Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
To participate in the Community Garden, first post in this thread looking for a Pokemon. A mod will tag you and reply with stats for one Pokemon you find, including color and possibly even evolution depending on the species. Reply again encountering and trying to capture the Pokemon. Once you succeed, do not post in the thread again unless looking for a new encounter.
You get one free catch per month, and up to four encounters per month. Each catch after the first will cost you 100 Pen. Be sure to note how many Pokemon you've caught for the mod when you capture one.
Pokemon in the Garden have a +20% capture rate with any ball, and will never flee.
The Garden stock will rotate out at 11:59pm site time on June 30. After that, no new encounters will be spawned. However, anyone who has an ongoing encounter that isn't yet finished has until 11:59pm on the 15th of the following month to finish trying to catch their encounter. After that, the thread will be locked and archived.

A community garden, filled with pokemon with rare colorations...? The garden alone was beautiful - Kuro being visibly keen on admiring the flora, and Makoto briefly pausing to sniff at some flowers. However, even while they were indeed here to admire the scenery... Makoto was also interested in exploring the garden, to see just what might appear, from the rustling foliage in the area... In particular, a nearby bush would begin to rustle; drawing both individual's attentions. Kuro, in particular, would shy away to hide behind Makoto's legs; peeking just around them, to see what might come out of the bush...
... What was it, that they had run into? Kuro the Zorua - Level 5 - 5/5 Energy
Julia had rambled excitedly about this community garden so much to the attendant that they'd had to gently usher her into said garden and just leave so they could take care of other visitors. Julia didn't seem to mind, though, already looking around with bright, starry eyes. A whole garden full of uniquely colored Pokémon... How awesome was that?!
Lucky, perched on her shoulder, let out an awed coo of his own. Once the two were further in, he suddenly launched off Julia's shoulder and flew off. "Hey!" Julia called. "Wait up!" She ran after him, partially out of curiosity about what he'd find, partially out of worry that he'd get himself into trouble again.

"What do you think that we'll find out here, Anne?" Ettie would ask in a soft and hushed voice, as she stalked along the gardens; low to the ground, like how a prowling wolf might move. This garden was completely new to her - but in hearing that rare pokemon might be lurking about here, well... It was safe to say, that Ettie wanted in on it, and wanted to see just what all the place had to offer! Anne, though, would only make an unsure "Rowrl..." in response. Certainly, there were rare pokemon here; but what were the odds that they had of finding one...? OOC: First roll!
Those odds, apparently, were quite good! Trotting out from the foliage, an autumn-colored Skiddo would appear; quietly glancing about at his surroundings. A relaxed fella; Ettie couldn't help a warm smile at seeing him, on top of the odd colors. Not a puppy - so Ettie wasn't completely interested in him - but... Maybe Azur would like him? Or another trainer? All else fails, she didn't mind if he ran away, either.
With that in mind, Ettie would pull out a pokeball; deciding to throw one straight away, just to see what happens! Catching the Skiddo with a Pokeball!
Out of the bush, came none other than a little Bulbasaur! A rather serious-looking one, if the look in his eyes implied anything. In fact, he seemed quite serious, on challenging Kuro to a little fight with a sharp cry! Kuro, remembering the rough time he had fighting the Skarmory, wasn't totally sure if he was sold on the idea of fighting with the little plant dinosaur...
... But Makoto was more than happy to reassure him, patting him on the head. "There there, Kuro. This fight won't be so bad as the one against that Skarmory, I'm sure." They'd murmur to the little fox; smiling gently. "Think you could give a fight another shot for me?" Kuro would be quiet, thinking it over - as though weighing his options... Though, not wanting to disappoint Makoto, he would soon nod - turning his attentions to the Bulbasaur, and preparing for a fight!
This one would, thankfully, go much better than the fight with the Skarmory; given that this Bulbasaur was an unevolved pokemon, on top of not being quite as bulky as the steel type. Kuro, in fact, seemed to be doing quite well; being higher level than the Bulbasaur, after all! Before long, the Bulbasaur would begin to tire, and Makoto would pull out a pokeball; tossing it at the pokemon. Catching the Bulbasaur w a pokeball!
...Community garden they said... filled to brim with oddly colored Pokemons they said... He does encountered one of those rare colored Pokemons once before... and he's honestly interested in what sort of Pokemon that he'll get. Thanks, collector guy. He wish he know who the person personally was so he could send him a bit of a thank you letter or something but for the meantime, he would enter the garden, together with some other people, then started looking for the Pokemon. Anything would be great really! Even if it doesn't fit his taste he could just wonder trade it or something like that...
"C'mon, let's check it out!" he told his team. Does he have any preferences? Well not really... But he thought a Skiddo would be nice, or a Bulbasaur. Those are tough lookin'.
...Score, that's what he want. Bulbasaurs are generally friendly, and this one looks like it got quite the personality too, being a bit mischievous, poking Agate with its vine whip, but did not hit him with it or anything. So... He guess he'll try tossing a ball at it anyway. Fighting it might not be the right choice here, but either way, he need to hurry up to give the next batch of trainers their chance of entering too!
A community garden, filled with pokemon... Andrew, honestly, found the prospect rather interesting; spending time in a beautiful garden was already relaxing enough, but given his passion for pokemon as well? Well, to say the least, he wanted in on this - even if he was shying away from the other gardengoers, all the while. Inari, meanwhile, would be close at his heel - sniffing about at the air, glancing around curiously. What pokemon would they meet, in this Community Garden? OOC: First go

A Bulbasaur was now under their belt; and an interesting one, at that. Makoto was split on whether or not to keep the little grass type; they tended to prefer dark and fire types, as well as more feline or vulpine pokemon... But this pokemon, while being outside Makoto's usual comfort zone, was quite beautiful; pinks and especially the purples. Huhm...
Well, in any case, Makoto would take the time to patch Kuro up after their little match; giving him a chance to rest, while they'd continue onwards, through the garden. Being cradled in Makoto's arms after a exhausting little spar, Kuro was content to simply relax like this. OOC: Second Roll

Score! The odd colored little Skiddo was caught! Ettie would giggle and grin as Anne retrieved the pokeball for her; pocketing the ball once she received it. She couldn't wait to show this to Azur; maybe he'd like a pretty autumn-colored pokemon like this, even if this Skiddo isn't entirely up her alley? And if not him, then maybe another trainer will be willing to trade with her!
Her luck was feeling pretty good, in any case; and so, with Anne at her side, she'd continue to search around the garden for more pokemon! OOC: Second Roll
If there was anything that Andrew expected, as he continued to walk through the garden, it probably was not an ebony-black blur; a large Pidgey, out of nowhere, diving down to Quick Attack Inari! The vulpix would yelp from the strike, stumbling backwards a handful of paces; and Andrew, too, would have to back away. As the Pidgey backed away from Inari with a quick flap of her wings, she would follow up with a Gust; though Inari, by now, was prepared - darting back and out of the way.
As the vulpix bared her fangs and growled, the sun shining above would seem to shine a little brighter; prompting Andrew to pull his hood up a little more. However, he was ready to direct Inari; pointing at the Pidgey, and calling "Flamethrower, Inari!"
Snarling, Inari would let out a blast of flames at the Pidgey; and though she was lower level, being a fire type and having Drought active would make the already-respectable attack even stronger. The Pidgey would squawk at the flames that washed over her, darting to the side to avoid being burnt any further; before using Mirror Move, to breathe out her own blast of flames! Though Inari was struck, it thankfully wouldn't hurt as much; the Pidgey not being a fire type, and Inari being resistant to fire type attacks.
As both combatants traded blows, Andrew would prepare a normal pokeball; pulling it out of his pocket. A Heat Wave would wash over the Pidgey, briefly making her flight waver - and it would be the perfect chanse for him to throw it out, in the bird's direction. Hopefully, this fight softened her up enough, for the catch to stick...! Pokeball, go!
(And roll my second encounter too, please)

Makoto, admittedly, didn't spot the Pidgey immediately, when they passed him by. However, it was hard to miss the melodious tweeting that both they and Kuro would hear; prompting them to gaze up towards an ebony Pidgey, who was singing and tweeting his heart out, from his perch on a nearby branch. Though Kuro was initially as shy as always, even he seemed to relax from the singing; settling down in Makoto's arms, as his trainer sat down on a nearby bench.
Seeing that he had an audience, the Pidgey would tilt his head a bit, before hopping down to a lower branch, closer to Makoto and Kuro. He would soon resume his singing; tweeting along as he pleased, while Makoto and Kuro both simply relaxed and listened in. As the Pidgey began tweeting a familiar song though, Makoto would perk up a little; glancing in the bird's direction, and experimentally whistling out a few notes alongside the Pidgey.
Caught off guard, the little bird would pause; blinking in Makoto's direction, and tilting his head quizzically, at the human trying to sing along. Did they know his song? Testing the waters, the Pidgey would tweet out a few notes, and Makoto would - in response - whistle back a few of their own. Before long, the two would be whistling a duet to each other; Kuro letting out a wide yawn, as he simply relaxed and listened. As the duo sung, the Pidgey would hop down onto the bench; perched on the back of it, next to Makoto and Kuro.
Trainer and Pidgey both would whistle to each other until Makoto could whistle no more - their mouth getting dry, and the shared songs that they both knew being exhausted. Though the Pidgey seemed faintly disappointed at Makoto no longer singing with, they would still pull out a pokeball; mentioning "That singing of yours is very nice; and I think that Kuro here enjoyed it, too. Would you like to come with me, at all, so that we can sing together again sometime?" Pokeball, go! (second catch, and could you roll a third encounter for me please?)

Slow and careful, a Bulbasaur would lumber into view; though Ettie couldn't help a slight pout. This one wasn't really all that interesting, either! But... Maybe someone else could appreciate a pokemon like this? Nonetheless, he seemed to be an easygoing and calm fellow, like Adhara is; and just as careful as well, with how mindful his steps are, to avoid disturbing any flowers. Briefly, Ettie would wonder, if he would appreciate some food being shared with him!
"Hey there, buddy!" Ettie would chirp, kneeling down to the Bulbasaur's level. The grass type would regard her for a few moments, before croaking in a greeting of his own; plopping down in place, to regard her. "Me and Anne were gonna sit down and have some lunch; do you want to hang out with us?" Ettie questioned, sitting down on a bench, and pulling out a lunchbox; one that Azur had prepared for her, at one point. The Bulbasaur, looking interested, would hop up onto the bench next to her - Anne on the opposite side - as Ettie brought out some pokefood, a couple of sandwiches, and plenty of treats.
As Ettie set down a couple of bowls with the pokefood, Anne and the Bulbasaur both would idly chat as they ate; while Ettie, meanwhile, would eat her sandwiches - wondering who would appreciate a Bulbasaur like this one. Maybe... She had someone in mind?
"... Say," Ettie would begin, as she finished off her sandwiches - the two pokemon, too, finishing their food. "I think I know a trainer, who'd really like to meet a Bulbasaur like yourself; would you like to come with me, so I could introduce you to them?" The Bulbasaur would glance up, making a curious tilt of his head, as Ettie extended a Nest Ball in offering. Nest Ball, go! (And roll me a third encounter too, please!)
