Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
To participate in the Community Garden, first post in this thread looking for a Pokemon. A mod will tag you and reply with stats for one Pokemon you find, including color and possibly even evolution depending on the species. Reply again encountering and trying to capture the Pokemon. Once you succeed, do not post in the thread again unless looking for a new encounter.
You get one free catch per month, and up to four encounters per month. Each catch after the first will cost you 100 Pen. Be sure to note how many Pokemon you've caught for the mod when you capture one.
Pokemon in the Garden have a +20% capture rate with any ball, and will never flee.
The Garden stock will rotate out at 11:59pm site time on August 4. After that, no new encounters will be spawned. However, anyone who has an ongoing encounter that isn't yet finished has until 11:59pm on the 15th of August to finish trying to catch their encounter. After that, the thread will be locked and archived.

[attr="class","ayab-text"] One of the unique things about Arciel was the variously uniquely colored Pokemon that were native to that place, and Nessa had always wanted a chance to see one of them up close. So when she heard of the garden that supposedly had so many of them roaming free, she immediately took her chance to actually check it out. She hadn't even checked the notice about which species were going to be found this month-she wanted to be as completely surprised as possible! [break][break] "Hello out there!" she called as she strolled through, keeping a lookout for any Pokemon who might want to join her. She was trying not to make too much noise as she traveled, not wanting to frighten any of the Pokemon into fleeing, but on the other hand she was hoping for one to approach her on their own.
Another month, another day at the community garden! Ettie would be in a rather chipper mood as she prowled about the garden - and why wouldn't she? She'd heard of the pokemon that were appearing here now; puppies and murkrows! And she wanted to try to befriend some of them!
Thus, with a few eggs in tow, Ettie would run off into the garden - Anne following at her side. "Ehehehe! Let's see what we find out here, Anne!" The young girl would chirp to her companion - the young Rockruff barking in response, as they weaved past the occasional person entering into the garden as well. [attr="class","ayab-text"]"Oh!" exclaimed Nessa when the Snubbull emerged from one of the bushes. Her coloration reminded her of chocolate, in a way, those fancy chocolates her parents would buy as a treat, with a mixture of dark and light. Definitely a pretty girl. Smiling, she knelt down and held out a Pokeball. [break][break]
"Hi, I'm Nessa!" she said. "I'm planning on going on a journey through this region, and I'd like you to come with me. You'll get a chance to see much more of this place, and maybe my home region of Kanto too. Does that sound nice to you?"

[attr="class","ayab-text"] Nessa let out a small "oof" when the Snubbull ended up breaking free of the offered Pokeball. She supposed she hadn't been detailed enough, about what the journey would entail. [break][break] "You'll get a chance to meet my other friends as well," she continued. "Cassius can be a bit of a grump sometimes, but he's a sweetheart deep down. Columba and Celandine aren't going to be traveling with us, but we'll probably meet up at a town sometime. Maybe if you like one of them more, you could go with them too. [break][break] "I'm a Coordinator, so you probably won't be participating in battle so much," she added. "I guess I don't know if that's a dealbreaker or not. But if it is, maybe one of my other friends would be more to your liking?" Once more, she offered up a Pokeball. [break][break] [Trying another befriending attempt with a Pokeball!]
Step by step, Ettie would explore about the garden - looking high and low for any pokemon that would catch her eye! Surely, those special colored pokemon had to be around here somewhere, right? So why wasn't she finding one, so far? Puffing her cheeks in a hair of frustration, Ettie would glance down to Anne - asking "Have you found anything, Anne...?"
The young Rockruff, in response, would sniff the air a little; though she, too, would shake her head. The scents she could pick up were too old and stale to be worth following; it was as if this portion of the garden was completely abandoned...
... At least, until a sudden sense of eyes on them fell over the duo. The hair on the back of Ettie's neck standing on end, the young girl would begin to glance about slowly and more carefully; just in time to catch a glimpse of something pink darting behind a nearby tree..! Blinking curiously, Ettie would slowly step forward towards the tree - Anne following at her heels - before peering around to see none other than a little Yamask behind it!
Had the ghost-type been following them through the garden...?
Realizing this, Ettie would blink, before giggling; kneeling down to the Yamask. "Hey there!" She'd chirp in a gentle voice; reaching out a hand in greeting. The Yamask, in response, would shyly (yet somewhat eagerly) extend a hand of his own - the two entwining fingers! The young girl couldn't help a giggle at this, visibly endeared; mentioning "Did you just wanna make friends with us, little fella?"
The Yamask, in response, would make a soft, chirp-like whistle in response; huddling closer to Ettie. She'd make a surprised laugh, before simply smiling fondly; patting the Yamask on the head with her free hand. "I dunno how I'd raise a little fella like you, but... I'd be happy to be friends with you, and find you someone who can raise you!" She'd offer with a big grin; digging out a pokeball to offer to the Yamask. "How's that sound to you?" Nest Ball, go!

"It's been awhile since the last time we've visited..."
With a new selection of pokemon to find - namely ghost types and a dark type - it was no surprise that Makoto would be treading through the garden, in search of a new couple of darlings to add to the ever-growing family. All the while, Kuro was curled up in Makoto's arms, and Kama and Tachi were both following at their heels; idly chittering to eachother all the while.
Stepping along the pathway that winded through the garden though, one thing was for certain; the assembled group was looking to find themselves a wild pokemon out here. The only question now, was what would they find? Kuro the Zorua - Level 11 Kama the Sneasel - Level 11 Tachi the Meinfoo - 11

Huhm. So this was the community garden...?
"Shame that Daisy can't quite fit in here..." Borzil hummed with a disappointed hue; scratching his cheek a little. With how big she was, there was a risk of her crushing some valuable plant or whatever - so she had to stay in her pokeball for the time being, to prevent any accidental damages. "Guess I'll have to take lots of photos for her, then!"
Pulling out his phone, Borzil immediately began taking photographs of the garden - focusing particularly on the flowers he'd pass by, knowing that Daisy would adore those. All the while, Rose would follow at his heels - chewing on a rawhide bone - alongside Gumdrop and Honeybunch, who were playfully batting at eachother as they ran along. Dial would be flitting about above as well; keeping an eye out for any threats, and keeping an extra close eye on the Mudbray egg that Borzil was carrying in his bag.
With all this activity, it was almost for certain that another pokemon would get curious and investigate...! The only question is, what sort of pokemon...? OOC: Ignore Honeybunch's level when rolling, please!
Rose the Cranidos - Level 5 Dial the Sigilyph - Level 5 Gumdrop the Eevee - Level 6 Honeybunch the Eevee - Level 10 Mudbray Egg - 3/3

[attr="class","ayab-text"] So the Snubbull still seemed reluctant. Despite this, Nessa extended another Pokeball. She hadn't run away yet, after all, so perhaps she just wanted to hear a bit more. [break][break] "Do you know what Contests are?" she asked. "You'll get to show off your moves, in a way that tries to make things look as pretty as possible! There's still a fighting part, but even then you have to try and make it look pretty. They're my specialty, so I can probably figure out a way for you to show off real well on stage!" [break][break] [Another capture attempt!]

A rustle in a nearby bush was quick to get the assembled group's attention. Or... At least most of the assembled group's attention. Borzil, it seemed, was completely distracted; engrossed in trying to get a few good photos of a rather stunning flower bush, to show to Daisy later..! Though the other pokemon would turn their attentions to the rustling bush, Borzil was more than happy to keep his back turned; humming happily to himself as he snapped a couple of photos.
Rose, honestly, was somewhat indifferent; simply being perfectly content in chewing on her bone. Honeybunch and Gumdrop would both be curious, however; whereas Dial... Well, Dial was quick to dive right into the bush, letting out shrill dialup noises all the while..!
It was only when a yelp sounded out from the bush that Borzil blinked and turned around - just in time to see a small Yamper (a blue one!) whimpering and fleeing out of the bush, proceeding to hide behind Borzil's legs to get away from Dial's hypervigilant protectiveness! The young man would watch as Dial popped out of the bush to pursue, but... "Dial, that's enough." He'd firmly state; holding up a hand in a 'stop' gesture, to get the Sigilyph to settle down.
Once the Sigilyph was no longer about to Signal Beam the poor Yamper into oblivion, Borzil would turn towards the pup, and crouch down - smiling gently. "Heyyy, it's okay..." He'd gently reassure the Yamper; petting the corgi pokemon's head, gently scritching him behind the ears. "I know, that was pretty scary, huh? I'm sorry that Dial got so riled up at you, like that..." Slowly but surely, the Yamper's tail began to wag in response; a happy yip, as he licked Borzil's hand! This would prompt a happy laugh from the young man; petting the Yamper more fully now. Borzil wasn't sure if he wanted to catch the Yamper - he was cute, though he just wasn't Borzil's cup of tea.
Gumdrop, however, seemed to have a different idea - having been digging through Borzil's bag while he was distracted! Headbutting an empty pokeball out of the bag, the ball would tumble out and roll along - something that caught the Yamper's attention, as he ran off to chase the weird rolly thing...! Borzil, amused, would watch as the puppy ran off, though... Then he realized just what, exactly, the Yamper was chasing! "W-wait a second-" Too late. Gumdrop would proceed to bat the pokeball into the Yamper, who tried to catch it and pick it up... Though he'd, instead, go into it by mistake!
Gumdrop couldn't help a slight snicker of amusement, as Borzil blinked a little owlishly - waiting to see what would happen. He guessed it'd come down to whether or not the Yamper liked them enough to come with, now, but... Whoops..? Pokeball, go! +10% cause Ranger
Well, weren't they lucky? Makoto would smile in satisfaction as they came across what looked to be none other than a Yamask; sitting on a stump in a small clearing! Though... What was the Yamask up to, they wondered? Brush in hand, the Yamask seemed to be scribbling on their own mask, only to get frustrated and wipe everything away with grumbles, and then try again! Kama and Tachi would both linger at the edge of the clearing, watching curiously, though...
... As Makoto treaded closer, they'd realize that the Yamask wasn't necessarily scribbling on the mask... They were trying to put eyeliner on the mask! Briefly, the ghost-type would glance up at Makoto's approach - though they'd soon turn their attention back down to their mask, muttering to themself as they wiped it clean once more. In watching the Yamask try to apply the eyeliner once more, Makoto could quickly see what the problem was - their hand was too shaky, and the line was coming out quite uneven, as a result!
Feeling sympathetic to the ghost pokemon's struggles - given that they once had that problem when they were much younger - Makoto would crouch down next to the Yamask. "Darling; might I make a suggestion?" They'd question - to which the Yamask glanced to them, making an inquiring whistle-like sound. Gently coaxing the Yamask to instead sit on the grass, and rest their elbow on the stump, Makoto would explain "You should try bracing your arm against the stump like this - and then your pinky against the cheek portion of the mask. It'll make your strokes more even and steady, that way."
As if to prove their point, Makoto would take the time to get out a handmirror; taking a bit of makeup remover to get rid of the eyeliner they were wearing, and showing exactly what they meant as they reapplied it! The Yamask, curious, would watch closely as Makoto went through the motions; and once Makoto was done applying their own eyeliner, the little ghost would try and mimic the motions...! Slowly and carefully, they'd follow Makoto's advice as they drew eyeliner on their mask... Only to whistle and clap their hands happily, to see just how much steadier the line looked on their mask!
"You did wonderful, darling; good job!" Makoto would praise and smile warmly at seeing the ghost-type being so enthused, and would decide to pull out a pokeball, to offer to the Yamask. "Y'know, if you want, you could always come travel with me - I'm sure it'd be a wonderful opportunity, for you to learn a little more about makeup, if you're interested." Premier Ball, go!
Whew... After a long day of work, Andrew honestly liked that there was the garden to unwind. Though there were other people here too, the garden was expansive enough that you were unlikely to bump into more than maybe one or two other people once you got into the thick of it - and it was quiet, aside from the pokemon that milled about. As a result, it was a rather relaxing place for him.
Sitting back against a tree with Inari, Andrew would be idly sipping at a bottle of juice; simply letting out a soft exhale as he unwinded, with his pokemon at his side. Occasionally, the rustle of foliage or the chitter of a pokemon could be heard - though he was content just sitting here, waiting to see what would come to him instead of seeking the pokemon out himself.
So then came the question; what would he find out here...? Inari the Vulpix - Level 12
As Andrew continued to sip at the bottle of juice, Inari would be half-sprawled across his lap as usual; a hand idly scritching her behind the ear, as she simply dozed a little. With how calm everything was, even he couldn't help but let his eyes drift closed - letting out a soft sigh, his head tilting back against the tree behind him.
A rustle in the grass, though, would prompt the both of them to raise their heads - glancing in the direction of the foliage, just beyond the clearing. Seeing a little canine head poke out, he was quick to see that this was no more than a yamper - the little puppy pokemon passing through the area, keeping aware of her surroundings as she went. Andrew would only watch as the yamper strolled along - a fond smile on his face - until she soon disappeared once more into the foliage.
Ah... Watching pokemon like this was always nice; what else might pop up, while he was here? Gonna pass on the Yamper - second encounter, please!
Well... he supposed that another Yamper would pop up! This one was female as well, and identical to the last; though she was far less careful than the previous one. She was heralded by a loud sound of crunching leaves/twigs and rustling foliage, as she darted out across the clearing to follow after the previous Yamper - prompting a somewhat surprised and owlish glance from boy and fox alike!
As the yamper disappeared from view as well though, and the sound of crunching and rustling grew more and more distant... Andrew couldn't help a laugh, scratching Inari behind the ear. "Well, wasn't that something...?" He'd murmur out loud - to which Inari snorted in faint amusement, before resting her head on her paws once more. Reroll again, please! third encounter!
Inari the Vulpix - Level 12
