closed, her wings stopped and she just fell to the ground. Limp with sleep.
"Kushina! Come on my girl! Wake up!" Simon called, wincing as the energy of a Confusion warped the air around Kushina and then struck. Black eyes shot open at that as she cried out in her anger. "That's it! Quick attack!"
Using her superior speed, body now glowing with white energy, Kushina dashed forward, striking the Sigilyph with beak and claws. This time, when the air warped again Kushina spotted it, and dodged it, able to get off another two hits while dodging another confusion. The third however clipped her wing and she began to fall. Her wings snapped out anyway, grimacing through the pain and crying out her outrage before slamming as forcefully into the odd shaped Pokemon as she could, causing it to collapse.
And though she now needed a good rest, she wobbled her way to her trainer before falling and getting caught in his arms. "You are still the best girl Kushina." Simon reassured before he was glaring at the guy, then nodding to Julia. Might as well get moving.

Julia beamed at Sai's praise. "Thanks!" Then, her eyes widened and seemed to outright sparkle. "Watt! That's such a cool name!" Honestly, she'd just planned on naming him Sparky since Shadow's ruse was up, but Watt was way cooler. She'd have to remember Volt and Static for later, too.
Then, some rude guy came along and decided it'd be a great idea to push Sai and Julia out of the way. "Hey, rude!" Julia snapped. Shadow and Honey both glared and growled at the stranger; even Lucky let out an angry squawk, spreading his wings.
And then Sai and the stranger were battling. Julia watched as the Sigilyph hypnotized Sai's Kushina. "Come on, Kushina!" Julia joined in Sai's call to his sleeping Pokémon. Luckily, she was able to pull off the win in the end, which Julia cheered to. "Yeah, great job!"
Julia fell into step beside Sai as Lucky perched on her head and Shadow and Honey walked at her sides. She turned her head and stuck her tongue out at the trainer that had just been defeated before continuing onward.
Suddenly, Lucky launched off Julia's head to investigate something in a nearby stream. "Lucky?" Julia asked as she followed him. He hovered above the water, where a Surskit skated on the surface. The Surskit let out a few short chitters, and then a sweet smell filled the air. Lucky let out an alarmed coo before flying back toward where he'd been before.
"Uh, Lucky?" Julia asked. She looked back down at the large Surskit, who was now scanning the water below—maybe for food? Julia looked at her other two Pokémon, and they all shrugged.
"Well, that was weird," Julia said as she started walking alongside Sai again. Lucky plopped down on her head, wings tucked in tight.

The battle won, Julia and everyone was alright. Time to move on. Simon was really hoping to get some training in as well. Maybe even catch some new Pokemon to join his team. But other than the random jerk the path seemed quite empty. At least until they passed a small pond in the area. Simon raised an eyebrow, watching as Lucky flew off after something, Misha quick to coo and fly off after her friend to make sure he was okay. But it w as just a bug, a water type one that was looking for food.
"Everything good?" Sai asked as Misha returned, half frowning but shrugging in agreement about the Pokemon. "Pokemon can be everywhere, that's for sure." Sai chuckled and continued on.
Then there was stomping. Thudding, the earth was shaking. Simon gave Julia a look before he was running off ahead. It took a bit, but then he saw what the commotion was. Two Exeggcutors going at it, stomping at each other around what appeared to be a campsite. A girl off to the side that was looking quite terrified as the two Pokemon attacked each other, the girl flinching as the backlash of a few attacks nearly hit her.
"What's wrong?!" Simon shouted as he ran closer to the girl, pulling her out of the way of a blast of sand from a missed confusion attack.
"My Exeggcutors, they got into an argument, then they just started fighting! I think they are trying to figure out which one is stronger, which one is more important." The girl whined.
Simon's glare turned to the Pokemon, they were getting pretty scuffed up, the tent in shambles at their feet. They were strong and had already done a number to each other. It was just a matter of finishing up.
"Misha! Gust on the bigger one! Kushina, Seri, Quick Attack and Fake Out on the other!" Simon commanded, voice booming for someone who was smaller. It commanded respect and portrayed confidence. Confidence he didn't really feel at the moment. But it was enough for his Pokemon, Misha whipping up a harsh wind that buffeted the first Exeggcutor, Kushina and Seri teaming up against the other with their respective attacks. Another Gust had the first one sitting down and panting for breath. Not fainted, but weakened enough. And another bout of attacks from the Fletchling and Meowth had the same results.
"That is enough!" Voice boomed as Simon stepped forward to glare down the Pokemon. "Look at what you have done! Your fighting almost hurt your trainer! You're trainer who thinks you are both equally important!" Simon continued to glare them down even thouh they were still bigger than him. "Now say you're sorry and make up already, and be more careful of where you're fighting next time." Simon huffed before crossing his arms and heading back towards Julia and the other girl.
"You okay?" He asked, much more softly and kinder now.
She nodded, "Please take these, as my way of saying thank you?" She asked, holding out some jars of honey that she had in her possession.

Lucky cooed quietly, all but grumbling about the horrible smell that the Surskit had emitted—at least, it was horrible to him. His trainer didn't seem bothered in the least, and Shadow, Honey, and Watt hadn't been close enough to smell it (not that it would have mattered since for some reason, the smell was only foul to bird Pokémon; to everyone and everything else, it was sweet like honey). Unless Misha had also smelled it, Lucky was alone in his griping. On the bright side, he'd forget about it soon enough.
"Pokemon can be everywhere, that's for sure," Sai said.
"It's so cool getting to see all these new Pokémon," Julia said. "I wanna explore all kinds of places and see what kinds of Pokémon and people live there."
The feeling of the earth shaking beneath her made Julia freeze in place. She looked wide-eyed at Sai, who gave her a look before running off toward the source. Her vision narrowed in on his retreating form. What? No, they couldn't go closer! That was dangerous! They had to leave before—
A familiar yipping snapped her out of her thoughts, and she gasped and looked down to the source. Shadow was pawing at her, yipping to get her attention. Slowly, her vision expanded again, and she saw Honey and Watt looking at her with a mix of confusion and worry. From his perch on her head, Lucky cooed in question. Julia shook her head back and forth, causing that cooing to wobble in a way that Julia couldn't help but snicker at.
"I'm okay," she said, kneeling down to pet Shadow. And she was okay. She was outside, there was no danger of anything falling on her, and Sai was investigating.
"Oh, shoot!" Julia exclaimed before running forward. The shock of the acceleration caused Lucky to beat his wings so he was left hovering over Julia's other Pokémon. Shadow and Honey both cried out in alarm and ran after her; Lucky and Watt gave each other confused glances before following.
Julia found Sai scolding a pair of Exeggutor for fighting and nearly hurting their trainer—they must have been the cause of the shaking. Said trainer thanked Sai and handed him some honey, the sight of which made the Teddiursa with the same name drool and begin silently plotting how to take some for herself. The way that Sai switched from such a stern voice for two bigger Pokémon to a much softer one for the little girl was, frankly, amazing to Julia.
"That was awesome!" Julia said, more than happy to let this enthusiasm press down the fear she'd felt moments ago. "I mean, I only saw part of it, but the way you stood up to those Exeggutor so they didn't hurt their trainer was so cool!"
Shadow pressed himself against Julia's right leg. He knew the girl well enough to know that although this praise was genuine, she was still shaken by the little quakes the Exeggutor had caused. Meanwhile, Lucky, ever the king of getting distracted, had plucked up a couple of Yellow Apricorns off the ground on his way back to his trainer. He dropped them right into Julia's hand.
"Oh!" Julia exclaimed, startled; Shadow nuzzled her leg at the feel of her slight jump. Julia smiled and pet Lucky's head with her free hand. "Thanks, buddy." Lucky cooed proudly as Julia dropped the two Apricorns into her bag. "You, too, Shadow." She scratched behind one of Shadow's ears, smiling in a way that Shadow understood to mean "Don't make a big deal out of this." The Zorua's tail whipped a bit, but he nodded slightly. But if he could talk, he'd have words for Julia later.

Simon had to admit, he understood where Julia was coming from. That was definitely the part he enjoyed as a Ranger. Not only was he meeting new people and Pokemon, he had the power to help them and keep them safe. He was definitely happy about the Pokemon so far. Kushina, Sera and Misha, he was delighted to call them all his partners and friends. And though they weren't with him right now, he also had Chitose, Mikoto and Himi. Pokemon he probably would not have met if he hadn't left Hoenn. A faint smiled turned his lips upwards.
And if Simon had known that Julia wasn't totally okay, he would have stayed to make sure of such. But as he didn't know, he ran off and didn't look back, assuming that she was following on his heels. And once he saw that the situation was dealt with, and only then did he see that she had just shown and felt the bitter taste of guilt in his mouth. Even if she was praising him, did he deserve it for not looking out for her? What had stalled her in the first place? It couldn't be his fault for not knowing, could it? He swallowed the guilt and smiled crookedly. "Thanks. I'vehad some practice breaking up fights." He shrugged, thoughts adding 'as well as starting them' to what he said. Though Julia didn't need to know that he had a thuggish side. Not yet at least. It's not like he would use it to push her around, he wanted to be better than that.
Sure he still didn't have the greatest hold on his temper and still got quite hot under the collar when someone pushed his buttons. But Sai was trying to be a better person, and that was what mattered. And right now, that meant addressing the guilt.
"You, uh, feeling okay? I thought you were right behind me, and I didn't notice that you weren't until you got here. And, uh, shoot, did I scare ya or something? I didn't mean to, so I'm sorry if I did." Simon spoke, not meeting Julia's gaze as he asked, and when he did he looked remorseful. His gaze only broke from her's to see what was moving a ways behind her,
A purple snake? He didn't recall just which Pokemon it was, just that it seemed to be sneaking up on another. Her snorted in amusement as it tried to wrap around it's target only for an inflatable hand to shoot forward and startle it.
