Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
To participate in the Swarm, first post in this thread looking for a Pokemon. A mod will tag you and reply with stats for one Pokemon you find, including color and possibly even evolution depending on the species. Reply again encountering and trying to capture the Pokemon. Once you succeed, do not post in the thread again.
You may only find one per character, no rerolls. This is to prevent spamming to find special Pokemon. If for any IC reason you need to encounter another, use the same stats originally rolled and pretend it's a different individual.
Pokemon in Swarms have a 20% chance of being a special coloration!
Pokemon in swarms have a +20% capture rate with any ball, and will never flee.
Swarms close at 11:59pm on the last day of each month. After that, no new encounters will be spawned. However, anyone who has an ongoing encounter that isn't yet finished has until 11:59pm on the 15th of the following month to finish trying to catch their encounter. After that, the thread will be locked and archived.
[attr="class","cinziatext"] She knew that pokemon in her team that weren't eggs. So here she was on route one, looking for the Pidgey swarm that was supposed to be happening. Besides, having a hatched pokemon that she could talk to would be a nice thing. She wanted the company after all, she missed it. And humans just didn't give her that company that she desperately wanted. Not anymore. Not after how she grew up. Time to push those thoughts away, and she did so as she walked the route. She knew that a Pidgey was a flying type, and well, that was going to be useful. But depending on what came from her eggs, she might even be able to breed it later on when the hatched pokemon were old enough. These were things that she was plotting as she walked around tehr oute, waiting to see what she was going to run into.
[attr="class","diamondtext"] Was a flying pokemon the way to go for a Coordinator? Dia wanted to think so really. In her eyes, any pokemon could be useful, it all just depended on the theme of the contest. Dia made sure that she was prepared as she set off on the route. She was going to catch everyone that she could, and that meant that she was going to catch even the ones that might not benefit her in contests. That didn't mean that they couldn't be helpful in other ways. Besides, Dia needed to do more than just contests right?[break][break]Ha, that was a funny thought that wasn't ever going to happen. Dia looked at Chloe, she wanted the alolan vulpix to get some air too. Hope couldn't have all of the free time out of the pokeball after all. It wouldn't be fair to the rest of her family after all. "Okay Chloe, let's go and befriend a pidgey for our team." She smiled and looked at the diamond looking ice fox before they started walking the route.

Crunch went the fallen leaves as Aster took a step into the area. She wanted to see about catching a new teammate today, just for fun. It had been a while since she'd caught her last new Pokemon, and she missed the thrill of watching the ball with bated breath until the light finally went out and that crisp, distinctive click echoed in the silence. Plus, her Mareep, Clover, had insisted she needed to go for a walk, and Aster rarely said no to the pushy sheep. She could be very particular, and stubborn, much like her trainer. Aster's bag also contained three Pokemon eggs that she'd gotten ahold of, two of which were Clover's eggs. The extra weight was nothing to a strong farm girl, but she was still conscious of it and was extra careful with her bag as a result.
"Alright, Clover, you happy now? We're outside, in the chill, and everything's crunchy." The sheep Pokemon's thick wool seemed to be shielding her from the chill, and she bleated happily at Aster, letting her know that all was indeed well. "Alright, good! So, while we're out here, y' wanna help me catch someone new to bring home? We're sorta far from home at the moment so this is a good time to do it."
The electric sheep agreed with a thunderous bleat, then dashed forward to scatter some leaves, causing both trainer and Pokemon to laugh.

A Pidgey hopped into view, scattering leaves and pecking at the ground. Aster moved a little closer to the bird Pokemon, followed closely by Clover. The bird didn't seem to notice until.. it was too late to flee! Clover closed in and gave an uproarious bleat, a war cry, then lunged at the wild Pidgey with a Thunder Wave to keep it from escaping easily.
Angry, the Pidgey tried a Quick Attack, striking Clover in the face, but it was Paralyzed after that, giving her a chance to use Charge before using a Thunder Shock, raising the power of the Electric-type move. That was all it really took, since the Pidgey was so weak to electricity and Clover was powered up with her Charge. Aster was proud of her Mareep as she threw a Poke Ball at the Pidgey, being careful as she reached into her bag, since it was still full of eggs.
"You've gotten so good at battlin', I don't even need t' direct ya, huh?" Clover gave a pleased bleat, and the pair of them watched the Poke Ball, waiting to see if the capture would take.
[attr="class","cinziatext"] Pidgey's were flying everywhere. It was amazing to her really. She loved swarms, each pokemon seemed to act differently while in them. Cin looked at them all and she just, smiled. There was nothing else that she really wanted to do at the moment. Just watching them be free and be them selves was nice to her. But her attention was caught when a Pidgey almost flew into her. It seemed to get mad at her though and she held her hands up slowly to show it that she meant no harm to it. "Woah calm now. I don't have any pokemon that will hurt you. I'm just a breeder with some eggs."[break][break]She didn't know if the Pidgey was truly calm yet, but she felt that it was still angry. So she grabbed one of her pokeballs and she threw it at the pokemon. She wasn't sure how many chances she was about to have with this, and well, this Pidgey seemed to already be in an angered mood. He seemed to be rash, which could be bad, but she would be able to work with it.
Gabe hummed softly to himself as he walked slowly down the path of Route 1. His eyes flashed one way and then the other searching out signs of the Pidgey flock that had taken over the area. Bird Pokemon were useful for transporting things on the fly (heh), and while he had Frosty, it was always nice to have another or two as backup. He was feeling pretty comfortable with finances to feed everyone, so why not.
Resting right over Gabe’s shoulder, Liz hummed a bit along with him. She wasn’t too interested in whatever had caught his attention this week, but she was always ready to battle when called to. That and… she was worried he was going to freeze out here without here, honestly. Sure, he had a jacket and long jeans on, but winter was fast approaching, and she was just as concerned for him as he was for her. There had been several winters enough of stress between them for both to not want to get stuck out in the cold for too long. For now, though, everything was fine. They were just… searching for a presumably migrating flock.
[attr="class","cinziatext"] Okay, the pokeball didn't work, but at least it didn't break. That was a blessing really. The Pidgey was still standing there, looking like he was angry, but at least not looking like he was going to attack her anymore. That was a nice thing to know. But still, she wasn't about to just leave the little guy without a family. No, it ran into her for a reason, it wanted a home, it just didn't know it yet. That was going to be the grand thing, convincing the Pidgey that it not only needed a home but wanted a home. That was something that could be done, right? She was hoping so as she took a step closer to the bird pokemon and held the pokeball back out to it. "I bet you are tired of just always roaming with no place to call home. I can give you that home if you want to let me." She smiled sweetly as she primed the ball once again to use on the Pidgey.

[attr="class","diamondtext"] The walk was nice, Hope was beside her just seeming to chatter up a storm to the Pidgey's that went by her, while she just watched for one that caught her interest. That didn't seem to take long at all, for there was an oddly colored one not far in front of them. Dia smiled as she walked over to the pokemon and got a closer look of her. "Well, aren't you a beautiful little bird. How would you like to have a home with other pokemon just as beautiful as you?" She lowered herself to a kneeling position in front of the Pidgey and looked at her.[break][break]There was something about this bird that just called out to Diamond, and it wasn't just the oddly colored part of her. Perhaps it was the nature that hadn't yet shown itself? The pidgey just stared at Diamond though and soon enough, started to act as if it was mimicking the coordinator. There it was, this pidgey was sassy as hell and Dia wanted it. "Well, I am going to take that as a yes." She grabbed one of her pokeballs and rolled it in front of the Pidgey, watching to see if the pokemon get's caught in it.
The sound of beating wings had Liz tensing, and Gabe tensed in turn. Gold eyes flashed up and around searching for the source of the sound. A Gust picked up, however, and shook the trees and foliage around them. Liz whined curling her tail closer to Gabe to avoid the wind. Gabe grit his teeth and kept his eyes open. Where was it…. Coming from.
What his gaze would find was something that was very much a Pidgeotto but also black and absolutely terrifying. It broke passed the trees in a show of power and posed only for a moment before uttering a fierce cry. “Holy crap—“ escaped from Gabe’s mouth before he could stop himself. The bird was barreling right at them then. “Liz!” Gabe’s voice broke. The Charmander didn’t wait to spring off his shoulder in response.
“Dragon Rush to get in close, then Thunder Punch!” Liz didn’t need instruction (thought they were helpful). She’d used that combination plenty of times in the past. Rushing forward with a burst of Draconic power, she appeared right up under the Pidgeotto and then slammed a closed claw of Electricity right into it. The Pidgeotto shrieked startled by the force of such an attack and struggled to flap his wings to keep in the air. As Liz fell back wards the ground, Gabe was already scrambling to catch her. Just as his arms did so, though, one dropped down, fished out a Pokeball, and tossed it upwards at the Pidgeotto in turn.

[attr="class","diamondtext"] Well, that failed. But the good news was that the pokeball didn’t break at least. Dia looked at the Pidgey and she chuckled lightly. “Well, aren’t you just a stubborn little sassy thing. I love you already.” Even the oddly colored alolan vulpix was behind her making some happy sounds, almost as if the vulpix was trying to laugh. That gave Diamond an idea. “Chloe come up here.” The diamond colored vulpix trotted up and looked at the Pidgey. She didn’t get close to the pidgey and made it clear that she wasn’t going to harm the bird pokemon either. So far so good.[break][break]“See little one, you would be in good company here. Chloe is just like you, an odd color for her species. I think she is beautiful and amazing, just like I think you are as well. I think you will fit in perfectly with us right now.” She smiled as she tried priming the ball once more and holding it out to the pidgey.
