It had been just a bit passed midnight when a strange knock had come to their door. Sid hadn’t actually registered it as such initially. They were in the middle of a heated MMO chat argument only stopped when the BANG of their front door being blasted inwards and crashing into the interior of the house hit their ears. They’d come running down the stairs in their pac-man t-shirt dress and Buneary print pajama bottoms to see the massive creature that had made her presence known there. They stared for a moment only… before knowing for sure who it was. “Saber-chan….”
After that, everything moved quickly, entirely too quickly. Saber was there, and Kaisei was in trouble. And then more people were in trouble in the little farming town of Fuji. Headache, head pain, head splitting pain. Together, Sid and Saber checked in on as many as they could taking those in pain to the local hospital. There were many.
Now just under an hour later, Sid was working in that hospital making their rounds… and trying to keep composed. The hospital was so over flooded with patients with the same symptoms that private rooms were no longer an option, and several larger rooms had to be used communally with only thin dividers between them.
Sid was lucky they had enough sense to grab their wallet before leaving and supply their credentials to the clinic when they got there. They were luck to be able to find some scrubs that fit. They were lucky they weren’t one of the many coming in still with headaches galore. But they were unlucky to see so many in pain, pain that seemed to be almost untreatable to some individuals.
Coming to a stop at another patient, they grabbed the chart immediately and checked it. “Has the pain subsided at all?” they asked quietly.
Only those who would reasonably be in the clinic in Fuji right now, pls.

At first it was a pleasant night... just... happy, pleasant night sort of event where he just returned from his secret base, having trained his Pokemons, training Aura with his Riolu and Lucario... many positive vibes, basically. He felt a bit accomplished, ready to go home with his Growlithe and Rockruff beside him, both yipping and barking happily... Anat and Riku following the trio close behind... Yeah, he was just supposed to turn this way, to his own house in Fuji, crash, sleep, get ready for tomorrow...
Before that happened that is.
The first to react was Anat, howling in pain, clutching her head, then Riku, howling louder.... and finally him. The sudden pain was almost enough to knock him unconscious. His hand slipped away from the handle of the door, and before he knew it, his level of vision wasn't at its usual height, but instead on the ground. Agate clutched his head, breathing heavily. His aura sight going overdrive with light just bursting like fireworks. Seizure? He's not sure, but he tried to wrestle the control of his sight once more, but it was to no avail. Fu--...
"Agh...ahhg....gahakk..." he cannot even vocalize to ask for help. The pain was really bad. However... at the very least he could stand up again, shaky as it is. He immediately sat on top of a crate that he used to store his farm products.
Agate reached his phone... If he recalls it correctly... then the number that he should call right now would be...
Sid's.
From that point on, it was a blur. He did not even remember what's going on after he supported himself to sit on crates outside his house. He returned Riku and Anat back to their Pokeball... and as for himself... perhaps he passed out right after he made that call. And when he came to, he was here, in the hospital. The sharp pain is still there, but at the very least it wasn't to point of crippling like before... His sight still looked a bit trippy. Too many colors, too many shift in the air... auras on where there supposed to be none. It felt... Alien.
Agate reached for a blindfold and covered his eyes with it. At the very least, it might help some...? Probably...
"Is that you, Sid-sensei?" he asked when he heard the familiar face of the nurse. He turned his head around to Sid's general direction. "...Not quite, but at least I can talk now..."
It was shortly after midnight, when Makoto awoke to Kama and Tachi in pain. Tachi was howling in agony, rolling back and forth, and clutching at his head - and though Kama was wincing and whimpering in pain, he still remained at Kama's side; worriedly chittering and stroking the back of a claw over the agonized Mienfoo's head. Kuro and Tengu, too, would both be awake; Kuro whimpering with worry, paws pushing at Makoto's arm helplessly - as if he were trying to ask them for help - and Tengu perched nearby, watching over the pained duo, attempting to make soothing and gentle tweets at them to little effect. Tired and bewildered, Makoto wouldn't exactly be able to form coherent thoughts or words; and yet, they still were able to recognize that something was terribly, terribly, wrong.
Not even bothering to change out of their nightgown, Makoto would slip on a pair of sandals, grab their cellphone, and return Kama and Tachi both to their pokeballs; heading out of their townhouse, and heading out into the night, moving for the clinic. They'd see other people as they ran; the occasional worried trainer rushing in the same direction or cradling their precious pokemon close, as well as other people helping the rare similarly pained individuals along towards the clinic. Distantly, Makoto could hear the howls of pained pokemon and humans alike.
The normally shy Kuro paid little mind to these other strangers being nearby, though; simply tailing close to Makoto, being more worried for his friends than his own anxieties. Tengu, though, couldn't help glancing about from his perch on Makoto's head; his feathers puffing up anxiously, from the strange sight of so many individuals being in pain like this. What in the world was going on...?
Upon reaching the clinic, it would be a flurry of activiy; doctors having to sort through the different patients who had come in, with similar pains. As Kama and Tachi were both noted and admitted to a room - Kama refusing to leave Tachi's side - Makoto would be like a fussy mother; seated at the bedside, not leaving their sides either, not for even a minute. A hand would be gently stroking over both weasel pokemons' heads, as Makoto softly hushed their pained whimpers and howls, and sung to them to soothe them. "Shhh... I know, darlings... I know it hurts... It's okay, I'm here, I got you..." Even in saying this, though; their brows were knitted with concern and stress. Something clearly was going on; something was terribly wrong, between this and the news that would rattle on from a nearby TV.
Tengu would be perched on one of the lights - dimmed, for the duo's comfort - in the room, keeping a close eye on everything that was going on as he, too, sung to Kama and Tachi. Kuro, meanwhile, would be snuggled up to Kama and Tachi both - softly whining in worry. Why were Kama and Tachi both in this much pain, Kuro wondered? Why was everyone else in pain, too..? What was going on..??
As time passed, it seemed that their pain was slowly - ever so slowly - beginning to fade. That, or the two were simply beginning to endure it; it was hard to say for sure. Either way, Kama's whimpers would soon subside to soft hisses and winces, and Tachi would no longer be yowling or crying out, simply continuing to whimper and whine. Makoto continued to gently hold their hands and stroke their heads; pressing a gentle kiss to both of their foreheads, in an affectionate gesture as they continued to murmur soft nothings to them. "You're both doing so good... The hurt will go away soon, you're both in good hands... Just be good for the doctors when they come back, okay?" They'd murmur, the stress slowly decreasing as the two pokemon's own discomfort seemed to decrease. Tachi, delirious from the pain, had been lashing out at doctors who tried to touch him - though they and Kama were thankfully able to keep him calm and under control otherwise.
As a nurse - a rather cute individual (albeit this wasn't the time for flirting) that Makoto overheard another young boy calling Sid-sensei - came in to check on everyone, Makoto would glance in the other's direction. "They're both still hurting..." Makoto murmured; adding "But the discomfort seems to be going down some..." Kama would softly whine - more out of worry than out of pain - in Sid's direction, as if trying to ask if everything would be okay.
Tachi, though, would weakly glare the nurse down with narrowed eyes; he was scared and confused, he was unable to think straight past the pain, and he didn't like being touched by strangers. This translated into the Meinfoo being volatile when strangers got too close; but Makoto was quick to try and soothe him once more, hushing him and stroking the top of his head.Hopefully, before long, this all would pass like a bad dream for the lot of them...

It had been a pleasant night, and Sonia had gone to bed early. Her crops and berries were ready to be harvested and while she didn't usually stay at her farm, tonight had been an exception. She had only intended to wake up early so that she could harvest and maybe still have a chance to get a ride back home. Or stay another night and prepare some of her produce. But that wasn't meant to be.
Everyone was out of their balls for the night, Sonia giving them all a chance to be out of their balls given the space. There was even a pond not far from the house which Mizune, Mana and even Ceecee were enjoying. Valiant had his own stall right beside the building, and the rest of the smaller Pokemon (which was mainly several Eevees right now) were scattered about her room with Prince and Darling noticeably on her bed.
But then the pain started, blue eyes shooting open and already watering. Sonia couldn't even sit up, hands going to her head and threading through her hair. And though she knew her vocal cords couldn't handle it very well, she wailed in pain. The sound woke all of her Pokemon, and other than the water bound Lapras they all came rushing to their trainer. Valiant and Mana even going so far as to break down the door to get inside.
It was sort of embarrassing now, Sonia was still in her pajamas. Dark blue fuzzy pants with rainbows printed on them, and a plain blue tshirt. Her hair down from her usual braided look. And her head hurt like there was no tomorrow, which as far as she could tell there wasn't. Worst of all, she was now alone. Mostly. Prince had been writhing in pain as well, so the young Ralts had been returned to his ball when it had been speculated just what was wrong. So now all of her Pokemon were in their balls out of fear. Other than the one singular Eevee who refused. Darling, the little darling, refused to leave Sonia by her lonesome.
Especially as the girl couldn't communicate like usual. With her head hurting and throbbing as much as it was, she couldn't reach out with her telepathy. When she tried, she just got a stabbing pain that was even worse than what she was already feeling, and if she heard anything it was simply static. Like a radio station that had gone offline. And since she had been in too much pain to function, let alone think, she didn't have her usual bag on her. No phone, no dry erase board, and as per usual there was no guarantee that anyone there could even understand sign language. She was muted, for who knows how long.
So the girl was very much muted, and now in a room with a handful of other individuals that she couldn't communicate with. And if she were to be honest, she wasn't the most certain how she got there. There was vague memories of Valiant and Mana, and maybe Sid? It was hard to say, but she definitely recalled seeing something white.
But now the girl was pacing the room, doing her best to not disturb the others though it would likely happen with the thin dividers. And her occasional stopping to whimper in pain and cuddle against the Eevee who insisted on not leaving Sonia's side. Then Sid came in, and Sonia who thought she had imagined her friend hurried over to him. She was still teary eyed, but smiling gratefully as Darling squeaked a greeting.
Oh, right, they were actually working. And though Sonia really wanted to reach out her mind to explain what was going on, she couldn't. So instead, she did what she could, and that was hold up her thumb and finger, pinched together but with a bit of a space between them. The pain had let up a little bit, and hopefully Sid understood that.
They knew of her powers, and surely they would understand that since she wasn't speaking to them how she usually would they understood she couldn't? She tried not to sniffle, but sniffled and held her arms out to Sid. Good thing Darling was on her shoulder, because Sonia really wanted a hug. She felt so helpless.
Sid’s eyes fell first to Agate first, and they immediately bit their lower lip. Was it still too bright in the room for him? They wished there was a way to dim the lights further without making it pitch black in here. “It’s me, yeah,” they answered. Their eyes flicked over to his bedside where they were glad to see that there was a pitcher of water and a glass already there. “Is the blindfold helping?” they asked pausing to write down whatever was said before checking on what pain medications he’d already received. Right. "I’ll bring you some more ice to put on the back of your neck soon…” they spoke softly still.
Their attention then turned to the next patient nearby: or pair of patients, rather. Two Pokemon were in treatment from the look of the chart information. Their human, a person in a nightgown, gave them a bit of a voice. A soft “Ah…” escaped from them as they looked down to the Sneasel and Mienfoo. Their eyes locked onto the Sneasel and then flickered to the Mienfoo. The glare earned a soft wince back. Poor thing…. Looking down at their charts, Sid winced a little finding that they were close to maxing on what pain meds they could be given already. The other nurses were probably scrambling like crazy. “I’ll bring you both some ice as well,” they murmured. “And maybe some more pillows…” Two Pokemon were roughly the size of one human, but that hardly meant they were entirely comfortable as they were.
Sid had been about to ask a few questions and check a few notes on their current pain regimen when they found Sonia by their side. She looked… so worn, and they kind of wanted to cry for her. Or hug her. Or both. It took a moment for them to register her hand gesture, but as it clicked, they nodded and quickly scribbled it down. Oh whatever. They couldn’t quite be as professional as they wanted to in this circumstance. Both arms opened, and they gave her a quick hug in reassurance. “You’re going to be ok,” they murmured easing back again. “Can I get anything for you?” they asked.
"Oh, thank goodness," Agate replied softly to that reassurance that it's indeed Sid. "...Quite so," he answered to the question whether the blindfold is helping. "I don't think that it'll be significant enough though... at the moment it felt like my eyes are assaulted by quite a lot of light effects... You know, like staring at fireworks, but they're right in front of you... I think I need to check my Pokemons soon just in case.. they're both... also affected..."
....Affected? That's when he noted that there are other voices too. Cursing, someone trying to reassure their children perhaps? Another nurse? He can't tell. He's in world of hurt, and it's not helping. But he must stay strong... so that the other with worse symptoms could be treated. He cannot even think straight at times like this. His brain would overload, and he's getting moody... so the best way is to perhaps not think at all.
"...Sid-sensei, are there other people here? I can... barely tell. Or more like, I can't tell much by how many different colors are in front of me at the moment..." he tilted his head. "Sorry, I don't think I was supposed to talk with you at lengths like this if this is communal room... You have to check the others, don't you? ...Please check them first... I'm sure they're more hurting than me at the moment."
Just to reassure the nurse, he would flex and grins. "I'm pretty strong! And I'm sure I'll get better soon enough!"
Oh god, even trying to be strong hurts so bad. Agate though tried to keep grinning. It's clear that he's hurting from how much cold sweats forming on his brows though. He plopped back to his bed, hissing in pain. He wondered if his father, mother and sister are fine... whatever happened anyway...?
It sounded that the young boy, beyond the divider, was a lively and caring soul; even past all the pain, Makoto could hear Agate trying to be strong and emphasize on Sid taking care over everyone else, and they couldn't help a wince of sympathy upon hearing the young boy hiss in pain as a result. Everyone here was hurting in some way, it seemed; and briefly, Makoto couldn't help but wonder if Kama and Tachi were seeing fireworks like Agate did.
A young woman would also come out to hug Sid - a rather stressed looking dear, that Makoto would also peer to with sympathy. Was she hurting, too? Poor darling... Hopefully, things would calm down soon.
As Sid mentioned getting some ice and pillows though, Makoto would nod slowly; appreciation and sympathy plain on their face. "Thank you, darling. I appreciate all the hard work you've been doing, looking after all of us." They'd respond; smiling gratefully, though also a hair apologetic. "I'm also sorry about how difficult Tachi's been lately; he doesn't mean it, and I'm sure he'll become a lot more cooperative and appreciative when the pain goes down..." Kama, too, would attempt a chitter and wave in Sid's direction - as if to show his own gratefulness - though the Sneasel would wince briefly and put a claw to his head, laying back down with Tachi. "I think Kama appreciates your effort, too." Makoto mused out loud; smiling in Sid's direction. "Again, thank you for everything."
With that, Makoto would turn their attention back to their pokemon, and begin gently stroking both weasel pokemons' heads. "You're such a sweetheart, Kama darling; but I need you to lay down and get some rest..." Kama, in response, would gently chitter in understanding and press his head into Makoto's hand, before trying his best to relax; gently wrapping his arms around Tachi, who was still whimpering in pain. Makoto frowned sympathetically to the Meinfoo, and would soon return to comforting him - gently hushing and murmuring soft nothings to Tachi.
Kuro, though, couldn't help a soft whine of his own, his head resting on his paws as he looked to everyone around him. The mood in the air, it felt low and almost grim, even. He couldn't help but feel just a little depressed, from the oppressive atmosphere and everything going on around him; and though he was shy and timid about strangers, he wanted to do something to make things better! The only thing, though, was that he wasn't sure what to do, exactly...
... At least, not until an idea suddenly occurred to him; his ears perking up. Hopping down from the bed, Kuro would trot over to the handbag that Makoto had carried everyone's pokeballs in, including their cellphone. Pulling the zipper to open it with his teeth, Kuro would begin to dig through the bag - much to Makoto's quiet curiosity and confusion - until he would, suddenly, pull out a ziploc baggy of homemade soft caramels, and present it to Makoto with a muffled little yip!
Makoto, blinking a bit, didn't immediately catch on to what Kuro was thinking; bending down to gently take the ziploc bag and open it. "Did you want a caramel, Kuro?" Makoto asked - though the Zorua would shake his head. Making a soft and insistent yowl-like yip, he'd gesture towards the dividers, and to Kama and Tachi, with his paws and tail. Only then, would Makoto catch on to what Kuro wanted; and they would be unable to help softly smiling, in a touched and endeared fashion. "Ah, darling... Did you want to share your caramels with the others?" They'd question - to which Kuro yipped and nodded. He wasn't quite confident enough to approach them himself; but with how much he loved Makoto's homemade caramels, he wanted to share them with everyone else, in hopes of cheering them up!
Makoto, smiling just a little brighter, would nod in understanding; pulling out a couple of pieces of soft caramels, and handing them to Kama and Tachi first. "Here you go, dears... Don't eat too fast, okay?" They'd instruct - not wanting the two to make themselves sick - to which Kama nodded, nibbling on his own. Tachi, though, didn't seem to quite have an appetite; simply holding his caramel in his paws, and staring down at it. As Makoto got up from their seat and gave Kuro a piece of his own - "And one for you, too, darling. Such a sweetheart, Kuro..." - the Zorua would hop back up to the bed to snuggle up to Kama and Tachi - watching over them, as he nibbled on his own soft caramel.
With that, Makoto would start to distribute the caramels to the others. "Knock knock," They would gently speak, as they peeked around Agate's divider first. "Is it alright if I come over, to share some soft caramels, darling?" They'd ask, voice soft and gentle. If Agate accepted the offer, Makoto would quietly walk over to his bedside - "Hold out your hand, dear - " and would place a few soft caramels in the palm of his hand. "There you go... Let me know if you have any pokemon that would like one, too."
Regardless of whether or not Agate accepted the offer though, Makoto would smile gently - mentioning "Don't overexert or force yourself, by the way, darling. I can appreciate that you're strong, but now's the time to rest, okay?" They sounded almost like a mother, in the way they spoke to Agate; gentle and caring, though also somewhat concerned.
Next though, would be Sonia - Makoto carefully peeking around the divider to her. "Would you and your pokemon like some caramels, dear?" Makoto would ask the quiet woman - briefly wondering if the quietness was a result of the headaches that people have been having or not. Just like with Agate, if Sonia accepted, Makoto would hand out a few caramels to her - and they would also pass out caramels to the other pokemon present, if any of them wanted one as well. "There we go... You take it easy too, okay darling?"
Once the two patients and their pokemon had their shares of caramel, though, Makoto would hum a little; noting that the bag was almost empty now. Once this was all over, they'd need to cook another batch of caramels! After briefly passing by one of the lights to pass a caramel to Tengu, only two were left in the bag - which they'd finally offer to Sid, smiling warmly to the other nurse. "Would you like some caramels as well, dear? Don't be afraid to take the last ones - everyone else has already taken their shares."
Yeah, she probably didn't look the greatest? Hair loose and falling down her back, unkempt from what sleep she had gotten before all of this happened. But waking up so suddenly, and then the amount of pain she had been in and for how long. Yeah, she imagined she didn't look the greatest. She at least had bags under her eyes, and she was tired. Oh Arceus how she just wanted to go back to sleep!
But at least Sid understood her, even with her being more mute than usual. Oh how she had taken her telepathy for granted! If only she had her purse. But, hugging Sid really helped. Just the feeling of warmth from the arms around her and from being held against other. Yeah, that actually helped a lot, though she also felt a little bad for breaching Sid's professionalism like that. Though they also could have easily said no as well, but, they both probably needed the contact to some extent. Still Sonia wiped at her eyes as they pulled away, nodding a little. She was going to be okay, it would just take time.
But, could Sid get her anything? Even though she had been in pain, she was still keeping track of her medication as best as she could. It was still too soon for her to take more, but you know what would really help? She could do her hair! Finger combing wasn't the greatest option, and she lacked a mirror, but she could still braid it.
So she lifted up a single finger before pointing to her bare wrist, then pulling her hair forward and miming twisting it into a ponytail. Then, she pointed to Sid's hair. That was the best she could think of to ask if Sid had a spare hair tie. They too had long hair and surely they understood the hassle and kept a spare? Sonia didn't want to ask for too much more, she felt bad asking for such an odd thing anyway, and if Sid didn't have one on them at that moment then Sonia would just shake her head and smile, mouthing that it was alright.
The other's needed Sid just as much, if not more than she did.
Though, there was someone else in the room who wanted to help. Sonia could hear them, but of course she didn't want to invade their privacy so she sat back on the edge of her bed. Darling was still very worried, dark eyes still looking up at Sonia worriedly even as the girl used her fingers to begin combing through her hair. It helped her feel better at least. Though, Sonia was still caught off guard when someone came around her divider. She didn't recognize them, so they most likely hadn't met before, but they were still offering her something?
Caramels? Oh my goodness! They were homemade too! One cook to another, she could just tell. Here eyes brightened, face lighting up in a genuine smile as she held out her hands and a couple were dropped into them. They looked so good! Sonia didn't know if this person knew sign language, but it was worth a shot right? She flattened her right hand, holding it up to touch her lips and chin before bringing her hand down like she was blowing a kiss. Minus the puckered lips and blowing. And to be certain that they understood, she also mouthed the words 'thank you'. In return, she opened up her arms in case Makoto too wanted a hug. Everyone deserved a hug!
Only after the hug did she bite into one of the caramels and moan softly in delight! And as much as she didn't want Darling to have too much sugar, the Eevee was allowed one too. Though, she didn't know how to eat it so just sort of held it in her paws and licked it a bunch before finally getting the idea to bite it. Sonia giggled at this before looking out towards the others.
You know, if a hug helped her, then why didn't she see if it could help the others? So she dared to leave her Eevee on her bed and walked somewhat quietly before tapping her foot in front of Agate's bed to announce her presence. He couldn't see, she couldn't talk, so this was probably going to be a disaster. But he too was in pain, one could see that by the set of his shoulders and the arch to his brow. And as Sonia stepped closer, making sure to scuff or slap her feet so he had an idea as to where she was. Then oh so gently, she placed her hand on his.
Oh dear, he really did look in pain right now, and Sonia frowned. Her heart hut to see him like this, even though she was also in a similar level of pain. But not being able to see, when you we supposed to. that must have also been startling for him. So if he sat up, she would gently tug on his arm to wrap her arms around him in a hug too.
Sid winced as they listened to Agate’s assessment. From nursing school, they knew some forms of migraines caused visual and sometimes auditory hallucinations, but this coupled with what they already knew about him and what seemed to be happening to so many sounded different. Biting the inside of their mouth, Sid stored this information for later. “Ah, yeah, we couldn’t afford to give everyone a private room, I’m sorry,” they answered softly. In a bigger city, they would have been able to accommodate better, but Fuji was a farming town.
The assurance that Agate was strong earned a small unseen weak smile from Sid. Children shouldn’t have to be strong, though…. They would check on the others, though. There were so many in pain. People, Pokemon. It was unfair. Sid smiled weakly towards the trainer of the next pair of patients. The appreciation was appreciated even if it felt like small potatoes when nothing so far had really worked effectively. The apology earned a small hum back as Sid looked towards the Mienfoo. “I can understand,” they answered softly back. “It’s hard to be in a perfect mood when you’re hurting…” They shot a glance sideways towards Agate’s area again. He was so strong for someone so young. It… saddened Sid.
Sid’s attention shifted to Sonia. They didn’t know what they could do for her, but they wanted to do something, anything. They watched her motions. Watch? Time? Oh— hair tie. Their hand went to their own wrist and sure enough found a spare waiting. When had they put that on? The day before sometime. Pulling it off their wrist, they held it forward. “Sorry I only have one… but better than none yeah…?” they spoke softly. Maybe they could do like a fish tail for her really quickly if she wanted….Though that might actually increase her headache considering the tightness of the hair...Oof. Maybe just a soft single braid would be ok…
But they … did need to get everything they said they would. “I’ll be right back,” they murmured before walking passed her thereafter and going to the nurse’s station. Taking a moment to breathe, they checked in with the nurse there and explained what they needed. They grabbed the ice Agate and both Pokemon as well as a few spare pillows they found.
Making sure they had everything, they came back and first set the pillows and ice packs down. Turning just in time to see the trainer again, Sid smiled back softly at the offer. At any other time, it would have been considered kind of inappropriate to accept such a thing but this was… This was a special case. “I’d appreciate that,” Sid admitted softly. Candy right now would do wonders. Taking the caramel, they unwrapped it and then popped it in their mouth. Oh. Oh wow. “This is… sugoi neh….” they paused and then flashed a warm smile. “Thank you, so much.” They needed to perk up more and be as nice as this trainer was!
Coming over to Agate thereafter, they spoke up. “I’ve got your ice, if you need I can … uh… adjust it for you.” Yeah.

"Why are you apologizing?" Agate laughed between pained winces. "I'm thankful for what you done... I can't imagine what it'd be like if I'm still on the front of my house with two Pokemons screaming. I'm thankful already, so thank you, really... Though could you check my mother and father perhaps? Their contacts should be on my phone, and... well, just tell them I'll be alright. That's all I ask."
Hhhh... pain, pain, go away... As much as he wanted to sing to just alleviate the pain, he already can hear all the cursing, all the sobbing, all the hissing and whining... it's not fun at all.
That's when he heard someone vocalizing knock-- understandable because the divider is just pretty much a curtain. Agate can't help but to let out a low chuckle. "Hello," he would greet the... person. Going by voice alone he would guessed... androgynous? A bit of masculine? But even then he know that voice are not everything. "Sorry, um..." seem Agate is trying to gauge whether to address this person with female honorific or male honorific. "...kind person," he ultimately decided to just go with the neutral one. "Caramels sound good, thank you." Agate would lift his hand, opening his palm... oh, that crinkling sensation is quite fun! "I don't think they're in this room... either in their Pokeball or in other room... I can't tell with all these fireworks, aheh..."
Force himself huh. "...Sure, I'll keep that in mind." Agate popped one of the caramel in his mouth, letting the sweet taste permeates his taste bud. "...These are bombs by the way. From the taste, it must be homemade?" Agate asked, grinning. "It tastes amazing, thank you."
Once he felt that the nice person has left, Agate slowly reclined back to his pillow. He tried to stave off the pain by trying to sleep. He was half drifting to sleep when suddenly, he heard sound of tapping. He was a bit groggy. Who? Oh god, even getting up felt like he's about to fall or something... And that's when he smelled a familiar scent... a familiar shampoo.
A hand? A female's hand?
"...Sis?" he asked.
Of course... of course his sister is here too... considering how many people seem to be affected by this strange sudden migraine that probably caused by some volcanic fume or something... of course she'll be here. He had no idea that he totally got the wrong person though. "...Sis... are you alright?" Agate asked, trying to find the perceived sister's hair. "...Bet you're a mess," he teased, chuckling. "Were you in middle of sleeping? Turned around often as usual?"
...Agate did not even gave Sonia a time to answer. "...It must hurt so bad huh? It's OK, you don't need to talk. ...Sorry for worrying you. I guess this has been the second time I worried you huh...? Even though back then I told myself I don't want you to worry about me anymore... and it was my turn to worry about you... but in the end I guess I ended up giving a panic attack to you yet again...
...Are your leg alright? Should... I ask for a chair?"
It's then he heard Sid's voice. "Oh, um... please. I think my sis is also having a massive headache... Could you please bring chair for her, Sid-sensei? My sis' right leg is kind of weak..."
It was easy to see that Agate was a little unsure of how to address them; and Makoto couldn't help a gentle chuckle at this, visibly amused. "You're perfectly fine, darling." They'd respond to his apology; giving Agate a soft pat on the head, being careful to not aggravate anything. "Anything works, really; I have no huge preferences, though I do typically go by Mx." They'd clarify to him with a warm smile - even if Agate likely couldn't see it, he'd probably hear it in their tone. As Agate explained where his pokemon were, though, they'd nod a bit somberly; softly mentioning "Well, I hope your pokemon are doing alright then, dear. It's quite a shame, seeing so many people and pokemon alike hurting right now..."
They wouldn't linger long on a heavy subject like that, though; instead chuckling a bit as Agate commented on the caramels. "Homemade indeed! I love making different kinds of sweets, during downtime; though little Kuro loves my caramels in particular." They'd chirp; bringing their hands together in a cheery gesture, even if Agate couldn't see it. Once the caramels had been distributed to Agate, though... "I'm going to go share these caramels with the others. Do get some rest now, okay darling? You'll have all the time in the world to be strong and energetic, once these headaches go away."
With one last gentle headpat, Makoto would leave Agate so that he could rest - moving on to Sonia next.
Seeing the way Sonia's face lit up would make Makoto smile as well; happy to see that she appreciated the offered sweets this much. For as quiet as Sonia was, she seemed to be a rather endearing sweetheart, with just how expressive she was. As Sonia attempted to sign a 'thank you' to Makoto, though, they would take a second to process it; recognizing the gesture. "Ah... Of course, darling; I think we all need a little bit of sweetness and kindness right now." They'd respond, their own smile just as warm and happy, even if it was somewhat apologetic. "I apologize, by the way; I only know a little bit of sign language, probably not enough for me to hold any conversation."
As the younger woman offered a hug, Makoto was more than happy to accept the offer; wrapping their arms around Sonia, and gently patting her on the head as well. "It doesn't take any conversation to see that you're quite the sweetheart, though." They'd comment with a slightly teasing though gentle hue; endeared at Sonia's sweet and kind demeanor. Seeing that the duo both seemed to enjoy the treats, Makoto would be visibly satisfied - turning their attention to Darling, now. "And hello there, little one." They'd greet the Eevee as they crouched down to her level; a hand extended partially, as though to show their intentions to pet her. "Are you okay with being touched?"
If Darling accepted Makoto's touch, they'd pet the eevee and scratch her behind the ears briefly, before straightening back up as Sid came back into the room. "Ah... I suppose this is when I take my leave, I wouldn't want to leave the good nurse without any sweets!" They'd chuckle to Sonia and Darling both. "You're both free to come visit me and my dears past the divider; I'm sure that Kama and Tengu would love to make some new friends, even if Kuro's shy and Tachi's a bit grumpy right now. Though take it easy too, okay?"

Going to Sid next, Makoto would smile warmly as they accepted the offered sweets, the smile only brightening at Sid's voiced appreciation over the caramel. "Of course, darling." They'd respond; taking some of the ice and a pillow for Kama and Tachi, so that Sid didn't have to carry everything everywhere. "And thank you for the ice and pillows, dear." They'd return in gratitude - murmuring sympathetically "I hope things calm down for you and your coworkers soon, looking after everyone so suddenly must be hard work."
As Sid went to tend to Agate though, Makoto would return to their pokemon - looking Tachi, Kama, and Kuro over. It seemed there was no real change - Kuro and Kama had eaten their caramels, and were now trying to help look after Tachi, who had only managed a couple of token nibbles on his caramel. Frowning sympathetically, Makoto would place the pillow behind Kama and Tachi - so that they could be comfier - and offered them both some ice. "Here you are, darlings; see if this helps your headaches at all..." They'd murmur to the two weasels - once more pressing a gentle pair of kisses to their foreheads.
Kama, being an ice-type, seemed to react positively to the ice; at first flinching a bit in surprise at the sudden cold as he pressed it to his head, but soon beginning to chitter positively as he relaxed into the cool sensation against his head. It seemed that though this didn't completely stave off the headache, that the little Sneasel was finding a bit of relief with the cold! Tachi, too, seemed to find relief in the icepack - though not as much, still looking miserable. It seemed to be enough for his appetite to slowly return, though; the Mienfoo picking up his caramel once more, and slowly nibbling at it.
Makoto, at seeing that the ice was helping a little, would smile in relief; sitting back down at their bedside, and retrieving their handbag to put the now-empty ziploc baggy away. Hopefully, sharing these sweets would help things lighten up a little...
In putting the baggy away though, Makoto would soon realize - oh, right, they had a comb and their ribbon in here! Pulling both out, they would begin to comb at their long hair briefly - getting the tangles out the best they could - before tying their hair up in a ponytail with the ribbon, tied up into a bow. That also reminded them, they could recall Sonia and Sid talking about hair ties before - did she ever get that hairtie that she wanted, or did she still need one? Ah... Maybe Makoto should've asked her about it, before.
Well, in any case... Makoto would bend over the bed a little - folding their arms on the edge, and resting their chin on top, as they watched their darlings beginning to slowly attempt to groom each other. Hopefully, with the ice, their headaches would start going down soon...
Oh! Sid did have a spare! It was only the one, she couldn't do her typical style of twin braids. Oh well, even just putting her hair up would help, not so much with her headache but just her general state of mind. Had they even figured out what was causing these headaches? She was certain she had been told already but she couldn't put her finger on what time it was currently. Surely she could be forgiven for that.
Her smile was weak, but no less grateful as she nodded her head and mouthed the words 'thank you' again to Sid. Then they needed to get going so they could help the others and Sonia nodded again. They were still technically working, and as much as she loved the company, she couldn't impede them too much. Maybe once her own headache had gone down she could help the others if there were still many needing help. She would have to stop by her farm for her ID though. And even then, could she function well enough with so little sleep? She'd have to see. But if Sid could do it, then she'd sure as Arceus try!
She hadn't gotten too far in finger combing her before Makoto had come by. And she was actually sort of delighted that someone could recognize sign language. Even if it wasn't much, it was just that thinnest of threads to keep herself just a little more sane. It was hard not being able to speak, well, she probably could try, but it wasn't worth it. She had relied on her telepathy for so long, she'd be surprised if she could verbally pronounce anything correctly.
But Sonia couldn't help but smile and flush a little at the compliment. Though she wasn't sure how to respond, so the best she could do was a more shy sign for 'thank you'. And Darling, Darling was a sweetie too. If only Sonia could share that fact as she nodded to Makoto while Darling looked curiously at the new person, only needing a quick sniff before butting her head against the other's palm. "Eev!" She squealed into the attention, Sonia giggling at just how much of an attention seeker the young Eevee could be, it was sweet though. Who wouldn't want to cuddle with an adorable Eevee?
And now Makoto wanted to leave so they could share the caramels with Sid, which was also really nice. It wouldn't be fair for Sid to miss out on something just because they were also working. So Makoto went to share with Sid, and Sonia left behind him to see how the other occupants of the room were doing.
The young man, Agate if she remembered hearing right which was also tickling something at the back of her mind. Something that she should remember but couldn't put her finger on. But upon getting closer, communicating with what noise she could make as the young man was blind folded and couldn't see. She knew this had been a recipe for disaster, but she had hoped it would go alright just the same. Instead, there was quite the case of mistaken identity that she couldn't clear up on her own. Sonia felt quite torn, and frankly a little shocked, but the large hand came up to her hair, asking if she was okay but also commenting (she could only guess at being teased as it wasn't often she actually was so the tone wasn't as familiar as it could have been.) on her hair being a mess. She didn't get much of a chance to counter him, not that she could have even if she wanted to.
Just who was this lucky sister to have such a worried brother? It was actually kind of nice to have someone actively worrying about her, but she was just trying to help him but giving him a hug. Oh dear Shaymin... Sonia bit her lip, uncertain how to proceed, and then of course Sid was checking on Agate as a good nurse would.
Her heart skipped a beat, this probably looked bad huh? Maybe, just maybe her head didn't hurt enough she could try to reach to what was admittedly a more familiar mind. Though it was still difficult to focus enough to make the connection, but she could feel the click once it was in place, as unsteady as it might be.
"A misunderstanding." She was able to get the thought across, as quite and as broken as it may have been before it snapped back at her. Okay, that hurt more than she had hoped, lips parting as she took in several deep breaths and squinted as the ache behind her eyes became too much. Maybe Sid would be kind enough to explain that she was in fact not Agate's sister, though it definitely seemed like someone Sonia may have known with the name like Agate. Though she couldn't recall where. She gave the softest of groans as her head throbbed after the telepathy she had used and patted at Agate's arm. She'd be fine, if only she could tell him through touch. He had been trying to sleep before she had interrupted right? Maybe it would be best if she tried to sleep it off too? So giving his arm another pat and a squeeze, hoping they'd both get out of this okay before she was half stumbling, one eye shut as she exited his section to try and get to her own.
Only to go one divider to far and as she stepped in, she noted the bed was full, but not with her Eevee companion. No, that was most definitely a Sneasel, a Mienfoo and Makoto. Sonia blinked, opening her other eye to try and get a better look before her mouth opened into a small o and she realized what she had done. There was a squeak from across the divider, and confused "Ee?" before Darling was coming over with her last candy. 'Opps' Sonia mouthed quietly before gesturing behind her. Would Makoto like her to leave? Sure they had offered to let her come over, but she also hadn't exactly meant too.
