| Abioye looked around and spotted a red snom separated from the others. Tau watched as the large, spikey pokemon carefully approached the wild type that was literally one-fifth of its height. The snom seemed frightened at the large pokemon, and attacked out of fear. Powder Snow hit, but Abioye didn't seem too affected by it. After a moment of hesitation, the large pokemon used Scratch on the tiny red snom.
Tau thought the druddigon's hesitance and cautious nature was hilarious given his appearance. Tau's laughter caught Abioye's ear, who promptly felt embarrassed and sat on the ground to pout. Tau started apologizing, approaching his delicate beast of a pokemon as he did so. When he was close enough, he tossed a regular pokeball at the snom to see if it would be that easy.

Gabe had told himself he really didn’t need a Snom. He was not very interested in a Pokemon that had double the weakness in his favorite Typing, but there had been something about the way in which Senara had fawned over hers that… may have tugged on his heart strings a little more than he wanted. He supposed they were rather cute, and if he really ended up hating it, he could trade it away or sell it with relative ease. That was what he told himself as he walked around searching for one of them.
On his shoulder sat Candle the Litwick who was just there to make easy work of the Snom. He wasn’t exactly pleased to be used like this, but he was also kind of amused that a pyromaniac like Gabe was out here looking around for a small ice bug to begin with. Hah, whatever.

word count: 278 Sheesh it was cold. Elizabeth was making a quick pit stop on Route 7 as she'd heard rumors in Birch of a coveted bug creature that was currently swarming the area. Snom was a bug and ice type, native to the Galar region, and something Liz had never seen before. Curious the girl had set out with her pokemon to see about obtaining one of these odd little snow bugs.
Raya was accompanying the ranger as usual though a few more recent arrivals were also with the brunette. Chani, Levin and Ena had all been cleared through customs and were excited to be out exploring, especially Ena. Raya, Chani and Levin all stayed close to their trainer looking a little like her own personal guard. It was good to have them back with her but the ranger had always felt they could stand to relax a little. Ena was wandering on ahead and Ayla was flying above them. Liz had opted to leave Haldor in his pokeball for the time being as they weren't currently traveling just looking for bugs.
"And what do these creatures look like again ma'am?" The steady psychic voice of the gallade entered Liz's mind and brought a small smile to the girl's face. She'd missed the reciprocated telepathy provided by her psychic types and it didn't feel quite so empty in her own head when they were with her.
"Little white spikey caterpillars with two rounded pincers. Here this is what the pokedex shows." The ranger responded as she held up her worn pokedex for Levin and the others to see. The gallade nodded and resumed keeping an eye out as did the others. --- |

Gabe didn’t actually see the Snom at first. Nor did Candle. They might have immediately passed by it had not the rash little thing suddenly attacked with a Struggle Bug! A sharp yelp escaped from Gabe as he was knocked into and knocked right on his ass for it. Candle went falling off his shoulder and immediately sat up and started cussing in response. That hurt! They weren’t doing anything, and it just decides it’s gonna do that?? The second Gabe ordered an “Inferno,” it was on!
Or at least it would have been if not for the massive Type advantage and the overall weakness of the Snom. The harsh flame attack had the Snom yelping and flailing around in the snow right after, trying very hard to recoup. “Hang on,” Gabe ordered, fishing out the first ball he had on hand and tossing it at the Snom.

word count: 325 From under some days old snow out popped one of the little bug critters. Chani alerted the others to the snow bug's presence and Liz turned toward the spot indicated. The ranger grinned and approached quietly. Levin, Chani and Raya stayed back but kept an eye out. None of them were particularly primed for fighting an icy bug but they'd do in a pinch.
Though before Liz could get any closer Ena suddenly appeared and yipped happily at the snow bug. She lunged forward and began sniffing all over the poor snom. Liz stifled a laugh and reached down to pick up the overeager flareon. "Whoa, whoa, take it easy there girl. You don't want to smother the poor thing." The ranger shook her head with a grin and cradled the fire type with one arm.
The snom didn't seem harmed and looked rather delighted by the attention. She scuttled up to the group and began chittering excitedly. Liz raised a brow and slowly knelt down to the bug's level, letting Ena hop back down. The snom suddenly scrambled up on Ena's back and snuggled into her warm mane. Liz chuckled and glanced at Raya and the others who shrugged.
"A snow bug that likes the warmth. Maybe that'll be incentive for her to come with." The girl mused as she patted Ena's head. The flareon kept trying to turn her head and see the snom still wanting to play. "Heya Snom. You like Ena's warm fur huh? Would you like to come with us and keep snuggling in her fur?"
The girl inquired reaching out to Snow to gently stroke the top of her head. Snom looked contented though Liz couldn't be sure if that was a confirmation or not. She produced a pokeball then showed it to Snom. "See? If you want to come with you just have to tap the white button." She told her curious to see if Snom would accept.

word count: 278 Huh, well looks like the snom didn't like that. She wriggled away from Liz and buried herself further in Ena's mane. Ena whined as she circled around still trying to get at her new buggy friend. The girl frowned and rocked back on her heels, maybe the snom needed a little more persuading? She shook her head and tried to grab hold of Ena. "Hey easy, settle down silly, I can't use the pokeball on Snom if you don't hold still."
The girl chuckled then looked back at Snom. "Don't worry, it's nice and warm inside the pokeball too. And if you want I've got a luxury ball here, it's really quite nice." The ranger had almost forgotten about the lovely black and yellow ball. She pulled it from her pack and showed it to the snom.
Snom peered out from Ena's fur a little curious about the odd ball. She hadn't liked being stuffed into that ugly red and white one at all. Liz hoped that perhaps she'd take to the luxury ball instead. The girl had other balls as well if needed. But hopefully the second time would be the charm. She didn't really want to have to fight Snom, she preferred trying things the nice way first. The girl gave Snom a friendly grin as she extended the ball towards it.
"See? Doesn't that look nice and cozy?" Liz inquired. She wasn't sure if Snom was quite getting the idea or if she was just too content hiding in Ena's heated mane. Ayla, Raya, Chani and Levin were all pretty invested now, watching curiously to see if the snom would take to this ball instead.

They seemed kind of like a weak type of Pokemon but perhaps there would be a chance to evolve them into something stronger. Besides, Wren wanted to see just what all the fuss was about for themselves and this was the quickest way to see. With Mockingjay and Nightingale out at the moment, Wren was keeping an eye out to see how quickly they could find the Snom swarm. How hard could it really be after all? The Snom seemed startled by the appearance of the Litwick and ushered up a Powder Snow. Elanor squeaked in surprise before ushering up an Ember of her own. Koray saw the small fight that broke out before he was able to calm Elanor down enough to throw a Nest Ball in the Snom's direction. There was no need to scare the poor thing anymore than they already were. "Shh, it's alright Elanor, he was just surprised, that's all..." It took a little longer than Koray thought to calm the Litwick down but well, he couldn't really blame her. Lvl 6 |

Nightingale would be the one that bounded towards it, Scratching it playfully seemingly only to be covered by a Powdered Snow thereafter. Ouch! That hurt quite a bit! Wren watched in quiet amusement as he proceeded to 'play' with the Snom for quite sometime before they decided enough was enough and tossed a pokeball at the exhausted and probably traumatized Snom. "Alright, Night, give it a rest, sweetie~," Wren cooed, nuzzling their darling Zorua. There was no need to get so worked up over such a little cutie, was there now~. |
