Today had been fated to be a simple day, it was a looser day in her heavily planned schedule which gave her more room to do whatever the stars she wanted! She didn;t have any meetings with the stars until Thursday, and her next breeding bacth was schedules for the Friday, so that left today and tommorow for gathering more clients and buying whatever she had less stock of! She'd taken to town with a huge grin on her face, and an even bigger dress. She was wearing a hoop skirt instead of her usual fluffy petticoats, all because the stars had told her to!
...Although... she could tell now, an hour into her adventure in her home city that it wasn't the best idea. With her cushioned trolley with her three darling eggs in it, her outlandish appearance and her huge dress it seemed that wherever she went she was either giggled at or stared at, and maybe that's what she wented when star hunted, but when trying to shop at the cake store for edible glitter it was slightly more offputting- but if that's how it was fated to be, then Eri just had to put up with it!
"That'll be... $34.50" A bored cashier stared at Eri as her order was processed, and with a gleeful giggle Eri was quick to hand over the cash, she'd bought all the edible glitter she could get, and a kilo of stardust for her cupboard, she was... kinda running low! Eri was quick to hand over the money, and even quicker to refuse the change from the cashier, who just grunted at her. "Have a stellar day!" Was called, as Eri loaded her bag of items to the front of her cart before continuing onwards.
Cosma was perched amidst the eggs, nestled inbetween blankets and taking a nap. She always came with Eri on these journeys, but Eri could go on her little Birch adventures for hours on end, especially if she supposed the stars wanted her to get a target amount of clients or cater to the stars for a specific amount of time.
Eri'd begun down the sidewalk now, a bounce to her step as she softly spoke to herself. "....okay...i've gotten glitter, stardust, I grabbed an extra temperature meter...binoculars from the glowy adventure store...." She'd shifted to the side of the street, a pause in her voice and to allow the stars to pass... was that all? Her phone, which was held in some homemade phone case absolutely caked in glitter and shapes resembling stars, was quickly scrolled through as she glanced at her notes... ah! Yeah, she'd gotten everything! Which just left...
Her phone was pocketed and she moved to gently wake up her sleepy bird partner, who chirped at her almost accusingly. "Cosma! It's star time!" The bird only blinked at her, and Eri shook her head. With childlike wonder the girl turned her gaze to the sky, the sun was abooout.... directly up, which meant it was noon, the perfect time to hunt stars who'd gotten off their shift for lunch, or just passerbys! "And just as fated, it was at the perfect time too~ we have no time to waste!"
And, like the girl on a mission like Eri was, she'd begun once more down the concrete footpath, every so often stopping a stranger who didn't look too busy to ask, "Eri Novae, caterer and future breeder to the stars! You look like you have potential, wanna talk?" but of course, that only scared people off or earned her weird looks...
It was fine! Eri would find the brightest star and perhaps get a future client! She has all day, after all!
Hair cut. Nails done. Massage got. Gabe had spent the early part of the day getting pampered, and who better to do that with than Lizbeth? (Even if she didn’t necessarily have hair for that first one, heh.) Things had been better between them, lately, and in some ways, they were even better than before before too. They could talk more (even if that was mostly helped by Telepathy on Gabe’s part), and they were just in synch better on all fronts. It was good. Really good.
Stepping out of the salon, Gabe ran his fingers through his shorter hair and hummed a bit to himself. He could always grow it out again. He could always get hair extensions in the meantime. But for the moment…. He liked it short. It felt like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. “How you feelin’ Liz?” he asked looking over his shoulder. The Charmeleon gave a low note in response and shrugged. Gabe snorted and smirked a little softer. “Good…. How about we head up the street and see a movie or something?” Liz thought about it before shrugging. She still wasn’t all that into human movies, but su—
Both were cut off as a voice cut in. Eri Novae, caterer and future breeder to the stars. You look like you have potential, wanna talk? Gabe stared. Liz stared. “……Sure,” Gabe smirked. Liz raised a claw to conver her face. She should have just pushed for the movies. "Call me Gabe."
It was about the third star she'd asked when she finally got a response that wasn't telling her to go away or just being flat-out ignored, and Eri was beyond siked! A huge beam threatened to split her face in half as she brought her hands together to clap, trying to hone in her excitement slightly. Perfect! Their Charmeleon seemed less eager to speak to her, or... something- she couldn't tell! As they spoke, a 'call me gabe' rolling off their tongue, Eri hummed...
They didn't look like a Gabe. Her gaze narrowed slightly and she moved to gently push her trolley to the sidewalk, ensuring all her eggs were safely out of reach of other stars before it struck her- star names! She'd totally forgotten! "Helios." The word left her before she could stop it, and Eri tilted to glance back at Gabe, "The stars say to call you Helios, only befitting of somebody who gives off such bright energy- not at bright as some of the other stars i've met but there's so much stellar potential!"
A laugh then, and she realized she should probabl get to her whole spiel before she lost a potential client, people always lost interest when she blabbed on. "Just so you know this isn't a buisness thing, so like you don't have to give me money or anything! I'm just on the scout for potential clients and you caught my eye- i'm a star guide, you see?" Eri brought a hand up to her eye and tapped besides it for a moment, enthusising the word see. "Anddd... you probably have no idea what that means, but that's okay!"
She moved her hand to brush out her skirt a little, c'mon Eri! Get your hook in! "Cutting to the chase, i'd like to help you. The fates led me right here, to us meeting, and it's my job to help stars like you." That's not the chase, but carry on. Cosma, from her trolley chittered a little and flew up onto her shoulder, Eri shifting to very gently brush a hand over her feathers. "I've been gifted with being able to see the fates of other stars... like, y'know fortune telling? My mummas are fortune tellars! And through that, I help the stars achieve their fates! It's free of charge until the breeding service-" She paused, gesturing to the eggs before continuing, "-Is neccesary."
She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding, stars she was full of cosmic energy today! "Whiiich gets to my point! Sorry, I really can carry on! Would you be interested in having your future told, Gabe?" Just to keep them there she used their given name, star names and given names were interchangable after all!
As the seconds ticked on, Gabe looked from the woman to the… trolly? She was pushing. That was a lot of eggs. He guessed she was a breeder— for the stars— Helios. “What?” Gabe blinked and shook his head briefly. The stars say to call you Helios. Gabe’s brow quirked a little as Eri went on. Bright energy, hah. Gabe glanced sideways at Lizbeth who rolled her eyes and elbowed him. Gabe immediately snickered. “A lot of potential, huh?”
Scout for potential what now? A star guide? Did he see? Not really, but with how weirdly coincidental this woman’s thoughts were with her words, Gabe was pretty sure this woman truly believed herself. “Can’t say I do,” he answered after a moment. He could read her thoughts, but her mouth was already going a mile a minute anyways.
What came after, however was… weird… and uncomfortable. Fates? Fates. Sure. And then it went on and… No. She was craz— NO— Color drained from Gabe’s face, and if he could have, he would have dropped dead on the spot. No. Even if he didn’t really believe in fate, he couldn’t, wouldn’t… commit her to just some crazy person. No. She was just… some weirdo. Yeah.
His eyes slowly flickered over to the eggs again as she mentioned them. “Huh….” Heh, if he didn’t know any better in the moment, he would have assumed this was an elaborate business transaction. But no her thoughts were so weirdly consistent through and through and… “Sure, sounds interesting enough… tell me what my future holds.” Not like it could get any better or worse than the hell he’d already been through.
Lizbeth eyed Eri believing absolutely none of this shit. Why was Gabe even entertaining this anyways? A low rumbling grew in her throat. Gabe reached sideways and slowly traced a hand down her arm to her claw forcibly holding it. Liz sighed and glanced away. Whatever. It wasn't her problem if this blew up into stupidity somehow.
Eri was bouncing on the spot out of pure excitement alone! Ahh, they wanted their future told! She hoped the stars were up for channeling properly today, she couldn't have a repeat of yesterday! Her knees still hurt a litttle, but! Today was a new day, and there was a willing star right before her eyes willing to humour her, and that was all she could ask for! She was about to pipe up when the huge pokemon besides Gabe made... a noise? A warning! Of course, the star guide wanted to protect their star! Eri understood- but she would never hurt the stars! She even bred eggs, like the eggs in her trolley, for them!
She attempted a smile at the Charmeleon before moving once more to gently run a finger down Cosma's back, the bird chittering softly at her before both pokemon and trainer turned their attention to Helios. They wouldn't muck this up! "Okay! So, for future readings i'm gonna need your full focus, okay?" She paused then, and gestured to his hand, she was gonna need that. And then once everything was sorted, she could ask the celestial that reigned supreme in the sky today to pass her the neccesary information. "I need some kind of connection to the celestials above, so i'm going to need your hand and for you to remain as calm as possible, that okay? I'm talking deep breaths and closed eyes!"
Gabe had to force his face into something neutral as he watched the woman bounce up and down before him. She was… so excitable, so very excitable. A migraine was already forming in the back of his mind, but he persisted for now. He could always find somewhere to hole up later and wait for it to stop.
“Full focus, got it,” Gabe repeated. As she mentioned a hand, Gabe twisted his around and extended it palm up. On his pinkie finger was Gum the Ditto in the form of a gold ring, but Gabe didn’t think twice about how it might affect this. As much as Eri believed it was possible to see the future, Gabe still had his doubts about the whole thing. Ah well, eyes closed, deep breaths…. Ok….
<This is dumb, Gabe….> Lizbeth’s thoughts were much clearer now, ringing in his head loud and focused. He wouldn’t answer them, though. Not till he could laugh off whatever came next.
Eri was patient as a hand was offered, sometimes stars needed some coaxing but she was glad he seemed keen for everything! What a stellar, bright star! Before taking the hand though, she had to of course channel her energy and... stuff! She moved to gently pick up Cosma and settle her into some of the blankets in her trolley before moving her gaze up to the sky, squinting a moment, right... Auriga and Perseus were prominent in the sky, or supposed to be tonight, which meant they'd more likely than not be willing to lend her their celestial power for this!
"I call to Perseus, who rules over the sky tonight with a presence as bold as the stars that make up his body." Hands outstretched as a tranquil calm washed over her, and she found herself just going with the moment, "I ask for guidence, ss the suns in its peak and a star who's brightness is as fiery and passionate as the sun stands before me- I ask for help to determine the direction of which his fates fall- a Star by the name of Gabe."
Eri moved forward then, glancing at Gabe for a second ebfore bringing her hands down to clutch his own, two of them gently resting over the hand as she focused as much as she could on the process. "I ask for the teathered thread to be unravelled, sparkling and graceful, so show me things that only I can see, guide me through the universe, and reveal what the stars have in store for this stellar human!"
(below 50, a fail and i'll edit, above 50 a success and what eri will see should be given, the next reply by the next character should be what she sees- something about their future or snippits of different parts of their future)
Oh. this was hilarious. Gabe felt a laugh rumble up in his chest but managed to suppress it at the last second. Lizbeth set her face in her claw and took a few slow breaths. Whatever. It didn’t matter. It was just something dumb.
And then it happened. Visions flashed before Eri’s mind’s eye… and went bounding across the telepathic link right into Gabe’s. Flashes of bright yellows and oranges contrasted with a heavy darkness. It focused only briefly on a large building burning skyward. And then it was blurry again, and Gabe from his own perspective was walking somewhere getting closer and closer and—
Gabe yanked his hand away, yellow eyes wide, alarmed. Color had drained from his features. What the fuck was that. Lizbeth fidgeted and growled lowly looking from Gabe to Eri and back again confused. What had happened? She hadn’t seen anything weird? Gabe??? Gabe what the hell why were you backing into her like that. She looked back at Eri accusingly, and a low rumble reverberated in her throat again. "What the fuck was that..."
Ah yes! She could see it now! A soft breath left her as she allowed her mind to fog over, a familiar sensation of sizzling creeping up her arms. Her voice was soft as she spoke then, honing in on every little clue she was given. “...I see flashes of colour, reminiscent of a sky during a lightning storm, fiery, sizzling yet warm...” The initial feeling she was getting faded as a building was revealed to her, burning, large and burning brightly, despite only being there a few seconds Eri’s brain quickly picked up on it.
“A building, y’all and alight with the flames of ones burning wants, the creator unknown.” Perhaps she’d find out more in the next things she sees! There was an approachment of something, and Eri could only wait in excitement for the next vision- only for it suddenly to cut to black.
“...a sudden blackness after going... towards... perhaps an early death, not that I could-“ it wasn’t changing, and Eri couldn’t feel her skin fizzing. Almost as if coming out of a trance the girl peeled open her eyes, slightly dizzy from the suddenness of being taken out of a vision before it was complete.
A hand moves to run at her eyes and she squinted, adjusting to the world around her and on the star before her, Helios! Shining brightly and... oh, he had let go of her hand, and his Pokémon was growling, he looked.., well... Eri couldn’t explain it, maybe angry? Did he want to punch her? She’d barely been able to cover up the stars wound to her knee from last week, but if that was what he wanted?!?
He words had her blinking... what was that? “...huh?” Oh! Oh she forgot to thank the stars- or- uh- she should apologise. A hand was held up to Helios to stop him from saying anything before her head was ducked and hands clutched at her chest. “...Sorry, celestials, for the fates were not properly perceived. Your visions are always a blessing and I promise it’ll be made up to you!”
And then she was back! Eyes open. She scanned Gabe then, head tilting. She didn’t dare take a step forward, she was a breeder and could very well understand Pokémon temperaments and his wasn’t happy at all! “I was narrating the whole thing?” Did he not understand? Was her wording confusing?
But... he almost looked traumatised, like he’d seen... somethi- Eri gasped and her eyes lit up, oh! Oh stars! She’d been given a new blessing, others could see the fates she saw now too! “Oh! Do not fret, Helios!! This has never happened before, the stars must have somehow answered my prayers! That was your future- thought I would have seen more had the connection not been severed!”
Hands clapped then, though Cosma was on edge, the bird fluffing out her feathers and flying back on Eris shoulders, she wouldn’t hesitate to teleport if the situation saw to it needing to happen. “It seemed warm, cozy, and full of brightness. Something to look forward to! The burning building could either represent future trauma or...”
Purple eyes analysed Helios, and then a giddy look passed across her features. “Or you’re an arsonist and that is something you’ll be proud of! Based on your reaction it might be the latter since stars cry more when trauma is introduced!” Oh! Oh she was going off, the stars above still could be messing with her but based on the stars reaction.... Eri was determined to help. “I have connections, if that’s the case!”
Gabe twitched. His skin was crawling. He wanted to run, to fight, to do something other than just stand there. Those visions had been… so vivid, so real. She hadn’t just thought them up on the spot. He knew what random thoughts looked like. That had been… that had….
She can see the future… Gabe didn’t want to believe it, but what else was that just now? His eyes darted around searching for any sort of psychic interference and finding none. It was just her. Just this woman who could see the future. She’s dangerous… Dangerous, dangerous, dangerous. What could he do? What should he do— what was even… His heart thundered in his chest.
<Gabe…. Gabe what’s wrong? Talk to me. What’s wrong???> Lizbeth’s thoughts were pressing against his mind, and in a ditch effort to refocus on something else, he looked at her.
‘She’s dangerous…’ His thoughts directed themselves at Lizbeth now, and the Charmeleon froze. Slowly her gaze flicked sideways to stare at the woman again. Gabe sounded….afraid. He was…. actually afraid of this woman. How. Hadn’t she just been spouting nonsense just a moment ago???
Or I’m an arsonist… That was one way to put it, but at the same time….He hadn’t really burned anything like that before. Not in reality. Not yet. How could she be so calm? About this? Gabe gulped and slowly managed to get back to standing fully on his own again. Liz frowned and kept one claw on his shoulder regardless. “Who are you?”
The star wasn’t speaking. He was looking at his Pokémon and then back to her, and maybe Eri wasn’t that good at pinpointing emotion but there was something about Helios’ reaction that was off. She waited ever so slightly impatiently, bouncing on the spot and for a moment she found herself playing with her bouncy hoop skirt, the stars above were amazing for being able to make something so fun!
Her eyes moved back to Gabe and his star guide to find his star guide had a tight grip on his shoulder... hm. The next words leaving his mouth had her blinking, who was she? “Eri Novae, breeder and caterer to the stars!” Had she not introduced herself? She always started out with that! She moved a glance to her cart to check over her eggs before turning her attention back to the long haired person before her. Maybe she had to expand! “My mummas are Stella and Ophelia, they’re famous fortune tellers to the stars!” She loved them a lot... ah!
But stars freaking out weren’t good for their light, she couldn’t practically see his diminishing! Maybe she had to give more! “I promise I’m on your side! It’s my celestially given task to aid the stars towards their futures so they shine as bright as possible after they die!”
Eri Novae, breeder of the stars. She’d said that. He’d heard that. But it didn’t help. He’d never heard of Stella or Ophelia nor did he think anything of classic fortune tellers. But this was someone with powers, how many? Could she reading his mind without him knowing it? No… No he was sure he would be aware of that if that was the case. He always felt Harriet’s thoughts when she pushed into his mind. But she’s human… Did it matter? He didn’t know.
Gabe was chewing the inside of his mouth before he realized it— and would only realize it when he actually bit hard enough to cause pain. He winced even as she started talking again (or perhaps because she had started talking again). She promised she was on his side…. Celestial duty or something like that…. as bright as possible after they— after they….
No. No no no. He needed control of this situation, and that started with self-control. A slow breath drew into him, and against the screaming alarm bells, he straightened and forced something of a smile. “I see….” Come on, just force it. Just go with it. “I’ve never met a true blue visionary before…. You have quite a rare talent….” That’s it, just calm down. “Quite… interesting, though I have to say I’m not an arsonist.” A laugh, yeah, just like that. He was fine. This was fine. “That fire… scared me quite a bit… not gonna lie….” Oh but he was lying, right through his teeth.
Eri could only watch as this grown man put himself back together, had the new features of her powers really harmed the star this much?? She’d have to bring it up in prayer later! Cosma was getting a little nervous on her shoulder from all the silence, was Helios contemplating a hit??? Eri stood her ground though, hands moving to play with her cute earrings when she waited.
And then he spoke! Eri couldn’t help the grin that spread over her face as he spoke then, a giggle escaping her. “Thank you, Helios! But it’s not a talent, it’s a gift from the stars above!” He spoke more though and her expression died down slightly... aw. Not an arsonist- “Do you wanna be one?” She was quick to bounce back, smile bubbling back onto her face before she was quick to cover up her last statement.
She knew arson fires from trauma fires, she’d told futures all the time! But if that’s what Helios claimed she wouldn’t believe there’s a reason for him to lie to her! “Sorry! You just didn’t seem adverse to the idea! Sometimes you can get a slap from implying somebodies a criminal, not that stars aren’t allowed to do that! That must be why you shine so bright, Helios!”
Hands left her earrings and settled to rest on her cart, “But... if it scared you perhaps it will be trauma related. I didn’t get to analyse the rest...” her head tilted, her gaze seemingly staring right through Gabe for a moment. “I know trauma counsellors too! You’re not the first to see that sort of thing, though it’s the first without the death of somestar close to them, I could teach coping mechanisms or get you in touch with somebody who does, if you’d like! It’s my job after all!”
A gift from the stars above. Right. No, he was sure of it now. It had to be something psychic based. Precognition? Postcogition? Retrocogition? (What was the difference??) Something like that. It had to be.
Did Gabe want to be one? A small puff of air escaped from him. Maybe so… Maybe Gabe would be delighted to set a building on fire like he set his familial grounds on fire all those years ago, like he’d contemplated setting Ara’s stage on fire, like he’d burned up his own fields now and again…. Heh… But Eri Novae was a stranger, and even if her thoughts were clear as water…. He wasn’t about to take her at face value.
But also. “Ah, I’d never raise my hand to a gentle person,” he lied with a grin. “So you don’t have to worry about that….” The mention of trauma councilors, however, had his features pulling back a bit. Hahahahhahaha??? He could probably use one but for different reasons, but admitting that then was not something he was remotely interested in. “I… hope not… I haven’t lost anyone yet,” he answered. Sure…
Lizbeth was… equal parts uncomfortable and confused. Gabe’s thoughts were being projected to here all over the place, and she didn’t understand. Did he want to silence this woman? Did he want to better know her power and what it entailed? Did he want to run? All of the above and then some more that she couldn’t even begin to understand. It was unfortunate, and she hated it. Her eyes fell to the Natu, and she squinted.
Eri blinked. Twice, for good measure! He didn't answer her question, sooo... mayeb it made him uncomfortable! That was fine, she'd never wanna make the stars feel bad! She better not dwell on it for now, but she'd do more analysing of what she saw tonight to see if there's any other possibilities, that was for sure! His next works had her head tilting ever so slightly, he'd... never raise his hand to a gantle person? "I'm not a gentle person, i'm skin and bones and stardust just like everybody else! Though, if you mean gentle like a star guide... then..." That wasn't something she heard everyday! Was kinda refreshing to hear, actually.
He followed with saying he hadn't lost anybody yet and Eri took a breath, ah. "Well, you'll probably lose quite a few people in your lifetime, hoping for them not to die doesn't sound very realistic." That was... probably a bit to blunt, but Eri still had her bright grin on her face non-the-less. "But! If you haven;t experienced loss..." she moved then, shifting to her trolley and eaning over it, bringing a bag closer to herself until she was able to bring out a bunch of tiny buisness cards held together by purple rubber bands. The bands were slipped off and she flipped through the deck, finding a hand-man, 'burning man' card and passing it off to him.
"My email is on there! If you email me I can send you a few pamhplets on how to deal when people become one with the sky! It's also for general buisness enquiries, I typically respond within the hour!" As she spoke, Cosma's attention was on the Charmeleon, who she'd noticed looking at her. A soft squawk left her and she tilted her head one way, then another. Should she tell Eri to move on by squawking and turning her attention to another stranger? This really didn't feel right.
How did he get a handle on this? How did he control the flow of this conversation? Could he just leave? Was there a range to her ability? Was all that mumbo jumbo right then just for show or part of a ritual? Gabe just didn’t know, and that in itself was enough to put him on edge.
And yet Eri here went on being a ditz of a person. Skin and bones and stardust, apparently. How was this not a façade? How was she being completely honest right now? Unless she’s blocking my Telepathy somehow… or faking her thoughts even? Somehow? But something in him was decidedly sure that was the wrong conclusion. She was an air head with a special power. That was it. Arceus why. As if he fully committed to the idea of Arceus in the first place.
He watched her move away for a moment only to come back with a card deck. As a card was held out to him, he took it. Email, hah. Fuck could he just walk away from this? And hope that she never showed up again? Was this just some warning from…. Hah… Hah…. No he….just…. Yellow eyes flicked up to purple ones. Gabe forced a smile. “Thanks…. May turn out to be useful then…” And that was him turning and clasping Lizbeth’s hand to start pulling her away. At an easy walking rate…. Just like that. They were fine. They had to be fine. Liz walked alongside him... and then looked back over her shoulder and squinted silently.
Thankfully he took the card without any problems, and he even smiled at her! Had Eri done it? Had she won over her first client for the day??? She was going to do everything in her power to ensure that fire happened, because that was the only thing she saw! Which meant researching and... she'd probably have to get in contact with Helios again! Before she could ask for further contact information, stars knew how important it was, he was already on his way away??
Uhm?! "Uh- excuse me?" Eri's voice carried out, and her head tilted slightly. Cosma let out a soft chitter, attempting to stop Eri from getting them again. The Charmeleon was on edge and she didn't want to have to teleport Eri and figure out what to do with her trolley because she'd somehow cause a star attack, but Eri, oblivious to the world took a few steps forward.
"Are you in the phonebooks? I'm going to do some further research on what I saw that'll really help, location, the type of fire, maybe even figure out the logic of it all- and even if you don't email...." She trailed off, another step forward, "You'll email right?? I need an affirmitive, Star!"
Damn it. Gabe bit the inside of his mouth. So close, so close. He was so close to getting away from this woman, this woman whose powers were probably more real than she realized. Gabe turned on his heels, forced a smile, and listened to the question. Was he in the phonebooks? Who the hell uses the phonebooks still? Had he ever touched one? Ever even opened one? Did he even know of anyone who kept one? Research…. She was going to do research, on this, on him. Fucking fuck fucking fuck ruck fuck….
Worst case scenario, what happened? He did start a fire somewhere or something like that, and the authorities got involved. Would she come forward? Would she even remember his name? Helios certainly wouldn’t be something they could trace back, but Gabe was closer. They weren’t in Bass, but they were close enough. Then what? What could she say that they would believe? Nothing… She couldn’t prove her power, not in the way she used it, anyways. Even if they traced it back to him, he could be careful. There was no way that this could change anything…..
Why was he still panicking then? Why was there a thunder in his chest? What was he missing?
He wasn’t. He wasn’t afraid of her. Why should he be? A slow breath drew into Gabe as he reassured himself of this fact a couple more times before proceeding. A smaller smile came to his features right after. “Sure, when I get the chance,” he answered. Lizbeth eyed him quietly before looking at Eri and her Pokemon again. She didn’t like this woman. She didn’t like what she was doing to Gabe.
...Wow this guy took a while to answer stuff, but Eri wasn't one to judge so she kept smiling, despite the guys awkwardness. She was debating getting her phone out to check her emails, maybe? Probably, possibly- but it'd be rude! Especially infront of the star, he was trying his best to respond and she'd be daft if she didn't listen! So Eri stood tall, or, as tall as she could and smiled in his direction, and then he spoke! Woo!
Her eyes practically glimmered at his words, and she had to fight back a squeal. Luck was on her side, thank the stars and the celestials above! "Thank you so much!" Eri managed, naive as they come and oblivious to just how much Gabe hated her very presence. A thousand watt smile threatened to break her face so she dialed it back ever so slightly and giggled. "I hope you have a stellar day, you deserve it! I promise you won't regret working with me!"
A hand was waved and Eri turned on her heel, back to her cart, she gave her eggs a once over before nodding- perfect! Now- on to the next star! With her new powers of being able to show them her predictions she'd be able to do so much more! Eri was beyond excited! Cosma stared behind Eri as she went, peaking through the certains of her purple hair at Gabe and Liz.
There was something unsafe about them. She could practically sense the Charmeleon's dislike of her trainer, she could see the impatience, she just hoped Eri wouldn't do something stupid if Helios never got back to her.
Gabe’s skin crawled. He didn’t have psychic empathy, but he didn’t need it. Eri’s excited thoughts and words were more than enough. I almost wish you were faking this. At least then, he could hate her more properly than this. “Sure! Of course, thank you!” he answered. Lizbeth side-eyed him, but Gabe wouldn’t, couldn’t, look at her right then.
“Bye bye!” he waved and then grabbed Liz’s hand a little more forcefully than before. Carting her off, he turned and took some slow, deep breaths as he walked. Just have to make sure I never see her again…. Oh how foolish that wish was.
