The thought kept pounding Rui's head, not unlike the migraine she had experienced the night before, as she pedaled her bike as hard as she could across Route 8. Her mind was tangled, and she felt as if her body were moving on its own while she trailed behind it, but she knew one thing for sure: An Ultra Wormhole had opened at the Golden Tree, and Rui had to help somehow. And right now, that meant getting to the Moonrise Ruins as quickly as she could so she could enhance her psychic powers.

As you cycle on at a manic rate, you see something up ahead right in the middle of the road! It's... a Porygon? That doesn't belong on the route, why is it there? It seems to just be staring out at the forest silently. As you approach, it looks towards you with soft, confused eyes. If you try and go around it, a Barrier appears making it a little hard to get around! If you wish to interact with it more, please mod call. Otherwise you can push on passed it.
A distant part of Rui's mind noted that huh, it was weird that a Porygon was out here. It wasn't something she'd associate with... well, any wild climate, really. But that all seemed miles away from Rui's current goal, even if she was getting closer to the Porygon itself. She vaguely registered that it was looking at her, which made sense given how fast she was going (and how frantic she probably looked), but—
SMACK!
Rui let out a startled yelp as her front tire ran into something, causing the bike to tilt forward and knock Rui into a... something? She hadn't even seen anything as she was riding, but now she found herself on the ground. A moment later, as if she had finally been knocked back into her body, she registered the pain in her head and rubbed her scalp with a groan. Not again... she thought.
She heard clicking above her and turned to see the Porygon looking at her worriedly. She looked toward whatever she had hit and saw what looked like a glass wall in front of her. Some kind of barrier? Had the Porygon made it? When she looked back at said Porygon, it was staring out into the forest again.
"Is..." Rui winced as she pulled herself up. She probably needed Anahita to look at her. "Is something wrong?" she managed to ask the Porygon. If it had created this barrier, it had to have done so for a reason, right?

The Porygon clicks a couple more times looking from you to the woods and back again. It seems to grow even more distressed by the second and then sort of gets up and floats a few feet towards the woods and looks back at you again before clicking and staring. Will you follow it?
Rui watched the distressed Porygon float toward the woods and then click at her again. "You... want me to follow you?" she asked. The Porygon pinged in response, which Rui assumed was a yes. As if in a trance, Rui took one step forward, only for pain to shoot from her foot to her head, causing her to wince and hiss. "R-Right, one moment." She released Anahita from her Luxury Ball, and the Blissey looked between Rui and her fallen bike with plain concern.
"I'm all right," Rui said. "I just need a little pain relief, please."
Anahita scrunched her face up in a frown. After what Rui had already been through the previous night, she was already acting so recklessly? This... wasn't like her, Anahita realized. It was then that she noticed the nearby Porygon looking between them and the woods. The Blissey's eyes widened a bit in understanding. She nodded, and without any further prompting, she used a Soft-Boiled on Rui, numbing the human's pain and causing her to sigh in relief.
"Thank you, Anahita," she said. She reached for Anahita's Luxury Ball, but Anahita reached out, grabbed her trainer's hand, and shook her head. If Rui was going to be doing something like this, Anahita wanted to be around to make sure she didn't get seriously hurt. Luckily, Rui didn't fight this. Instead, she smiled warmly and said, "I understand."
With that, she grabbed her bike to walk alongside it and walked over to the Porygon. "Lead on, then," she said.

The Porygon leads you deeper and deeper into the woods. The terrain becomes harder to traverse, and you may even consider leaving your bicycle by a tree for as awkward as it becomes to walk. Still, once the creature finally stops, you understand: there's an injured child laying on her side crumpled up and out cold. The Porygon lets out a strained cry and looks back at you pleadingly.
As the terrain grew rougher, Rui realized she'd have to leave her bike behind if she wanted to make any further progress, so she leaned it against a sturdy-looking tree. She was... reasonably sure she'd be able to find it again, anyway. As long as she turned straight back around once they got to their destination...
And that destination turned out to be where a child lie unconscious on the ground.
Rui gasped, and Anahita let out a worried cry as the two ran over to her. Rui knelt at the child's side to see if she was breathing while Anahita took a closer look at any injuries she might have sustained.
"What happened?" Rui asked, though the only one who could answer was the Porygon. Oh, how Rui wished she could communicate with it!

The Porygon lets out a deeper cry and looks around as if half expecting to see something that now wasn't there. The child has numerous scrapes and bruises indicative of some kind of fall or something similar. A small noise escapes from him as he starts to come to. "Ngh....o-ow...." The Porygon is quick to close the gap sticking its nose hard against the kid. "Ow..." is the response.
Something about the Porygon's deeper cry stirred something in Rui's very soul. Her eyes widened a bit as she looked at the Virtual Pokémon, then tried to follow its wild gaze. Was whoever—or whatever—had injured this child still around?
Said child let out a small, pained noise as he began to come to, drawing Rui's attention back to him. "Anahita," Rui said, looking at her Pokémon. The Blissey nodded before summoning orange healing energy around her egg, then raising her arms to guide that energy to the injured child. Hopefully, that would at least numb his pain while Anahita made sure he didn't have any more serious injuries. Rui, knowing her talents lay elsewhere, began scanning the area, both with her eyes and her Spirit Sensing.

OOC: Should I be removing energy for out-of-combat move use like this?
Rui would sense something altogether off here, but it's hard to pinpoint what it is. There's traces of something that isn't quite right, but it's so minute that perhaps whatever had been there was long gone now... or was just that small. Either way, it was rather disconcerting. The child, meanwhile, slowly seemed to recover a little more. Pokemon healing didn't quite have the exact same effect on humans as it did on other Pokemon, but it did do something. As the child came to completely, however, he immediately yelped and flailed a little, looking around wildly with big almost haunted looking eyes. "Ohgodwhatwhere--" Porygon was quick to come to his aid setting its "beak" up against his shoulder. "Porygon..." the child sighed weakly. "Is it still here???" The Porygon let out a strange, stressed noise.
Something was definitely off, and Rui set her jaw to keep her frustration with herself in check. If she were stronger, she reasoned, she'd have a better idea of what all this was—but no, she couldn't dwell on that. She had to focus on what she could do if she wanted to make any progress here.
She gasped, still feeling on edge, as the child yelped and flailed his way to consciousness. Yet she took a deep breath and made herself relax. The boy was all right, and whatever had been here was either long gone or small enough to be manageable. Rui knelt back down, and Anahita came to her side.
"Is what still here?" she asked. "What happened?"

A frightened look flashes in the child's eyes, and he quickly turns to wrap both his arms around the Porygon for some comfort. The artificial Pokemon let out a strange note that one could maybe guess was supposed to be comforting. "It was... huge and scary. I've never... never ever ever seen something like that before..." the boy squeaked out taking a moment to compose himself again before sitting back and looking at Rui. "It... knocked me down... and fainted my other Pokemon..."
Anahita stepped forward and reached out to stroke the boy's hair comfortingly, assuming he and the Porygon would let her. Rui frowned a bit. Right, of course this boy would be afraid after all that. He needed comfort, not an interrogation. She smiled at him and said, "It's all right. It's gone now. You're safe now."
She stood and offered a hand for the boy to take. "Do you think you can stand? We're pretty close to town, so if you'd like, we can help you get to a Pokémon Center so you and your Pokémon can rest. My name is Rui, by the way, and this is Anahita." Anahita nodded and trilled a greeting.

The boy relaxed a little more at the offer of comfort. Taking Rui's hand, he pulled himself to standing right after. "Y-yeah, I... please...." he mumbled nodding his head. The Porygon looked up at him and made a low, strange robotic sound. "Just... just be careful it... I don't... know where it is..." he looked up to Rui again pleadingly. After that, he'd follow her as best he could.
Rui kept her grip on the boy's hand loose once he'd righted himself. This way, he could choose whether he wanted to keep holding her hand or if he wanted to let go—Rui was fine with either outcome.
She glanced at Anahita as the group carefully made their way through the foliage back to the main path; unsurprisingly, the Blissey's focus was almost entirely on the boy. Another pair of eyes looking for whatever this creature was wouldn't go amiss, but she couldn't ask Anahita to do that, not when she was already fretting over this poor kid.
"Do you remember what it looked like?" Rui asked in reference to whatever had attacked. Kama would make a good scout, she decided, but first, Rui wanted to get a better idea of what they were dealing with.

The question earned a strange noise from the child, a soft 'hmpgh' of strain. The Porygon did its best to press against him in reassurance. "It had.... a lot of... tentacles??" there was a sort of strange question to this as if the boy wasn't entirely sure he was describing it correctly at all. "Kind of like a eel but???" A pause. "Big and white." That was probably clearer than anything.
Luckily it seems you hit the road before coming into contact with anything that even remotely resembles what the child is alluding to. Perhaps it had moved on after all? The road looks pretty serene as it had up to the point of running into the Porygon. You can kind of see the start of the town back the way you came.
Tentacles... The first thing that came to Rui's mind was Tentacruel, but those wouldn't be in this area, would they? No, no, not this close to the volcano... Like an eel? That just threw Rui for even more of a loop. What kind of eel had tenta—?
Big and white.
Big and white. Tentacles. The image of that horrible creature from six years ago—Nihilego, the Parasite—sprung into Rui's mind, and her blood ran cold. She tried to keep her composure, but Anahita noticed the way she went stiff and trilled a quiet question. Rui could barely even smile reassuringly.
"Did it... perhaps look like a jellyfish?" she asked the child quietly. There was nothing of the sort on the walk to the path, and Rui's Spirit Sensing didn't seem to be picking anything up, but the thought that this child had been attacked by that thing heightened the sense of urgency in her veins. She needed to get to the Moonrise Ruins as soon as possible.
But first, of course, was making sure this child got medical attention.

Rui Sasaki The Porygon shakes their head at the question. They didn't get that much of a look of the scary thing. Though the further along the road they went, the antsier they seemed to get. It looked like there was something wrong in the area, like a big beast had ran through the woods, uprooting trees and snapping several big tree trunks as if they'd been little more than twigs. There was certainly something about the area that screamed that this was definitely an anomaly. The Porygon especially looked scared and uncertain, were they going to run into the thing that caused all this destruction?
Rui's eyes widened at the destruction before her. She grabbed one of the Poké Balls from her belt and popped it open; as soon as Kama had fully emerged, Rui spoke: "Kama, fly up and keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary. Call out if you see anything." She knew a Scizor's wings were mostly used for keeping them cool, but this was an emergency, and Kama was her best shot at having a lookout.
Kama stared at her trainer in shock for a moment before her eyes fell on the ripped-up trees. Understanding the severity of the situation, she nodded and spent a few seconds beating her wings until she got enough lift to hover into the air.
"Come on," she said to the child and his Porygon. "We're getting close to town." She could feel her heart hammering beneath her ribs, but she took slow, even breaths to calm herself. Panicking now would be the worst possible thing. Instead, she focused on her Spirit Sensing to see if she could detect anything out of the ordinary while Anahita trilled comfortingly to the child and the Porygon.

Rui Sasaki As the group near town, dark clouds started to form, seems like there's a storm coming and judging by the fierce winds around the party, it'll be soon. The Porygon was scooped up in the child's arms quickly, the boy's eyes wild with fright but nodded and started to run to town, something made difficult with the wind whipping around them.
While Rui could certainly feel that there had been something strange in the area, it was long gone (for now). Traces of ultra radiation surrounds the destruction but it is unclear exactly what caused it.
